  1. The Forgotten Veil, the Edge of Crimson “In the beginning were the words, and the words forged twice the same plane, offering one of control and one of chaos - pure entropy. Such a place made me question my sanity.” With the creation of the mortal plane came the creation of another such realm, although this one had skewed in where the more familiar one did not. Imagine it; a mirrored version of your realm, unfamiliar to the concept of Descendants or Divine. Those who descended from the first four have always fought and strived to maintain balance, whether it be for selfish reasons or not, and always fought against any corrupting change that plagues our color. Now, this world has no such leniency. Abandoned by both ends of the scale, the only constant within our realm was the ever-present circle. For what were we without it? Mindless beasts, roaming a gods-forsaken land. Rise, the Beginning “And their words were like fire - blazing about our lands until there was nothing left but white ash. Perhaps that was our purpose, to burn.” For this realm had not started with four, but rather zero. There were no Descendants to be had, the plains untouched by their structures and monuments. The only ruins were the plains or deserts rotted by natural disasters. Neither were there divines to be found here. Never present from the start, their purpose for avoiding this realm will always be shrouded in mystery. Perhaps it was because they viewed this place as forbidden ground, or perhaps all view it as a lost cause. It was merely a mirror of the original’s creation, but something important was missing - order. For it was not the touch of omnipotence or the will of a divine that painted this realm red, it was the bloodshed that followed. Fall, the Age of Ichor “Do not be fooled by how it began, for it was merely a means to an end. The age of ichor.” Fauna untouched by chaos were there with the creation of this place, and there was a time of peace. There was order, even for the briefest moment, a natural cycle for life to procreate and spread. Regrettably, things beyond naturality quickly pursued a selfish desire for bloodshed; monsters. Without Descendants or any higher power present to purge these beasts, they quickly took over and defiled the world. Intelligence was indeed present within this era, but the meager wits of animals were not enough to defend against the degradation of a purer world. Eventually, intelligence was sacrificed for instinct. Blood, the Age of Conflict “The first few years were the harshest - a vicious contest of beasts, tearing down all things. Nothing left to be had but a dirtied slate - one of crimson.” With the beginning of the age of ichor, there was a power struggle between animal and monster, a fight to see who would shape the rest of history. Blood rained down with each and every kill, staining every inch of the world scarlet. Snow became stained with the blood of herbivores, and every single tree had their leaves tainted by a mist of bloodshed, their branches hung viscera like unholy fruit. A constant haze of red caused the light itself to bare a pale pink hue upon the clouds. It only became worse, a thin layer of ichorous crust drying out onto every blade of grass, onto every inch of stone. Horror, the Age of Calamity “Horror in your image. That was all.” With the age of conflict past, the existence of herbivores became null as they were either driven to extinction or died off attempting to survive off of the tainted land, their watering holes mixed with the blood that rained down from the clouds above. Carnivores, evolved to a greater form to match with the creatures that populated the realm with them, became twisted versions of themselves - their natural colors tainted with blood. The only rule of nature that persisted after the dust had finally settled was the will to survive through regular contests of strength in those crimson fields - rarely did a rule of the old world reveal itself within the original animal kingdoms, kinship lost to the new process, younglings turned against the elders of their own race. Terror, the Age of Entropy “There was nothing for us here, after everything had become red. We desire more. Perhaps yours shall suffice.” We are now in the beginning of the last age, bloodlust has overtaken most of the native species, resulting in almost every animal kingdom to be reduced to small sects that spanned across the different corners of each continent. After all, there would be no conflict if two parties could never meet. In order to defend themselves against monsters, animals became the new monsters - or perhaps monsters became animals. Have you ever wondered where they come from? Unspeakable horrors that plague our world through the sheer unstable rifts caused by their malice. Monsters that seep into our world, driven to make us become animals, so that we may start where they have failed. Out of theirs, and into ours.

  3. Bit of a nitpick but might need to specify this in the redlines, bc of how you worded it is just seems like it's just IC consent. The hard truth is that it's extremely hard, or rather impossible, to predict what a player can do. Even if you do not want it to happen, it will eventually happen. @Delmodancouldn't have put what I was trying to convey any better. Even if you say that it cannot be used this way, a bundle of players will roleplay it like that. OOCly, the verdict has already been set in stone from the moment they've been given an inch to make a mile out of. I've seen it happen before with Yeu's 'no lying' rule for example and this freeform version of it is a more hazardous alternative.
  4. Is this IC or OOC consent? Passengers should, at the very least, be able to choose on when they can leave the dream. This is, in my opinion, a spell that should be audited from the lore. It seems to have a lot of room for powergaming and low-effort roleplay. "Yes, your honor. I'm innocent, come into my lucid dream and I'll show you that this person is actually the guilty one." Agreeing with @AmericanSimpthat the teaching process should be given some more depth as well, but I like how freeform it is. All in all it's a very interesting concept but not one I can see working well on LOTC just for my own personal reasons
  5. 1. been playing dark dael for a little over a year iirc from the small age of five years old and now he's grown into the dark lord 2. one of the things i did while playing dael was focusing on the fact that he is a character that is only good because he changes so much, he's a character based on progression, so i make him go through 'arcs' to mirror his mental state or having it display some pretentious metaphor 3. i'd say the character that dael has had the most kinship with was probably either snow's character jeffery or spoons' character ehmet due to the fact that he's just known jeff for about the longest, while ehmet's interactions with dael albeit short paved a way into how i play dael now - with a bit more courage 4. i leave that up to people to perceive since i dont like ranking my own actions 5. this art piece i got from bobateaa - it's my favorite one that i have of dael atm 6. a lot of people i feel thought or still think that i play dael as a meme character especially with how i played him early on when he was a adolescent but it was all for a purpose. through character interaction and experiences he developed into person he is today
  6. i did not mean to ask a personal question
  7. how much art do you have for your characters
  8. im on story team so its been a while since ive seen light in general so i wouldnt know
  9. I really like it, trying to imagine a material 'absorbing light' is a bit confusing to me but it's a good concept
  10. love the art for this creature and the concept, but i do agree that it would require some depth. ill give you some advice from one player to another regarding stuff like this so you dont completely burn yourself out writing stuff like other people have 1. ignore the trolls like the people here, but take actual criticism to heart 2. you should probably change the name of the creature since it does seem to be a bit memey, people will have to be saying it irp most likely if it gets accepted and that can be kind of immersion-breaking for some people 3. definitively follow lumi's advice on looking at past lore posts (mainly the implemented ones rather than the denied ones lol) 4. dont write any lore for the sake of it being accepted, more-so either to provide to a narrative, niche, or just because you think it's a fun idea if you wanna talk on it more let me know in story discord my discord is bldstlk#6616, glhf
  11. pudding my nuts in your mouth @aiden0023that's how it's done, rookie.
