  1. 1. Are there too many psychopaths? (And what ever happened to 3-5 on the server?)

  2. 2. Are there too many murderers? (Particularly those with no good reason. Insanity is not a good reason. Bad history is not a good reason. Motive, means, and legitimate criminal psychology is a good reason.)

It's pretty sad to me when a thread auctioning off your IC son as a slave just makes you groan and "Oh, not this again. I did this two days ago. Do I have to do it again?"

I don't want to be tired of LotC. I am tired of LotC. Shouldn't it be fun, not a chore? "Well, time to deal with the /seventh/ villain in the past three days. Guess I should stay online... sigh. I don't want to do this, but there's no IC excuse."

Oh, great, someone got stabbed. Oh, someone died. They'll be back anyway. It's old news. Someone got kidnapped? Guess I don't get to sleep yet... again. It happens again, and again, and again. Good villains are losing credit because any remotely interesting thing they can do is done to death, and it's tedious now. Villainy isn't fun for me, and I can't help wondering if other people feel the same way.

I've about lost the will to care, which makes it tedious and oh so hard to play a character that does care. IC actions shouldn't make me genuinely tired OOC, and especially not my own character's. Propose solutions if you feel like villainy is old as well, yub yub.

I agree and quite honestly I think VAs are the main problem. When you stop glorifying villainly as some form of advanced ascended RP that only GOOD RPers are capable of people will stop playing villains.

That, and enforce the 3-5 psychopaths rule.

Fiend, I agree, there are too many villains on the server. Yet, people will roleplay the characters as they wish, trying to change that isn't going to help. I personally believe that people should be willing to roleplay villainous characters if they wish to, even if it can get a bit old. Besides, some of these people just starting will grow into the new Knox, or another infamous villain. I simply say let it slide, and let people roleplay as they please. Shun them IC for such behavior, not OOC.

I completely agree. When I log on to see someone got stabbed or kidnapped my reaction isn't "Oh no! Better go help them!" It's "another one?" These acts of evil are getting out of hand. It is to the point where it isn't fun anymore, it's just a piece of work to deal with. What is wrong with normal day to day rp? Can villains not go a few days without killing/torturing someone? If anything there could be a limit on villainous acts per week, I know that would anger some but at least it would calm down the amount of evils happening. I suppose this is just my opinion, what does everyone else think?

I agree, it's a pain / thorn in my butt personally right now as well.

I've never had any of these problems.

Then villains might ought to spread out. If some people get none and others get too much, that's just... sigh.

Honestly, I support just dealing with it in RP. Crack down on the baddies in the game world. Get more guards, more patrols. Make them want to leave.

It's not about cracking down, it's the tedium of having to. More patrols... more combat rp... again, and again, and again. Shun them, they come back. Again. The issue for me is just the tedium.

Remove Villain Applications altogether simply because they no longer serve their purpose nor benefit the server. We removed Magic Applications and the server didn't fall into ruin as foretold by the prophets. These are wasted efforts.

As for the amount of villainy, players are going to do what's fun for them. If villainy is fun for players, they ought to do it. If villainy's not fun for you, endure the occasional villainous encounter for the sake of others' enjoyment, do something else, let villains know you're not interested or find another server. Several villains shouldn't have to have their entertainment revoked or crimped simply because one player wants to do something else.

If villains are pushing the envelope repeatedly, simply tell them it's not really fun for you and it's cramping your style and ask them to lay off a bit. If they persist to the point of harassment, they're not really being a cooperative member of the community and you can just tell them to sod off at that point and get staff involved, taking it to revocations and ban reports if necessary. Just don't take on this pacifist, uncooperative attitude during every encounter or it's essentially you that's become the problem.

Players have to give and take for this server to work. The reason players dread these villains so much is because the majority of them have it in their mind that they're entitled to win every encounter.

I totally agree! Have your fun! But dealing with it is getting old. Pick new targets or something.

And I might find another server, which is slightly saddening. I like it here sometimes.

Not to sound rude but its because most villains don't know what they are doing. Most villains have never experienced actually taking a life or making someone truly suffer. Take a moment to really put yourself in that situation and rp how you felt about it. To fix this problem, I will have to agree with those who suggested completely removing the va system

Please no, and here's why I say this:

Some people legitimately do not enjoy non-villain RP. Some even aren't accepted villains, just people who enjoy role-playing victims. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, and with that in mind, neither you, me, your clique, or anyone on the server below the admins themselves have the right to take that away from them. This whole "REMOVE VILLAINS!" movement suggests an action so selfish and narrow-minded, it may or may not tear the server apart.

If you want less villains about, start doing something about it in RP, like augor1 said. Donate money or weapons to your local military, or form a militia to protect your settlement. Don't talk about it in OOC and say that there's something wrong with people having fun with violent RP when there really isn't.

(Sorry if this post is harsh but this is just my honest opinion on the subject)
