    Don't try to stop people from trying to branch out and set up their community somewhere, even if the result is another Elysium.

    Why haven't any wars been happening? Is it because of costs? Are alliances too widespread or are diplomats just really good at their jobs?

      It's my opinion that alliances killed LOTC wars . . . It truly seems like you can never have a localized conflict without Teal Masks, Haense or Urguan intervening. It really is killing the server.

      @Ibn KhaldunMy opinion is written from the perspective of an outsider who does not actively engage with these player groups beyond what I see on the streets. It FEELS like there's nothing going for any of these countries, as an outsider, because they all FEEL the same. I'm less "upset" and more bummed that it does not FEEL like they are meeting full potential or taking the steps to carve a unique niche. I've maintained this opinion since last map BTW, when Balian was actively trying to do Constantinople but hardly did anything Byzantine beyond a name or two. I'm also not trashing Balian, I've nothing against the players or the country itself.

      @Ibn KhaldunDespite there being ~4 Human Nations that aren't Haense and Norland, all fail to carve out their own distinct niche IMO by not embracing a stereotype, as much as that term might make people uneasy. Balian, IMO, could be much more cool if it embraced a Greco-Byzantine aesthetic with wacky East Roman memes, but instead it feels more akin to a Venice with the occasional Raevir. Adria could mantle the disgusting Eastern European backwater, or Poland, but it feels like generic medieval that's used to mask PVP factions. Petra could mantle FRANCE but doesn't, doing much the same as Adria. Lastly, Aaun has its most distinct culture being the Waldeno-Minitzers, yet they are brushed off to the side. Honestly, whenever I visit any of these cities it feels like I'm RPing in the same country with different builds. Then again I'm an outsider.
