*A gentle breeze blows across the glassy sea as a bottle washes up upon the shore. Bending down, you remove the cork and unroll a somewhat worn, but official looking document. You begin to read:

Let it be known that upon this day a royal decree has been issued. The time since I last gave such a decree is inconsequential: the power in our ink does not dry. Know that it contains within it the full power of my crown with the confidence and support of my royal court whom I have retained with me during my lengthy voyage. I have sailed from strange land to strange land with the remnants of my navy, seeking my lost Queen missing after the demise of Asulon. She has been returned to us and so I refocus my efforts to the restoration of my Kingdom.

Let it be known that Alras lives again. Like the phoenix, she shall rise once more from the ashes brought about by those callous few who cared for her not. Our enemies may be few or many, but it matters not. Alras has withstood adversities far more vile than any mortal power could be. We have tasted the air of a burning world. Yet still, Alras shall be restored for she persevered in her citizens and in my own royal blood. Enemies of Alras, beware. For our steel shall drink deeply of your red blood while we bathe in the golden blood of your vaults. Those who have forgotten us, you shall be delivered from your ignorance into rapturous enlightenment.

I understand that much has changed since Alras last glimpsed the world: nations have risen and fallen, many have lived and died. To those who never had the chance to have known us, know that an old golden glory returns to the world. While the land and the people may have changed, one thing has not: the worship of the Mina. To those who offer me their trust, you shall find a great benefactor. To the fledgling new powers of the world, I have a simple ultimatum to deliver.

Look to the horizon, and see the return of the Great Merchant Nation. What you give unto her, I shall give back unto you. We shall answer gold with gold, and steel with steel. Wealth or woe – choose wisely.
