  1. this is genuinely not a jab at you or the creators that im sure worked hard to flesh this out as a good rewrite of telekinesis but what is positive rp in your definition of the term? there are certain routes that i believe something so broad like telekinesis can take rather than just a voidal magic gaining a vague understanding of something the 'force' that is defined in this post just via a matter of the passage of time. the reason why elemental voidal magics work well as a simple combat magic is because the topic itself is already defined and very simple - while telekinesis is something, especially in this rewrite isnt very fleshed out as anything but a means to an end (that is, to use the magic at all). the general redlines of the magic at t3 say that it cannot carry anything no heavier than an anvil. a simple google search shows that an anvil is 75-500 lbs. in my personal opinion it'd be better to flat out give a specific weight to each tier so that confusion won't be a thing, as vagueness in magic is usually what leads to powergaming - as well as @Screecher's comment on how this rewrite doesnt really solve the magic's previous problem on how weapons were used to powergame the magic (even if they are limited to only blunt weapons). it's even worse at tier five, where something that is a literal ton (as long as its two blocks wide/tall) can be thrown as 'fast speeds' towards someone. how fast is fast? does this mean i can essentially become a human cannon so long as i make them small enough to fit in my palm but heavy enough to act as a cannon by making it out of say, carbarum? (google says the largest cannonballs were only 68 pounds, going to guess this is the maximum) can i also stop cannonballs in the air by using telekinetic impulse on them? this spell is incredibly overpowered due to the vagueness of the magic in general. 'coerce' is a fairly simple term, as it implies that the user doesnt have to give up their weapon once this spell is cast. however, this is the same magic that can carry something that weighs as much as a ton at its endgame. does this mean that a force that equates to a ton will be pulling against someone? does this mean that a person has no choice but to give up their weapon? in the redlines of this spell it says weapons cannot be carried with this. weapons is, again, a vague term if you take into account that people will just carry spikes of metal with them and say they're not weapons because they arent used like the 'proper' weapons you mean to define in this post, like swords and stuff. just about anything that can carry enough blunt or piercing force can be considered a weapon. a pickaxe isnt a weapon but can be used like one. does this count? another scenario: say im the greatest telekinester in the land, and i am against a bunch of people. does this mean i can carry six slabs of metal on me and basically use it to deflect any arrow or sword? again i didnt respond to this to make fun of the maker's hard work, and if i've said anything in my criticisms that is wrong please let me know, like if ive missed the existence of a certain redline.
  2. resignation is only the beginning to your legend
  3. Thank you for taking the time to write this
  4. The lore is certainly cute and extensive, allowing for the community to have a lot to talk about when rping amongst themselves - and I do enjoy the thought of little mouse people. However, for the server, I don't think it'll work (at least for your intended amount of time). If this lore does get accepted I feel like it'll be popular for the first few months then slowly trickle its way into inactivity as the amount of players that actually do make a CA for this will become cultural parasites for nations rather than making a group of their own to rp amongst themselves. This is in no way a bad thing, I simply do not think that the playerbase will last more than a few months. That being said, while I very well know that this is not your intent - people will powergame with this CA due to the loose guidelines on their natural abilities. This is not something that can be easily fixed either. It gives them room to dodge however many times they want as long as it barely scratches the surface of powergaming due to their agile forms. On top of this, their ability to learn magic doesn't make a lot of sense when taking account their small bodies and lesser souls. But it is pretty funny how you can just make a ratatouille mouse with this with housemagery LOL. All in all I like the idea of it, but there are some pros and cons I want to point out in summary: Pros: -Fun idea that allow for fun rp -Offers a more diverse species to choose from other than the main races -interesting backstory and pieces of their culture Cons: -A high chance for it to be a 'flavor of the month' CA, with its communities only serving to be the passerby spectacle in an Oren tavern until its finally shelved (take Wonks for example). -High chance of powergaming even if it is not the intent of the creators of this lore. -Some things don't make a lot of sense such as their capability for learning magic I hope you don't take my criticism personally since I do like the funny lore, but it's a -1 for me. If it does get accepted however, I call dibs on making a mouse-man housemage.
  5. The Dark Lord was kneeling. A rare sight. Before him stood a pile of ash, perhaps the remnants of some bonfire. That man remembered the rhythm of his flickering pyre, the soft trails of the wisps of smoke, and the smell of a burning corpse. It was anger that blinded him to commit the act of violence, a broken creed upon his clan. To not directly involve himself with such a matter, he went straight to the source to beg for forgiveness - and to grieve. His hands remained clasped together in a sort of prayer, any prayer, for him. Soon, his hands trailed down to rest upon his sides, those verdant eyes covered with a thin layer of mist. Pursing his lips, he glanced up at the sky, wondering if that man was there to hear him. And so, with no one there to listen, he began to speak; "When the two of us had met you, I'm sure that neither of us knew that he would become your patron. He talked to you with a gleam in his eye, and you helped revitalize his birthright- so, I'm certain he was forever grateful to you after that point. I've offered all that I can to you, so take care of him, Malchadiael. Allow him to find glory in his next life until he's finally reunited with his beloved." Dark Dael then inhaled through his nostrils, finding his one and only prayer now concluded as he rose to a stand. His hands loosely fell limp at his sides, taking a moment before finally releasing his gaze from the horizon - and he walked, back to the darkness. There was still much more work to do.
  6. @The Green Wizard Remember our contract, Laetranis. That vile thought echoed through his head after he had skimmed the missive, the Dark Lord bringing his pale digits up to smoothly slick back his stark white hairs as he turned to face the mali'ame nearby. "Kairn, as promised, I'll remain by your side for a tad longer. I'm interested to see how this plays out." He paused then, for the shortest moment. "Do not think a shrine will be the end of this." Whether or not the fellow patriarch was listening, the figure had continued, his legs carrying himself out of the darkness of the room as he advanced towards the Druid. "The secret is time. People I've stowed great malice for now stand by my side, fighting alongside me. Time will heal Laetranis' wounds - it is only a matter of it. You will never see your beloved son again, so I made sure that he will not see his own for the rest of his days. In the long lives your people live - never, never again, will he be able to see the smile of a newborn babe brought to his clan." A finger was brought forth to point at Kairn himself, the man not giving him time to respond. "Time will affect you to. As your ally, Kairn, never let time consume you. Stow that darkness away deep into your heart, let it fester and corrupt you until it's time to reveal itself. Never forget the feeling, that cold chill you felt when you saw your son's corpse, the warmth of his pyre." "I will be there to witness your darkness." Then, picking up his katana by its sheathe, Dark Dael went to exit the room - allowing the Kairn to ponder on his words.
  7. Deep within the bowels of some nonspecific dark, forgotten ruin, a stout figure had been resting under the ceiling of cracked earth. He carried about him a melancholic gaze as he sat and pondered about events that have passed, and events that have yet to come. Lightning bugs not far away carried their soft emerald glow over to him, one landing upon his hand. He lifted his finger to find his gaze meeting the little creature, its elytra spreading wide to reveal its brilliant gleam. Taking a stand, the insects were dismissed with a slow wave of his hand as the man exited these stone remains, a tight squint being lifted to the stars overhead after he strode through its back door- and there, the man did let out a small sigh. Not soon after exiting the broken temple he rode, the tracks of his steed scarring the soil beneath its legs. Dark Dael rode, those dull eyes of his set upon those events to come.
  8. A hand soon drifted across a nondescript table in some nondescript tower, pale digits sliding over a thin piece of parchment before soon picking up a mundane quill. There, the tip of such was brought into a pot of ink and sent astray - a missive soon being formed. Whether or not this dark lord intended on actually sending it.. was still up to events to come.
  9. i would edit this to say that they can reapply if their MA, TA, or CA was still up prior to the shelving otherwise im a really big fan of this rewrite, good job luv - i just hope that people will be good sports about it and wont abuse the existence of aesthetics to metagame people for being shades
  10. @MikoMonster Hovered behind the armored widow, that familiar sage previewed the missive prior to hearing her full-hearted plea to the nonexistent bystanders, her kin. The man glanced to her then, after such a comment, taking a moment to finish reading the document's message before moving to sit near her. "They say the pen is mightier than the sword," He began to utter as he did so, his figure relaxing against the spine of his chair. "I do nay know if that is true in this instance."
  11. "How did he write this if he was blind?" A mundane sage thought this to himself as he read over the strange missive.
  12. I'm a fan so far of this. It's not really unique in what it does - as a few other lore pieces have sort of filled this niche, but I can see why you tried to fill a similar niche with this in only aesthetic changes. There is, however, a few things that I think should be adjusted to fit with LOTC in my opinion. @Mordhaundpretty much summed it up in his response. It's nigh impossible to completely stop powergaming or metagaming with a lore piece, but there are some better approaches to minimize the chance of it happening. My opinions ((you dont have to take my word for it im just putting down my two cents): Downsides and added details: Again, see Mord's response since I genuinely agree with the points he made- especially on how Dreamforging doesn't really go into the toll it takes or how any advanced usage would strain the human body or mind, nor does it touch on any real limits on the feat itself; rather it just says they cannot do [X] until [X]. Magic Slots: Since it's a magic powered from mana, I believe it would make more sense if it required one or two magic slots to have - since this is just an aesthetic thing though, I don't think it needs to require all five slots lol. The extent of Dreams and Nightmares: Dreams can be a very powerful aspect of the mind and I'd really like to see more written up about this as I feel that as the piece is now, it can be abused to abuse the mental state of someone rather than just the physical state. Furthermore, a missed opportunity I feel (whether that be because you wanted to make this simple which I also respect) is to delve into the concept of nightmares and how it'd work in this feat. All in all, I do hope something like this gets accepted, and I'm generally unaware if anything like this already exists like in Farseer as you've stated. I implore you not to think that my opinions should be taken as fact - simply as my own opinions i'd If you do agree with Mord and I on the changes that we suggested, I'd genuinely be happy to assist you in doing so. Hit me up in forum DMs if you'd allow me to help.
  13. Bringing the missive of such a zealous request into the seventh tavern today, a ginger man is soon chased out in a chaotic fury, broken bottles and claims of harassment being thrown at him - failing to find a suitor for the radiant Jack. "I have failed you once again, my fellow legend." He echoed within his own mind, warm tears exiting the corners of his verdant eyes.
  14. genuinely have never been this invested in a manga/anime in a while since i got back into one piece again simply bc of how fun it is to theorize on whats gonna happen in the last two chapters
  15. 1. who is your favorite character on lotc that you've played 2. who is your favorite character on lotc that you've seen someone else play 3. most interesting culture you've seen another group write/play 4. favorite weapon to use irp 5. why are your muscles bigger than my head 6. favorite movie you've watched so far in the past few months 7. would you agree the holy tribunal for candy flavors is watermelon/green apple/blue 8.
  16. interacting and listening to the storys of other players and guiding them on their way to making their character grow
  17. apple juice or orange juice it really depends on if i want to drink liquid piss or a shitty beverage
  18. We talked briefly in DMs about your situation and I want to make sure that you take my advice to heart - feel free to come back so we can roleplay or something once you got your life sorted out; you're a genuine guy Henry and remember there's no need to rush the recovery of your mental health. Take things one step at a time, my DMs are always open if you want to chill, play games, or converse of senseless nothings. See you later! My questions: 1 ) Why'd you join LOTC? 2 ) What is the best roleplay you've had at the top of your head? 3 ) Favorite character you've played, and the favorite character you've seen someone else play. 4 ) Any communities you wish you could have RP'd with more but never got the chance to yet?
