It is told through forgotten books, that after a great disaster, that wiped away an isle, the first kingdoms of Men were created. Of course, we all know it was Horen and his Children who did it, but it is an interesting, fictional story nevertheless.
It is said these so called ‘First Men’ came from an entirely different isle from the continent of Aegis. It is said these First Men were taller, reaching the height of that of a high elf’s, and that their practices in magic advanced in such a way, they were able to raise cities in the air, like Arcadia of the Dwarven folk.
The leader of the First Men, his name said to be King Rothorr of Khall Island, was a proficient mage, and wise man, earning the throne after his father’s death at the age of 16, and ruling until the disaster, where he died, 64 years of age. Rothorr ‘The Wise’ ruled justly, both the noblemen and the poor loving and praising him. Until he made his first mistake, ever.
Rothorr was, aside from wise, mad for power. Knowing he had many mages in his kingdom, he rallied them all and said they were doing a test, to see if they could raise the island and live in the skies. Rothorr would be a god to the people if he managed to pull this off. Rothorr thought that getting Runesmiths and Telekinesis experts would make it float higher, and with so came the first mistake.
When they rallied upon the coast of the island, the runes were already done, and the city was beginning to float. When the Telekinesis master started, it all went down.
The voidal mages promptly, well, screwed all over. One of them sabotaged the plan, Lianus of Addsdam (Another city of Khall Island), brother to King Rothorr, and caused the destruction of Khall Island. After he stabbed one of the other mages, he cut the throat of another, part of the coast detaching from the island, causing many houses and people’s deaths. As Rothorr saw that, he drew the legendary Oathkeeper, his sword, made out of Black Ferrum and runed by the most powerful of runesmiths, and cut down Lianus. After the mages, who saw Rothorr covered in blood, with 3 bodies surrounding him, he thought the Wise king had killed the three of them, and not just Lianus. They revolted, and retrieved their magic from the floating stone, the pieces collapsing and some even hitting in the air. The screams of the First Men were muffled by the sea water, and their legacy, forgotten.
But the men and women that survived, were said to travel to the mainland of Aegis, and settle a kingdom, thought to be the Kingdom of Rhoiinar, who perished to a terrible disease created by it’s own king, King Yaharav IV ‘The Mad King”.
And so, lives on the tale of the Sunken City and the Plagued Kingdom of Rhoiinar, a tale to astound children.
