Iosif prays and weeps silently in the halls of the Dreadfort, next to his father. It was a good run...

Well Cracker, I got to know you pretty well in the few months that we were involved in each other's roleplay. You were a chill guy, and a great leader, and I'll miss you. It's good to see you could sort out priorities and for that I'm proud of you. I'll miss wars with you, diplomacy talks, and constantly trying to get into the Carrion skype chat. Hope I wasn't too annoying while you were here, have fun in college, get laid my son.

"Yes, come in, the door is open."

Silus glances up from the table on which he has been working on a lock mechanism, as the door opens and a grey-haired man enters.

"Ah, Beron. Surprised to see you here, what brings to Abresi?"

Beron moves into the small room, crammed full with chests, gears, mechanisms, keys, lockpicks, tools and many more things.

"I... have some news for you, Silus. You may not like them. Here, this note arrived in Schattenburg this morning."

Beron shoves a note over the table, a curious Silus picking it up. Silus fields a concerned expression as he sees Beron's face. Flicking open the note, he hastily begins to read. After a while, a sigh.

"Good lord. But... was to be expected, wasn't it?" - "Yes. He was very old after all." - "Beron... would you mind to leave? I believe I have to... be alone for some time." - "Surely Silus."

...

"Siegmund Carrion. I first met you on the bridge between Corazon and the forests of Salvus. Odd enough, you declared me homosexual that day. It was amusing how much I irritated you. Who would have expected at that day that you would become Emperor yourself? Who would have expected that things turn out like this? Well, by now you are dead and I am only a locksmith in Abresi. Politics and time made us to what we are or in your case were.

It is difficult to speak at this moment. You were the last Lord of old times. I admit, by times you seemed like a mountain. Against all odds, standing firm. I disliked the way you rose to power, I admit, yet again I worked with you and for you. For the sake of the greater good, we caused pain and hate. For stability in the Human realms. Heh, I consider most people do not even care about that. I have been backstabbed by you, I backstabbed others. Politics. Always around that thing. And I still hold a certain grudge against Tuv, yet again, seeing he is your son, I believe I am not capable of straight out killing him, despite all what would be just.

I was never supposed to become King in the first place. I was at the very end of the line. I became king. And I knew what you wanted to achieve. And thus I sacrificed. I sacrificed in order to achieve the same goal. I was willing to burden myself with hate, emptiness and depressions, just to aid you in your goal. Have we suceeded? Sometimes I am happy to look at Abresi, the natural landscapes, the peace for which we have been striving. On the other hand, I am desperate, watching the still ongoing hatred of outside nations and factions against Oren, of which only the name remains in some sense, but in the end, not what it has been. The old lords have perished or vanished. The old times are over, another generation is at turn to make the best out of it.

At this point I believe I will ever see a time of peace. Will the dwarves step down? Will there be an end to rebellions? It does not feel a lot like that to me. You know, Siegmund, I am tired. Tired and empty.

I believe Siegmund, your passing tells me, I should go to rest, settle down. A home in Abresi I have obtained already, having a small locksmith business which I should get started a bit. Heh, the last dragon going to rest. I do not know what my cousin or my nephew will do, but I wish them safe days and insight to settle down like I should. Let me conclude this little speech now. Should the creator give two fecks about me, I hope that we can meet again.

It was an honor Siegmund. You have done your part, let's hope, it is not in vain."

Silus glances out into the vast ocean, the sinking sun reflecting on his armor. A nod and a few moments of gazing, Silus takes a necklace out of his satchel, bearing an old Imperial Seal. A tired sigh and a toss into the vast open sea. The Last Dragon goes to rest.

Nero sits with his Cousin William as they hear, the Twin Dragons reactions are both very different

"Well then..." Nero paused "He did do some good... I'll admit that, but his last name is off putting..."

William looks at him a moment "Shut up and help me dig up the chest..,"

Nero smiled slightly "Are you sure cousin?"

"Of course... I deserve more..."

Kord Steelwall sits in the Crow Club, drinking some Carrion White out of a tarnished tankard, sipping slowly while he watches his father process the news of Siegmund's death.

Lark glances at his son and sighs, "'e wos goo' man Kord, Great man actually..."

He pauses, going to walk to the Never Empty Kegs and holds his mug under the Carrion Black tap, filling it halfway.

"'e wos a grand commander, emperor, an' above all, a good friend."

Lark sips the Carrion Black, recalling his adventures and deeds while Siegmund was alive.

From taking tabards off Teutons back when he first arrived to the siege on the Dreadfort. It was Siegmund who gave Lark the chance to utilize what little skill he had in blacksmithing, and became great, it was Siegmund who recognized Lark's talent with swordsmanship, and encouraged him to use it. His thoughts pranced back to the only recent Battle of the Shadowcastle, recalling Siegmund directing ballista fire with Lark. To think that battle would be his last...

Lark drank deep of the ale that stood for Raevir pride and honor, and looked at his son, who came back with him at the young age of seven, now a nearly grown fifteen. Kord had never met Siegmund, but he was well aware of the importance he had in his life. Kord looked back at his grief stricken father, who understood his grief. They clinked their mugs and held them high.

"Carry on Carrion."

The Bristiric people congregate to the church within Cavan, chanting hushed prayers. The Archbishop of Oren call for the mass' attention, preaching vehemently thereafter. As the sermon concludes, William Dunham is seen tracing the Lorraine Cross on his chest, muttering under his breath, "May t'e Creator 'elp us find ligh' in these dark times.."

((You accomplished some impressive feats, reviving humanity in a time of dire weakness. It's sad to see such an impact on the server depart.))

The peasants, who haven't eaten non-rotten food in ages, quickly take the cheese and bread then run off as suddenly as they came.

Cracker, I wanted to get your opinion on something. I do not know if I will make a post, considering that many may not give two shits to admit this truth. Do you believe the below is something you agree with being a problem with this game nowadays?

"In the beginning of Aegis, which coincided pretty close to a
multiplayer-friendly Minecraft, it was a time of curiosity in what we
could do on this game. People came for fun and with a mature, adult
administration that loved to compromise and saw the game as a sort of
small business where they carried agreed-upon authority and kept out of
sight, out of mind. We had a healthy amount of goodwilled players that
did not, at least from my experience, seek to preserve themselves in the
game. We understood it as a video game, as Minecraft, and played by
it's setting and limitations and felt content. The real issue came about
when certain individuals began to attach themselves to Lord of the
Craft in deeper ways, I can't play judge and jury and will not even try
to mention names of those responsible. This is a little recognize and
often 'pushed under the carpet' issue with multiplayer video games,
individuals seek to compliment themselves by striving for a heightened
and applauded place - an escapism if you will. This is not restricted to
video games, this is no new fact that folks turns to certain interests
with the desire to fill voids where present, be that due to family
problems or a feeling of pessimism and/or not finding their place in
"reality". The issue then turned into these certain individuals
blatantly trying to fight to retain what they had. The issue with
attachment is the desire to have it remain completely the same."

I agree. Something I've noticed is that people will do things that will have them be remembered in this game before they do anything that is fun, and they will do things that are fun for themselves before they consider how much fun they take away from other people as well.

The greatest are those who are not remembered.
