Castus nods simply, "If it is so. Let us hear Bishop John's counsel on the matter, brother."

"It is not only Brother Bishop John's call, but the call of all the Bishops to vote for something like this brother."

"It is not only Brother Bishop John's call, but the call of all the Bishops to vote for something like this brother."

Castus sighs, "I did not ask for his judgement, simply for his counsel. I'm sure you'd agree that his opinion is a valued one within the synod."

The scribe bangs his gavel against the podium on which he stands, all nine votes having been counted.

"Attention! Attention! The votes have been ascertained."

He stands upright, adjusting his blue doublet and the lorraine cross chain which hung over it.

"No candidate has achieved the required majority. Furthermore, Archbishop Alexios I of Oren has been struck from the voting round. Begin round two of voting with the remaining three candidates:

Prelate Signus,

Metropolitan Iosif,

Archbishop Castus."

The scribe hands the container of ballots to a valet, who ensures that black smoke, signifying the lack of a High Ecclesiarch, will billow from the chamber's chimney. Meanwhile, another valet patrols around the room with another collection box, waiting for the elector-priests to cast their votes again.

((The people who sent votes to me before need to do so again, this time with one of the three new candidates.))

Kaelys frowns at the Alexios losing the vote. He looks over the three names for a few moments before preparing his next vote.

No candidate has achieved the required majority. Furthermore, Archbishop Castus II of Herendul has been struck from the voting round. Begin round three of voting with the remaining two candidates:

Prelate Signus,

Metropolitan Iosif."

Signus Cross, while casting his ballot, requests the guards to escort the dwarf out.

Signus then walks over to the altar.

"Thank you, holy men of the church. With your duties in mind to represent the Creator and all his holiness, did you cast your votes on these fine days. It is with great surprise that I see that the last round of voting is beginning. I see the faces of fellow clergyman here today. And, as well as you, am truly grateful for soon being able to see the first head of the Church of the True Faith to be elected. Whether it is I, a humble prelate or my good friend, his Eminence Archbishop Iosif is entirely up to you. It is with great pleasure I stand here as we near this moment. Not as a candidate to be the head of this Mighty Church. But as a servant of the Creator. Waiting to see the future. I appreciate that we have all come here today to make a difference in this church. So, today, we will come across a new future for the Church. A new beginning. Deus Vult!"

Iosif stands beside his good friend Signus, clasping his hand.

"Da, we stand here today not as rivals, but as brothers, united in our faith and common goal; the success of the Church and the well being of all God's children. Win or lose, I believe that both of us have the ability to lead the Church to victory, and much good will come to follow. As I said before, this is not a competition, and it should not be treated as such. We as the clergy firmly believe that God inspires our votes today, and He himself will pick his shepherd of the people here in Anthos. The chosen victor will, without a doubt, be the one God has chosen to bring his people to glory. So rejoice, my brothers, for today is a happy day. Today, no matter the outcome, we move forward as a Church, as a people, to a brighter future."

He blesses the congregation before speaking once more.

"Saint Godwein of Huntshill, pray for us."

Iosif then submits his vote to the collector.

Castus nods in relief, glances between the two men, pauses for but a moment, and casts the final ballot.

Alexios I stands up, his bristic wolf pelt on his shoulders, and the cross of the creator hanging from his neck

"Brothers, Friends, and fellow clergy. We get closer to a new age of the church. It is now I step down as Archbishop of Oren to the bishop of Cavan to make way for the new High Ecclesiarch. May the creator bless us, and guide us to finding the new High Ecclesiarch."

The scribe, for one final time, bangs his heavy gavel onto the podium.

"Attention! Attention in the stands!

Noble attendees, I can reveal that the votes have been counted.

Prelate Signus Cross has both eliminated the last candidate and obtained the required majority of seven out of nine votes, therefore becoming High Ecclesiarch-elect, to take a papal name and take power in no less than one elven week. We invite the candidate to the podium to deliver a speech of acceptance."

The scribe hands the container of ballots to a valet. White smoke billows from the chimneys of Herendul's Ecclesiastical chamber, signifying that at long last the Church has a High Ecclesiarch.

((im done, seeya nerds))
