  5. As the execution takes place, the scarred veteran looks upon the scene, frowning. As the blade of Richard Staunton pierces through Caspar, Axel stays silent, not moving or anything. He then looks to the dead corpse, wondering to himself, "You've been a good friend, Ser," he says, shaking his head, "I'll see you in the Seven Skies," he says again, his voice getting deeper and sadder. The veteran then takes his leave, battle-ax at his hip. He heads toward Erochland, thinking all of the way there. The soldier then shakes his head as if to try and erase his thoughts, walking to his house. He remembers his old friend, the one he used to serve under, "They say a life without death isn't a life at all," says the veteran, entering his house to lay in his bed, sighing in a stressful manner.
  6. A Student's Training 8th of Snow's Maiden, 1548 The briny Northern air struck the ground as Axel Burchoff and Leo Ivorstead came head to head, armored in ferrum with iron blades at their sides. It had been a rainy day in Courland the day before, and flakes of snow were beginning to drop on the wet surface. Without a doubt, this duel would be a good one. Axel had taught Leo for two years now, and this was the moment where he had to prove his worthiness. The trainer raised his free hand, his palms out. He then put his thumb down, then his pointer finger, and then his others fingers, as if to count down. When his pinky dropped, Axel instantly lowered his hand and came rushing at the student. Without wait Leo as well rushed him. The two were only a few meters away before impact. Just a few seconds after, their swords met. The clash was beginning, as Axel pushed Leo's sword to his right, crushing him with his strength. Instantly, Leo retreated, looking to his trainer. He then rushed in once more, his blade up. The swords met again, and this time, the hearty and strong Axel was not ready. Leo kept on pushing his blade, only putting on more strength every second. His eyebrows twitched as he pushed his blade against Axel's. The trainer had no clue what to do, until he successfully distracted the young Leo with the bob of his head. Recklessly, Leo turned around, forgetting about the duel. Axel then retreated himself, only before rushing in once more. Meanwhile, Leo's mouth has curled into a smirk, ready to strike his trainer. This was a flaw that the trainer made, he forget himself how much of a cheeky-trickster Leo actually was. He swayed around, hitting Axel's blade from the left as hard as he could. The blade dropped out of Axel's hand and flew on the damp grass. Axel then looked to his blade, beginning to back up. He then looked to Leo, smiling at his newly ready swordsman, one which he hasn't seen so good at a young age. They shook hands, and Axel, proudly in the Courlandian territory, gave his speech, "Leo Ivorstead, you've fought well today, and finally beat me. T'is an honor to call you a swordsman, one that is good at such a young age. I am most dearly proud of you," Axel would say, laughing lightly, though a smile on his face at the same time. Leo, too, smiled away his day, proud to finally be a trained swordsman. The day was special to both the boy and the trainer, and it appeared that the boy was no longer a student, but a professional swordsman. This was a special day; a day to be remembered by one Axel Burchoff, and by one Leo Ivorstead.
  7. Axel, reading the invitation slowly and firmly, from outside his balcony, smiles at the text carved into the paper. A slow thought of happiness rolls through his mind as his wife approaches the balcony as well, looking over the paper too. He lays a glove on the railing of the balcony, feeling the cold and damp feeling after just experiencing a rain. He smiles once more as he looks to the clouds, pale from the past days rainfall, "Interesting, Demetrios. I shall come and have a look, as I wish to see this glorious moment," Axel says, looking back down upon the paper. A shadow emerges from the house as Axel's eldest son - Alexander - comes outside as well. He gives both his wife and Alexander a hug before turning to walk back into the depths of the warm house. Whilst walking, he thinks of the invitation, and instantly opens his mouth, though not looking back. "Love, we're going somewhere in a few elven days, stay ready," he says, disappearing into the house rather swiftly. Meanwhile, Axel's wife would look to Alexander, giving him a sly smile, "Let's hope he brings us somewhere safe and fun," she says, still a slight grin on her face. She too, then, disappears into the house, leaving Alexander to look around at the sky, chuckling silently. The cold surroundings enlighten his spirit, and make him excited for the upcoming days, though he does not yet know what's in store. He claps his hands slightly, tapping the balcony as he does so. Soon, the whole family is no longer on the balcony, but instead inside. The cold and foggy outside is left silent, with an occasional yell or sound from one of Courland's citizens. The briny air chills the citizens outside, and some inside. The day which Axel had been waiting for, Demetrios' wedding. Overcasting above the ground, rain clouds are beginning to come back from the previous day. A cold rain begins to pour across Courland, and Riga, as the family of three enjoy the warmth of the inside, excited for the day of Demetrios' wedding.
  8. "Oh my GOD... It's a miracle," Axel says plainly as he hears of this news.
  9. Axel would be watching the whole thing, sighing to himself before a tear would begin to form in his eye, he would walk into the pit, picking up the corpse to go and dispose it, "You were a good man, and I shall truly miss you, General. You have taught me much…" Axel would say, looking down at his brand new officer tabard, the same uniform that Richard used to wear.. OOC: Cya later dude, good fun rping with you through the days. You will be missed.
  10. Looks at the letter, keeping silent, "Be safe, friend, I shall see you soon."
  11. "Courland guards, 'ctually." Axel would correct, coughing.
  12. "We still accept dwed." Axel would say sarcastically.
  13. Axel looks at Ser Hakon, staring at him blankly, "Ye', I know ye' don' like it, but maybe it's because it's much too relaxing, and makes you want to sit there f'er ages, forgetting ye' need t'eh train soldiers. Or maybe it's because ye' t'ink t'eh tea is totally bull, ay'?" Axel would say, nodding once or twice to Hakon as he turns back to do his work.
