Grand Tourney of Leone, 1554
PureMaxim replied to Will (TauFirewarrior)'s topic in Vailor Roleplay Archive
Application for those who wish to participate in the Melee Name: Alexander Burchoff Age: 20 Title(If applicable): N/A Lands of Origin: Erochland -
As the execution takes place, the scarred veteran looks upon the scene, frowning. As the blade of Richard Staunton pierces through Caspar, Axel stays silent, not moving or anything. He then looks to the dead corpse, wondering to himself, "You've been a good friend, Ser," he says, shaking his head, "I'll see you in the Seven Skies," he says again, his voice getting deeper and sadder. The veteran then takes his leave, battle-ax at his hip. He heads toward Erochland, thinking all of the way there. The soldier then shakes his head as if to try and erase his thoughts, walking to his house. He remembers his old friend, the one he used to serve under, "They say a life without death isn't a life at all," says the veteran, entering his house to lay in his bed, sighing in a stressful manner.

A Student's Training 8th of Snow's Maiden, 1548 The briny Northern air struck the ground as Axel Burchoff and Leo Ivorstead came head to head, armored in ferrum with iron blades at their sides. It had been a rainy day in Courland the day before, and flakes of snow were beginning to drop on the wet surface. Without a doubt, this duel would be a good one. Axel had taught Leo for two years now, and this was the moment where he had to prove his worthiness. The trainer raised his free hand, his palms out. He then put his thumb down, then his pointer finger, and then his others fingers, as if to count down. When his pinky dropped, Axel instantly lowered his hand and came rushing at the student. Without wait Leo as well rushed him. The two were only a few meters away before impact. Just a few seconds after, their swords met. The clash was beginning, as Axel pushed Leo's sword to his right, crushing him with his strength. Instantly, Leo retreated, looking to his trainer. He then rushed in once more, his blade up. The swords met again, and this time, the hearty and strong Axel was not ready. Leo kept on pushing his blade, only putting on more strength every second. His eyebrows twitched as he pushed his blade against Axel's. The trainer had no clue what to do, until he successfully distracted the young Leo with the bob of his head. Recklessly, Leo turned around, forgetting about the duel. Axel then retreated himself, only before rushing in once more. Meanwhile, Leo's mouth has curled into a smirk, ready to strike his trainer. This was a flaw that the trainer made, he forget himself how much of a cheeky-trickster Leo actually was. He swayed around, hitting Axel's blade from the left as hard as he could. The blade dropped out of Axel's hand and flew on the damp grass. Axel then looked to his blade, beginning to back up. He then looked to Leo, smiling at his newly ready swordsman, one which he hasn't seen so good at a young age. They shook hands, and Axel, proudly in the Courlandian territory, gave his speech, "Leo Ivorstead, you've fought well today, and finally beat me. T'is an honor to call you a swordsman, one that is good at such a young age. I am most dearly proud of you," Axel would say, laughing lightly, though a smile on his face at the same time. Leo, too, smiled away his day, proud to finally be a trained swordsman. The day was special to both the boy and the trainer, and it appeared that the boy was no longer a student, but a professional swordsman. This was a special day; a day to be remembered by one Axel Burchoff, and by one Leo Ivorstead.

Axel, reading the invitation slowly and firmly, from outside his balcony, smiles at the text carved into the paper. A slow thought of happiness rolls through his mind as his wife approaches the balcony as well, looking over the paper too. He lays a glove on the railing of the balcony, feeling the cold and damp feeling after just experiencing a rain. He smiles once more as he looks to the clouds, pale from the past days rainfall, "Interesting, Demetrios. I shall come and have a look, as I wish to see this glorious moment," Axel says, looking back down upon the paper. A shadow emerges from the house as Axel's eldest son - Alexander - comes outside as well. He gives both his wife and Alexander a hug before turning to walk back into the depths of the warm house. Whilst walking, he thinks of the invitation, and instantly opens his mouth, though not looking back. "Love, we're going somewhere in a few elven days, stay ready," he says, disappearing into the house rather swiftly. Meanwhile, Axel's wife would look to Alexander, giving him a sly smile, "Let's hope he brings us somewhere safe and fun," she says, still a slight grin on her face. She too, then, disappears into the house, leaving Alexander to look around at the sky, chuckling silently. The cold surroundings enlighten his spirit, and make him excited for the upcoming days, though he does not yet know what's in store. He claps his hands slightly, tapping the balcony as he does so. Soon, the whole family is no longer on the balcony, but instead inside. The cold and foggy outside is left silent, with an occasional yell or sound from one of Courland's citizens. The briny air chills the citizens outside, and some inside. The day which Axel had been waiting for, Demetrios' wedding. Overcasting above the ground, rain clouds are beginning to come back from the previous day. A cold rain begins to pour across Courland, and Riga, as the family of three enjoy the warmth of the inside, excited for the day of Demetrios' wedding.

"Oh my GOD... It's a miracle," Axel says plainly as he hears of this news.

Axel would be watching the whole thing, sighing to himself before a tear would begin to form in his eye, he would walk into the pit, picking up the corpse to go and dispose it, "You were a good man, and I shall truly miss you, General. You have taught me much…" Axel would say, looking down at his brand new officer tabard, the same uniform that Richard used to wear.. OOC: Cya later dude, good fun rping with you through the days. You will be missed.

Looks at the letter, keeping silent, "Be safe, friend, I shall see you soon."
-
"Courland guards, 'ctually." Axel would correct, coughing.
-
"We still accept dwed." Axel would say sarcastically.

Axel looks at Ser Hakon, staring at him blankly, "Ye', I know ye' don' like it, but maybe it's because it's much too relaxing, and makes you want to sit there f'er ages, forgetting ye' need t'eh train soldiers. Or maybe it's because ye' t'ink t'eh tea is totally bull, ay'?" Axel would say, nodding once or twice to Hakon as he turns back to do his work.

Would simply nod once, knowing he voted for Manuel, "Ave Manuel." he would say simply, nodding to himself, "Lets build a wall." He'd say whilst smiling.
-
"The eagles are in the tavern cages if ye' need 'em." Axel would say, adding on with the man as he gives him a short glance.
-
"Another mass, eh? Hopefully no peasants show up and scream their prayers…" Axel would say this, beginning to climb down some ladders, "One time someone said t'ey wanted GOD t'eh give 'em ale. I wouldn't be surprise considering he looked as he liked ale. Can't blame a lad followin' 'is dreams, can ye'?" He would add, looking into a chest full of ale, "Unlucky him…"
-
"Fock wit' him yer' head goes clean off," Axel would comment, only going to speak again, "Befriend him and yer' a badass just like himself… Lucky me," he would finish, a grin forming on his face.

[Death of a Knight] ~A lonely note from the far east~
PureMaxim replied to HedgeHug's topic in Vailor Roleplay Archive
Axel would be peacefully walking around Courland, waiting for someone to show up as a letter is delivered to him. He instantly falls to his knees, a tear violently trickling down his eye as he sighs. "My friend…" he would whisper in a gravely voice before going to speak again, "Sam…" he would whisper again, going to shed another tear a slight smile forms on his face, "May you rest in the Seven Skies, my friend… Times pass, memories do, though ye' will not." he would say, thinking back to memories as he stays solemn, his knees planted in the snow, and a soft crunch coming out from underneath, "I will meet you up there, my friend," he would say, looking up, "A man's heroism is a man's death," he would call, "Future sightings… GOD wills it, my friend," he would say as he rests a hand on his sheathe, looking down on it, "May you guide my blade, forever and on," Axel would say, taking his hand off and standing back up, rubbing his scar as he sighs deeply again. (( Nothing else to say IC, but you had a good run and I miss RPing with you! D: )) -
Axel would hear about the writ as he passes through Courland and into Braaburg, he thinks for a moment before finally speaking out. "A wise move m'lord…" he would mumble as he begins to enter the keep doors. "Now there is no longer a foolish man running around abusing nobles and givin' us a bad reputation, as well as being a retard and getting int'eh fights." Axel would say this, marching down the stairs to empty out his leather supply.

Axel Burchoff General Features Full Name: Axel de Savveh Burchoff Age: 32 Height: 6'3 Weight: 183 lbs Race: Highlander Personality/Traits Personality: Axel Burchoff, a quite friendly yet stubborn man. The Highlander is a loyal soldier willing to fight for protection. Axel is often overprotective of close friends and kin, yet he seems to always be doing work. Axel always commit's to his duties and it is not easy to tell him otherwise. Axel has a rather respectful personality, yet he can be rather frigid. The man always seems to respect nobles, and does not stop his job until he is done, or said otherwise by a noble. He is also very fond of fighting, and is often found sparring in trainings and such. The man carries a grim face when in unpleasant times; mostly after the loss of a friend or family member. Traits: Loyal, diligent, hard working, swordsman, soldier, stubborn, frigid (at times), tough, respectful. History Axel de Savveh Burchoff was born 10th of Snow's Maiden, 1508. The boy's childhood progressed in terror, pain filled him and he never seemed to enjoy himself. The first of these tragedies happened on 7th of Sun's Smile, 1512. Axel lived on a farm, and was only three. After experiencing hunger, Axel's farm was raided by three criminals. The three tore the place apart, leaving nothing behind, they set fires and razed the farm into bits. Axel was in fear, knowing he was about to die at age three. Although Axel seemed hopeless, his kin is what saved him. The life of Axel was saved, but the life of two family members wasn't. Axel's mom and sister lay dead on the floor that day, and Axel couldn't prevent it. Axel knew that getting revenge on the criminals wouldn't do anything, and so he left it all behind. Fifteen years later, Axel headed out of his pa's small hut to explore greater heights. The boy didn't yet know what his future would look like. At age twenty, just two years after leaving the hut, Axel was recruited to fight for the Barony of Darkwood, it later became known as the Order of the Thorn Stag. Axel didn't last for long after, soon departing the Barony and destroying his oath. This was Axel's only moment where he felt he wasn't loyal, though from there on he swore to never break another oath. Axel's departure was due to Lord Gregor Okenhert's absence, and so he fled to the North, where he pledged an oath to House Staunton. From there, he served for four years until the death of Duke Percival Staunton. The Duke had a horrible disease, then leading him to falling off his horse, and to his death. After the death of Duke Percival Staunton, the man's son, already in charge of the Duchy took over. Axel has served Duke Richard Staunton for six years now, and has a close relation with his fellow brother's. Axel no longer seems grim, or frigid unless in sad times. The man has also found someone he calls his soulmate, therefore happier than before. He seems to always carry and enchanted blade due to protection of his Lord and friends. Scars/Lashing Marks Axel carries many scars and lashing marks around his body, some of which are easily visible while others seem faded away. Axel has many lashing marks on his back due to discipline problems in Darkwood, and in Courland. He manages not to get lashings anymore. He also manages not to think of the lashings, and often does not talk about or notice them. The man also holds a large scar on his left eye, simply after a duel. A large scar is also formed on his right arm, blocked by his armor. The scar was from a snow elf battle. Many minor cuts and bruises form on his legs, also blocked away. He seems to not fear getting hurt, knowing that he has many times. Axel also has a small, faded scar on his right cheek; also from a snow elf battle. Appearance Axel often wears shining Staunton armor, with a long leather sheathe with a small picture and a note on it, his sheathe contains a longsword which would have a small text carved into the blade itself. He is often found on a horse he calls Radish, often enjoying riding around, his hooves strong. Axel carries a small tool belt around his waist. It consists of seeds, his sheathe, a bag for minae; a small, beautiful sketch of his mother, and a fair bit of keys. His legs are also clad in Staunton armor, his boots being messy after rainfall. Axel's facial expression often tells how he's feeling. If he is depressed or sad, a grim face fills him. If he is happy, a smile often fills his face instead. A large scar is carved into his left side, almost touching his eye, his hair seems to be a decent length, and always rather silky and smooth, perhaps wet on rainy days. Axel carries around two blue eyes, almost looking tinted. He has a small cut on his lip, constantly getting more from battle. The man's hands are blocked with gloves, perfect for farming. He is seen with a helmet at war, but his face is visible most of the time. The man is indeed handsome, often running his hand through his hair as it covers his view at times. Axel is also partly blind in one eye, not seeing very well in his left. The man has bulky, muscular arms and rather large hands, he stays at the height of 6'3, and weighs 183 pounds. Axel also has the appearance of a knight, but only wears a helmet at battles, and actually isn't a knight.

-=- The 15th of The Grand Harvest 1537 appeared to be a demise for a young lad of the age of 17. -=- As Christopher Vereila would walk down the streets of Courland, he would think solemnly about his father, killed by the orcs… As Christopher would continue to stroll down the empty streets, a cold feeling would shake his head round and round, he felt like he was being followed. -=- As Christopher would continue to walk, a large thump would clang as the sound rushes to Chris's ear. He turns around to meet the face of a slim man with a large scar along his eye, appearing to have a blade in his hand. He would wear a quite colorful uniform seemingly thought to be part of some sort of army. As Christopher slowly backs away he realizes he is outnumbered, soon shedding one or two tears as his demise gets nearer and nearer. The man seemed to be with another man wearing the same uniform… As Chris gulps down hard closing his eyes, he would clench his hands into a fist as he waits for the blade to strike him. -=- After about three or so seconds, the blade which would be held by the first man would strike down upon Chris's head… As Chris collapses to the ground, blood pouring out of his cranium. His body would lay dead as his blood leaks across the gravel. He hadn't one moment to think before the blade slashed his head… The blood would continue to pour across the gravel, wet… It had been a short life for the lad, but they all come to an end. The criminals who once killed Christopher now are gone and out of sight… The blood continues to follow in a stream past the gravel, scooting into cracks at times. The blood flows into the grass at last as a relevant family member passes by. A 5 year old with a doll… Thinking about the Fall of Christopher Vereila…

*As Axel passes down the bridge from a walk, he glares down at the water below the bridge. He notices a strange body at the bottom. Axel would start to sink into tears as he watches the poor child lay in the water, dead. His mind rushes of the past memories… He takes out his cloth which have his initials: A.B. "Poor child, she wasn't even that old…" he would think, setting down the cloth into the water which then floats onto her body. "I should of been there…" he would say, still filling up with tears. "She deserves better in the Seven Skies…" he would say, looking up. "Future sightings, my young friend… Future sightings…" he would say, smiling slightly…
