Mage light is available to EVERY MAGE. Household magic permits magelight with roughly the brightness of a torch. I don’t think transfig having access to magelight which can be brighter than that is really a big deal. It’s obsolete anyway since making it blindingly bright doesn’t do much damage and drains too much mana for such a little outcome. By that logic, I’d be able to heat things up with Electric Evocation. Heat is a BYPRODUCT of electricity just as light is a byproduct of fire.

Either way, it doesn’t seem too relevant to the lore. There’s already lore for conjuring light and I think that Fire Evocation can live without it.

Light Evocation was never actually canon in Fire Evocation lore (written by Toxcat) and no additions were ever added on the forums. If you’re going to conjure light, just used household magic mage light or transfiguration mage light.

I’m still struggling to understand this. How many specializations can you have for one slot and can additional slots be provided?

The way I’ve RP’d beams is that upon initial impact, it’s going to break bones. However, if you pin someone up against a hard surface and fling a beam at them, it’ll crush them to death. I think you should put that in the second redline. It’s perfectly realistic that after letting a mage charge for five emotes (six with connection) that they should be able to crush you to death provided they use their environment.
