[!]The Wood Elf Appearance Guide[!]

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello Folks. I am here to address a bit of an issue in Elven RP.

Dark Elves are easily identifiable by being well, Dark and grey.

High Elves are easily identifiable by being pale, and silver or light blonde in hair colour.

What makes a wood elf unique? Well, right now...Not much. Not much that is COMMON KNOWLEDGE, anyways.

This is a guide for new and old players on what your wood elf should look like, before you say I'm too controlling your character's appearance, lemme just point out making a red skinned dark elf wouldn't fly, so I would implore you to read this through.

First:

This is Elorna, a typical wood elf. What identifies her as a wood elf?

TANNED/BROWN SKIN.

DARK HAIR.

GREEN/NATURE ORIENTED CLOTHING.

Do all wood elves need to look exactly like her, nah.

Here's another Random wood elf. As you can see, wood elves CAN be blonde, since Tanned skin differenciates them from High Elves. The clothes are still brown/green and nature based, however.

And finally we have this lady, who is presumably a dryad. Note how the skin is still tanned/brown (that's important). Dying your hair in natural colours like green is also common for wood elves.

TL:DR

TO SUMMARIZE:

Wood Elves almost always have:

1. TANNED SKIN (This is pretty mandatory.)

2. GREEN OR NATURAL CLOTHING

3. DIRTY BLOND TO RED/BROWN HAIR.

If you play a wood elf DO NOT

1. Have peach/pale skin.

2. Have white or silver hair (Half breeds exempt.)

Hope this helped. And hopefully wood elves will start becoming distinct amongst High Elves and dark elves again.

Here are some more skins for your guidance:

Also, thank you birdwhisperer for the skins.

Yay for wood elves!

Also, if anyone needs a skin for a wood elf, or has an elf skin they need wood elf-ized, just shoot me a PM and I'll help you out for free. New skins may take longer, though.

I think white/silvery hair is okay for wood elves too if it isn't distinctly shiney like HE have it. The reason being is elves age as well and some wood elves might have grey/white hair in their elder years.

What about the Albinos or the ones with skin defects?

Also, I am all for preaching the lore but . . .

If it's something like "You cannot look like this this and this"

Then I retort with "Why the hell not?"

I want to make a neon green skinned dark elf, because why the hell not? Wood elves are tanned, that is the lore, since a white dark elf would not be allowed peach wood elves are also against lore.

What if Wood Elves wanna wear other clothing?

Go for it, I'm not your mom.

A single hair colour might not be a bad idea, having them brown to ginger only.

Because this is for Wood Elves wanting to keep to the cultural identity.

Maybe, but many wood elves are blonde, and the lore does say they can be. I do encourage you making your wood elf with darker skin though

Also Eleyas brings dishonour to family.
