The Kingdom of Ethiopia

The sudden winter in Ethiopia came by suprise. The outskirts of the kingdom died off as people went to the major fires in the crowded cities of Ethiopia. Food was not a problem, but the goverment did all kinds of attempts to keep the people warm. All people working for the goverment & military stationed in the warm and crowded palace. Outside fires where made and the market had torches all around it. Some people had to reside on the 'warm' streets because of their home being to cold. Expected is that several would not make it, but that is the harsh truth about life.

In the warm southern area of Ethiopia, where a minor part of the agriculture population resides. Haile attempted to make schools for his people. In the books in the palace he saw how people would sit, with someone who would explain new things to the children. This was possible, and would smarten the people. As the first cabin was build, 34 children and 3 tutors will start their class today. They will learn about the Islam and trade. But also about what they know of the past civilization. The teachers have salvaged books. However, they want to have more. Rumours go of an old structure in the western part of Addis. Its bleached golden letters said "Ethiopia Today", they say that old devices where there who could do such thing.  The machine seemed, besides rust, to be able to work. But Haile saw that it had similliar energy cables like the windmill. Haile orders his men to repair the cables and the machine, this could mean more books for the people!

Meanwhile, its school time!

While the Ethiopians in mainland struggle to survive and smile, good events happen on the boat send to sail into a random direction with building materials. The boat sailed straight ahead until they needed to use their remaining fuel to not wash away with the current. They reached land.. or whatever you would call it. Red with white flags stood on wet pillars, as wooden platforms floated on the silent waters. Huts made from salvage could be seen and some sort of Bazaar in the centre. The people all wore robes. As the sailors looked at the map and used their sense... one thing was certain. They reached Bahrain.. or whats left of it. They crashed into one of the platforms, breaking a hut as the boat gets stuck in the wood. The captain went outside with his hands in the air, awaiting how the Bahrainies would reply. As he stood on the boat he saw that the population of this wooden island was not large.. Around 20 people could be counted. However, some may remain in those strange huts.

((Mods please react how the survivors would react to a boat crashing into their selfmade wooden platforms))

In the Ethiopian goverment, things happen. A new flag was established, and people had a saying. Haile was respected, but not liked. The people thought he did what was necessary, but killing off the elders never would have been a proper solution.. But the Ethiopians had worser things to worry about. Meanwhile, the old sailing ship is send to the Sikh Empire, where rumours came to existance from the fishing boats of the Nakhar tribe.

Kingdom of Neo Sweden

alt__swedish_flag_by_ay_deezy-d30dnus.pn

High Queen Emilia stands in her coat at the raid camp of the Flash Raider army, five thousand raid soldiers amassed at the borders of the nearby cities. Neo Sweden lost 1 thousand to the winter, the losses shorted because of the clothing factory and raids for food. The other cities around Neo Swedish territory are sent one final missive, that if they do not submit they will die, their leadership wiped off the planet. Emilia herself prepares for battle, wearing a white trench coat in the command tent. The raid army has 40,000 total troops, 10,000 looting ruins of old cities, such as libraries and ancient hospitals, and the other thirty thousand preparing to march for war against the surrounding city-states. The soldiers are armed mostly with salvaged guns that have various parts switched out with new iron parts and machetes.

((Would a mod please respond as surrounding cities. I hope it's kept in mind they were raided multiple times over the winter, and food supplies were taken. They would have taken winter losses, I think.))

New Arab Republic

At north of Africa, in Egypt. Few cities remain barely untouch from war and the floodings of River Nile and Gulf of Sue. The attraction and the past of Ancient Egypt lies in the expanded red sea to never to see light again. The population of Egypt remain living in the harsh sand lands of Egypt in the farmlands Oasis villages and the new located capital city near the Mediterranean sea. Marsa Matruh.

The capital city was half destroyed by the outrage of the past, it was settled as a guarded fort for the people of Egypt in deep needs of defending and the Governors home. The New Arab Republic was a shadow of the past, the religion was converted back to Ancient Egyptian Gods. The military of the NAR armed with Egyptian scimitars and rusty old AK-47. Although the count of bullets in each guns are low of one magizine each.

Ahmed Salame, Governor of the New Arab Republic and elected from the people. He walks out into the balcony to fill the chill that he never felt before, the panick on the streets in the capital city of hunger and cold. The New Arab Republic began to having trouble with food resources as it has to be limited to the number population of 300,000. The streets and homes were lit with fire to combat the cold.

The Governor sent scouts to the west to attempt to find other survivors to perhaps work together against this aggression cold. The rumours of survivors in the south-east, the Governor sent scouts to investigate but he warned that the chances of survivial is low. Ten men of NAR Military took this chance, wrapped with many layers and began their departure from the village Mut.

Gothic Tribe of Nuuk

With the Icelandic camp in site as the Gothi sailors neared, the initial reaction was that of curiosity. However, as they got closer, the sailors became increasingly worried, due to the smoke rising from strange pillars of metal on the ships. The Gothi assured them that demons could not intervene in this world so directly. Still, if they weren't demons, then the only other explanation was people, something that made both exceptionally inquisitive, and more subtly anxious.

viking-landing-party1815615127.jpg?itok=

They made landfall some 800 metres West of the Icelandic camp. The sailors marched openly towards the encampment, with the Gothi at the helm of the band. As the distance decreased, the band could hear the jeers and shouts from the camp, and although they didn't recognise the tongue, the jolliness of their tone soothed them a little. The cartographer, one of the few men who could actually use a scribing tool in the party, was called to the front of the party beside the Gothi, and the whole band stopped as they stood before the camp. They began using the paper and quills to try and communicate with the new people, who looked quite similar to themselves, indicating their point of origin and asking for their own.

This exchange of pictures continued for a while, and after not too long each tribe discovered they had more similarities than differences, at least in culture. Soon, after convening, the Gothi determined that the new tribe was suitable for the Gothic Faith. They questioned the new tribe on their current religion, and afterwards, the Gothi began preaching their own, asking if there were any willing to relinquish their old faith, and see the truth and divinity of Gothicism.

Meanwhile, back at home, the smaller harvest reared it's ugly head. The High Gothi ordered that 1/5 of all food produced be put in preserved storage, and that the remainder would be kept track of as it was handed out, so that no more was consumed than was available.

National Actions

Due to the large number of casualties and losses from the winter, Farms will be expanded once more. Much more then before as labor is taken away from the mines and diverted to constructing and working farms. The State promises that enough food will be provided to last the winter, Stalingrad will not have its people starve.

Construction of Farm extensions and labor diversion (4 pages)

Lately a new mine was discovered containing lead, a small labor force is sent to at least bring in small percentages of this valuable resource.

200 Prisoners from the Historic Battle of Moscow are sent back to Stalingrad and are forced to work in the mines, slave labor increases production with minimal increase to food usage.

HORNED MEN OF ICELAND

On the home front, the spas found in the Volcano are kept secret to all, named a forbidden place - only to be used in times of freezing or subzero weather. The mining continues, several long canals that lead into where 'the great forge' will be. The temperature in the mines rise, and the distinct egg-y smell of sulphur becomes stronger. Half of the out going force returns, and continue with their jobs and normal lives.

The other tribes on the islands were bigger than expected, some even tripling the force of the Horned Men. The challenge of power was accepted heartily though, the men and women return to the camp to make ready for the long expedition. On their return, Queen Amelia orders for the mass production of gunpowder, used for bullets and ammunition for the captured cannons. After researching thoroughly for places that could be pre-war stockpiles of weapons during the English occupation and perhaps even before that, a scouting team of 100 men and teens go out to the estimated locations. These locations were estimated based on a majorly intact library from the Old Age and documents scavenged from a coast guard base a few years past. It is however unknown if much will be found... if any.

6_stockpile_weapons_200_1.jpg

As the Gothi explorers near the camp, they are halted by guards to make sure they weren't hostile. They were then led to the Longhall, where they spoke directly to Queen Amelia. They preached of their religion to the camp freely, the Queen and her tribe being quickly endorsed in the stories of the Gods. They are given welcome to stay in the village for a week, where they will be allowed to roam the tribe as if it were their own home. When they are expected to leave, they will be given a message to the High Gothi, stating about possible alliances and briefly about the expansion into Europe.

Food and weapons are starting to be reserved for the expedition to Europe. The force will consist of 300 volunteers, and will set out in 6 months. ((3 pages)). The Elders are discussing the landing point on a map, which is most voted to be Denmark or Sweden, but it is still unsure. Once a successful colony is claimed, a missive will be sent to the other Tribes of Iceland, asking for their allegiance to the Horned Men.

The Ethiopian Kingdom

Alarms, cheerings, yet fear filled the air when the scouts from the New Arab republic found Addis Abeba. Their colours & weapons were different, and their skin tone was lighter. New survivors, new hope! However, they could be a threat now that Ethiopia is weakened due the harsh winter they just had. Ethiopia prepares their items and Haile for potential trade & negotiations. The men are invited to visit the King.

The winter ended, and 4000 people lost their lives. However, the Ethiopian population only seems to grow by time. The farms are finished, and bring bountyful harvests for the Ethiopian people. The market is as busy as ever, and construction of the printing machine is finished. Several books are made for the teachers, but the eletricity for the windmill does not allow the Ethiopians to produce enough copies for the children.

Meanwhile, Haile wants to know exact numbers of his population and their status. With stamps he orders his whole 'office' to copy these simple formats. Each Ethiopian citizen must fill out this form, so that he or she is registered. They all will be assigned a number, starting from 1 to -. With this, safety and registration becomes easier.

63745222.png

It will take a while before all 135.000 citizens are registered. ((1 page))

Haile Selassie heard reports of an old but unstable iron mine up north. He orders his teams to make it stable once again. He has a plan in mind, but his ***** lips wouldn't speak any word about it. As 40 people bring lumber & hammers along, the unstable mine is being processed in its first tunnel ((4 pages)). However, reading the old reports on the mine. It seems that most Iron is far in the back, where three more tunnels spread. Haile will await wether to fully make the mine stable or not.

Meanwhile, some citizens have extreme talent in precise crafting. Seeing how the resources are avaidable, Haile orders his military to collect these people and put them in the old royal factory in the centre. There they shall carefully create these magical firing weapons they saw in the Nakhar tribe. Around the 50 people will make these devices with the wood and scrap metal, and with the Iron mine...

2042CountryFowlerMusket_PG.jpg

Meanwhile, Haile Selassie talked to the God Pok about the random winter they had experienced.

REINO DE NUEVA HABANA

Nueva Habana: The plague has been all but pushed from the island, but antibiotic supplies are low and el Rey desires to trade for more with the Australians. The fortress of La Cabana is also almost done being repaired, with the last of the cannons set to be finished in the next few months. ((1 page remaining))

San Fernando: Iron and coal were unfortunately not found in the San Fernando colony but, where there was lack of iron, there was an abundance of sulfur. It has been ordered that the mines be re-opened and production of gunpowder be started immediately, though it will take time to start. ((3 pages))

Secondly, with the food shortage of the last year, the new territory on the continent is to be extensively farmed, with corn to be the staple of the people's diet. ((2 pages))

Panama: With the makeshift fort being completed on the northern peninsula,  men are sent to find the legendary copper mines of Panama. What they will find yet, is unknown, but if copper is to be found, an electric grid might be reasonable in the future. ((2 pages))

                                                   The Scavengers Of New England

                                                   Red_corsairs_emblem_by_steel_serpent-d3a

The sun came up and soon the thriving tent city began to awaken...  The Building's candles and torches began to flicker on... and dust kicked up down the dirt road. The gate creaked open and a camoflouged pickup truck zoomed down the road, heading towards a lookout camp down the road. Life in The Scavenger outpost known as The Tip began to start up for another busy day.

Ebb got up and began to get his gear on. As usual he walked out the back door to The Building and made his way to an ATV. He began to make his loops around the city, checking on guards, and finally neared the planning tent. Looking at the map he nodded to his head scout, they'd begin the expedition today... the expedition to the Harbor to find some boats ((will take 4 pages to reach the Harbor)). The scouts began to load their truck and the leader picked up his sniper from the armory... their guns and ammo had been dwindling for months now, they'd ran out of spots to scavenge and needed to find a supply soon or they'd be defending themselves with sticks and stones.

BF4-Recon-Tips.png

The sprawling tent city eyed the scout team as it exited... knowing fully well what their mission meant... expansion was to be coming soon, more outposts would be added onto their three that spanned across New England.

-snip apparentally Pok gives me population and such-

Outposts:

Boston Outpost: A small base where 20k people in total dwell. They are self operating but radio in to the Tip every night. They keep an assortment of weapons for the only about one quarter people who are constantly scavenging for supplies. Any important items such as books on weapons, military tactics, engineering etc. and/or any military supplies, weapons, and vehicles are shipped to the Tip every 6 months.

The Remnants Of The Great Exploration Camp: Early on the Scavengers had sent a large force towards the other side of the coast in great numbers, in trucks and cars. Soon they had completely run out of supplies and still had communication with the Tip. Only 40k members remain but they act as traders and diplomats to the various groups across the Nation. A squad is nearing the Fort Of The Red Plains  after radioing in to home that they are trying to make contact. The inhabitants of the fort would see a black sedan heading towards them, kicking up dust.

OOC:

Please tell me if I am doing this wrong... I can completely revamp this post if needed (not sure if my weapons etc. is fine) please let me know.

The Eagle's Nest:

-

The used-to-be Midland, Texas: A small settlement which ranges to about 48,000-50,000 people. In the lush and green geography , farms dominate the landscape, with a little uranium as well. The people of the town of Eagle's Nest, still consider themselves part of the old American empire. Through saved books and news articles, stories are told of a great country that was wiped out during the 'Bad-Times.' American flags, salvaged from destroyed homes for hundreds of years, are hung outside homes, mostly because no one would want to waste their time making a flag for their miniature-sized country. Through the endless generations, the stories of mankind have differentiated. In public schools, English and Nest laws are taught. The people have an iron mine, which produces enough to get by, a coal mine, as coal is abundant in this area, and a water-mill. Electricity is unavailable, so to keep cool in the Texan heat, towns are built with Germanic influence, making it seem mid-western. Horses are also a big part of the land, and many wild horses still roam the prarie. Not a soul knows about the Texas Rangers, and life is peaceful. Guns are limited to revolvers, based on old designs, and the occasional shotgun. These people have no idea about the harsh and unforgiving world.

The Perruvians

With the recent finish of the farms, roads, and housing the tribes now have the ability to support a much larger level of expansion, and plan to do so. With the excitement of the citizens having never been higher than now, due in large to the leopards speech and plans for growth, the people are birthing more children than usual and are ready to expand and build. And to the applause of the citizens throughout the tribes, a runner has returned from the mountains, bearing news of what they had found. ((MOD REQUIRED))

The beginnings of teaching are underway, and the kids of the tribes are all very happy to begin, and they finally represent more than a mouth to feed. They are being taught in rudimentary schools, one room with a teacher using sticks and other various items to teach the children the basics of math, like adding and subtracting, to how the ecosystem works, and finally how to speak correctly. Sadly the small supply's of paper are used for government affairs and if something is to be written the children have to do it in tree bark, or carve it into something. This represents the biggest advancement in many years for these people, and it helps to raise moral among the people.

Having found another mine the men begin to setup shop around it, expected to finish around the same time as the first mine. The military of the Perruvians is at about 15,000 men, 1,000 more who act as the royal guard and are highly trained compared to the other soldiers. While the tribes are patrolled enough to stop animal attacks within the borders, expansion is hard and many die as they try to make new settlements. Noticing this issue, the leopard seeks to increase military power while growing the region. So, he makes a charter. He offers all willing to move to a new, fully sized city along the largest, main road created about 5 miles out from the capital. The offer being, for the first year of living there they will be feed by the government, with their now quiet large surplus of food. Along with the charter is an attached document which details a similar offer, to join the military. The new recruits would be fed and housed; it is expected around 5,000 will join for a total of 20,000 men. All of these new recruits would be used to aid the new city's development.

jungle-village-l-skylar-brown.jpg

As it is reported that no new citys or rivers were located from the scouts, the leopard orders them even farther out. Around 100 scouts will be sent in all directions besides the mountains, 20 miles out. They are ordered to find any citys or rivers at the highest importance. But above all, it is deemed necessary to find another living tribe. Wether it be for the means of war or trade, it does not matter. One must be found.

What is found ontop of the mountain?

What is found from exploring the surrounding areas, 20 miles in all directions other than the mountain?

Is it ok if I do a census, and choose my own amount of people? If no how many do I have?

Finally, when will the plague reach me/is it here now?

The Republic of Kuanesh

EX4ZFMx.jpg

The storm came with a fury, the rain pouring down in sheets across the republic as it approached. The waves grew large, and smashed over the harbor of Garuda, the trees of all of Indonesia bent over in the face of the winds. Those caught at sea struggled to make it to port. Across the country, citizens took shelter, many in Garuda even retreating to within the great vault.

Robert_Salmon_-_Ship_in_Storm.jpg

Actual damage is minimal thanks to extensive preparations, but communications are cut out across the republic for the duration of the storm. As it rages on the surface, the government retreats back underground, where they draw up plans to continue colonization when the clouds clear.

And clear they do. As the sun once again shines over Kuanesh, ships once more set out from the harbor, bearing further colonists. Some of these ships are militarized, as it is their job to set up military outposts on the frontier, to fully provide for the rule of law. All across the frontier, contacts are reported with the colonies of the Honshu Republic, but colonists have been warned to respect them, as they do not seem to be the barbarians seen elsewhere.

As coal begins to be shipped from the Australian colonies to the rest of the country, those without power in the capital are finally supplied with electricity, along with the larger population centers across the islands. Scouts press further south into Australia as more iron mines are uncovered, and construction of steel mills is underway.

Mod Actions

Highlands Tribe

The attempts to create a radiation-resistant fabric seem plausible, but the first few tries fail utterly. There is widespread doubt that it is even possible, and the leader of the project may elect to discontinue it as a waste of time.

However, the radio signal may have gone through: scouts from the coast report that they have sighted several grey-hulled ships, who landed several figures in yellow on the shore.

Sikh Confederacy

The forced occupation of New Delhi, along with the subjugation of all the tribes in the way, sends a ripple of dismay across India. The true intentions of the Sikh are revealed at last. Defense treaties are drawn up among the rest of independent India, and unrest begins to appear even within the Confederacy's borders.

Ethiopia

The survivors seem confused by the sudden appearance of the outsiders. They take them in, however, and feed them, questioning them about the outside world.

Neo-Sweden

Two of the closest city-states surrender reluctantly. However, the others simply strengthen their will. In a magnificent show of resistance, agents that have infiltrated Neo-Sweden simultaneously burn food stores across the country. Tons upon tons of supplies vanish into ash, nothing more than short blazes in a cold, cold winter.

The Brothers of Stalingrad

The concept for the power generators seems simple enough. However, to make more will require the correct materials, especially steel and copper wiring.

Horned Men of Iceland

Several ammunition caches are found, but the tribe has little use for them without weapons. It seems those have been long since removed, apart from a grand total of 68 AK-47s. Most of these are in good repair, but several are liable to malfunction if used too often.

Cuba

The copper mines are easily found, and it seems almost too easy to begin extraction.

On the northern shore of the Panama canal, smoke can be seen rising. Whatever it is, it isn't a small group of people

The Peruvians

The mountains and the area surrounding were mostly bare except for one thing. High, high towards the top is an old airfield, left by the Federation of Aztlan. Perhaps due to the altitude, not everything has rusted away. The scouts would find no less than three working helicopters, though they may not be able to recognize them, and they would consume fuel quite quickly. ((Try to get a hold of pok for population, otherwise you can set it yourself.))

The Texas Rangers

The riots are successfully put down, at the cost of the leadership's moral authority. Many throughout the faction feel as though they are being oppressed, and future problems may very well arise.

The Republic of Arminius

The train bearing the two artillery pieces seems to be destined to bring victory to its destination. However, as it passes over a canyon, the trestle explodes, sending everything falling to its demise at the icy bottom: crew, cargo, fuel and all. Agents of the Swiss resistance take credit.

The Red Plains

The negotiation party sent to the tribes does not return, and tensions rise as drums in the distance fill the air. For three days they thump, bonfires visible in the distance. The defenders of the camp watch as those sent to negotiate are roasted alive to the whoops of the natives. Sleep evades them, as the drums continue even at night. And on the third day, it begins.

Nine thousand warriors start the attack, quickly advancing across the plains. They take cover behind mantlets, many of them with metal on the front. As such, losses in the initial charge are minimal. Those defending the fort are forced to take cover as arrows and bullets shower down upon them. Soon the army is at the very gates. And still drums are heard in the distance, as more tribes flood into the area.

As the battering ram begins its work, fire breaks out within the encampment, and chaos reigns.

Kingdom of Neo Sweden

alt__swedish_flag_by_ay_deezy-d30dnus.pn

The angered High Queen Emilia, at the forefront of her armies, orders them to begin sieges of the other surrounding city states. The two  consolidated cities are checked and MP are stationed in them. The combined population of both states totals 10,000, and since no losses were taken there the population of Neo Sweden hovers around 220,000. The 40,000 strong raid army begins its invasion of most provinces connected to Neo Sweden, farms being sacked for food and towns being burned to the ground, all villagers either killed or taken as prisoner workers. The single Neo Swedish ship begins to bombard a coastal city, using half of its gas to get there. In one of the two cities, Vaxholm, an old library and ironworks are found, and the library begins to be looted while the ironworks begins to be scavenged for parts. ((6 pages)). Scouts are sent out in fishing boats across the Baltic Sea, hoping to find life in the area that was once Germany. The clothing factory continues to churn out winter clothes, and the iron refinery begins making bullets, but the gunpowder stores are about halfway used in attacking the other states.

The Ethiopian Kingdom

The kingdom was quiet. As harvests continued, the iron mine was slowly build. The first Iron ores could be mined, but the first tunnel is far from stable. As the Ethiopian population slowly returns its balance, the registering makes progress. The traders from the New Arab Republic are expected an answer on wether they want to visit Haile Selassie or not.

Meanwhile, the scouts on Bahrain are being interrogated about the outside world. They talk about the magnificent Ethiopian empire, and how they could help Bahrain to live a better life, and to be as magnificent like Ethiopia. The amazed survivors accept, and gladly join this kingdom. With repairs being made, the leader of the Bahrainian survivors went on the boat to Ethiopia to discuss terms, finally some civilization. Selassie thought big however, from Bahrain he could paint other nations green. Selassie made preperations to ship more wood & sand for the dug out canal in the centre to use it for his new colony. Bahrain, or what is left of it.. Will be the Ethiopian epic centre.

Meanwhile, Haile receives word that the southern caravan reached the Zulu.

The Texas Rangers

With the a year passing, the troops are ready for the siege. With the riots quelled a majority of the troops are moved ready to siege. The remaining Humvees are hooked up with the M60s found previously in the siege of Witcha Falls. As the men approach the city, the Humvees split off from the group with a group of 1,000 men as they surround the city, the unleash into the buildings with suspect troops, for a good 5 minutes. The main force of 10,000 troops advanced on the city the front line Swordmen, the second musketeers and the rest are veteran troops armed with M4s.

4 teams of 2 snipers occupy nearby hills and abandoned highways that give them better view of the city, providing sniper cover and conducting counter sniper operations. Jacob hopes this battle ends quickly and with very little deaths, but only time will tell.
