Tattered Notes Along The Stone Road

Notes lay scattered across the Stone Road, from nearing the Cloud temple, to the steps of the home of the Dwed, from the Red Rose Tavern, to the gates of The Silver city of High Elves and Cerulin, and onward. They seem to be written in a neat way, each note looking identical.

"There are many who seem to understand that life is waning, that immortality is not true for any race, the elves can live for hundreds of years, maybe even more, but they are fragile, breakable. Their immortality pales in comparison with which I have been gifted. Those who try to break me and kill me find me days later, reassembled and fixed, while your life teeters on a decision of not 'Who will help me' or 'Who will protect me', but your body's decision to lose all hope.

If you seek true immortality, to break the chains of being a simple bag of flesh, you are desired, your form will be melded and in time you will be granted the strength of a Dread Knight. A bastion of metal, one who will serve the rest of their life as an immortal.

But that is for you to decide, would you deny your right to true immortality, or would you join me, join us, in your newly formed vessels.

The Dread Lord awaits"

It seems like someone has been writing for the Dread lord, but the choice is yours, as the note said, will you join them or not?

((Hey guys, so as of last night I was made the Dread lord, and I'm currently working on getting the Dread Knights out of Inactivity, however I need your help to do that.

Archibald grimaces as he reads the message, then lets out a sigh upon seeing who the note is signed by. "Absolutely disgusting. I, for one, enjoy being able to touch, sleep, and eat." Archibald promptly begins to amble around Haelun'or, removing as many of these notes as possible.

Za'roc notices a sign while on his way to the Red Rose tavern. After taking some time to read over it, he spits on it, tears it down, and walks off in disgust.

"Ayy', Herun. Time for another massacre!" He wails as he struts himself into Heruns crib waving the found note. A heavy halberd strung behind his back and his body adorned in a battle plate not seen for some decades now.

Caladrius picks up the letter and reads it "Serve as an immortal? And whom do they serve? A tool serving itself serves no one."

Lyuin duly notes the notes scattered: whether on his way to the tavern or even between the cities, he soon decides they may not just be simple advertisements and decides to read one. His eyes narrow as he reads the title 'Dread Lord' at the bottom of the note. Somewhat consciously, he folds the note in a quarter-square before tucking it in his pocket. Seems evil had been stifled, not doused.

((Nice to see someone trying to get the Dreadknights back in action))

After reading the note a few times, the Dread Lord backhands its scribe and says "Serve?! You were not supposed to put that in!"

Ramza looks to the note on his tavern, blinking a few times. "Guess its time..." he sighs with a shrug.

Ker'vuln grips the spear in his left hand, reading over the note.

"Cernunnos, Cerridwen. Lend me your strength."

Elvi looks at the note and shakes her head with disgust. "What's the point in becoming immortal? It'll just become purely a curse and you'll have to watch all your allies die while you remain the same. If anything, I'd rather be able to grow old and die than just be immortal for all eternity." With a huff, she takes the poster down and happily sets it on fire, she then continues down the road.

Taynuel grabs one of the notes as he walks past, reading over it with his staff over his shoulder. He's quiet for a while, mouthing the words as he reads, before shaking his head. He crumples the paper up and tosses it into the first campfire he sees along his way.

"Oh, yeah, there's a good idea. Let's all bind our souls to useless hunks of metal, forsake all ties to what is natural, and live forever until our armor gets so old and rusted that we can't move and must lie until the end of the world. Real brilliance right there," he grumbles, rubbing his right ear as he passes into the thick woods further south.

(( Too many people MG the full extent of Dread Knights D: ))

Zar'roc peers around at all of the notes, taking a couple of them down on his travels. "Beuhn immortul ahm nub'hozh, whomevah' diz 'Dread Lowd" ez"

Argothin steps down the road and stumbles along the note, after reading it he simply lets the note be."Why? It would make life so much more uninteresting. Knowing you have literally all the time in the world to do whatever you want. Sooner or later, there would be nothing left to do. It's an interesting concept, but I'll pass." Argothin then sits and pulls a book from his backpack and writes a small letter to also put on the note on the post reading: "To those of you who would be enraged by this note, this is not necessarily an evil or disgusting thing. Just an offer. Take it or leave it, don't get mad at a note." Argothin would then smirk at ,what he assumes were, the enraged reactions to this note and walks away. "Perhaps that comment was unnecessary, but I've probably caused at least one person less stress."

Slowly, the notes disappear from the roads, it appears the Dread lord has done what was needed, having its newly inducted members remove them as they see them. It would seem that no note was left remaining.

((Locking, need archiving))
