Patch 3.8_1 - Heatmap

Hi Guys,

 

For Patch 3.8_1 there has been a slight update to role play essentials to take advantage of the new features 1.7.2/1.7.4 have offered us and also I have added a plugin I myself coded heatmap!

It spawns mobs of varying amounts, difficulty and drop amount based on player walking heat so where there is more players normally hanging around there is less mobs and they are more weak and the ones further out should be more a real challenge to everyone! The most rare drop is the much desired music disks if you can actually get one is the challenge!

The weakest is 20% normal HP the strongest has 3 times HP with full diamond armour and weapon

From going out to experience this it seems like the plugin ya'll were talking about to keep people in groups in 4.0.

 

After having just been chased by 20 or 30 of these things, all at the same time and barely making it out with 1/2 a heart,

I think it is amazing... (in the monster's defence, I did go looking for an abandoned piece of land..)

 

Chainmail armor + iron sword... so glad I didn't grab my stone sword...

 

Don't give in to players saying they are too strong, that's that point.  Plus they drop random neat goodies :)

I like it right now, albeit have some questions/issues

 

Do regions set to deny mobs still work? Towns, with it and the like?

 

Also, is there anything that can be done to maybe make some areas less mob-heavy than others, regardless of heat? Monster hunting is one thing, but yesterday I was RPing with a friend in the woods near Malinor, and we got jumped by about two dozen mobs.

Looks neat, although I haven't seen it first hand yet. Love the idea of stronger mobs = better loot, should make monster hunting a viable profession in 4.0.
