Edgar looks over to Konrad,

"We're doin' fine as we can 'ere. Ain't no point in fightin' the government 'ere. I know mah' sword to the defense o' Malinor, few of us'll stand by me, but we ain't gonna rebel 'ere. We gotta bad enough reputation fer' bein' unruly rebellious savages."

Konrad shrugs to Edgar

"I feel it's wise to hear both sides before i decide my friend"

A hooded figure steps forward from the crowd, his facial features hidden, but his tall and straight stature affirming him as Elven kin. He speaks with a sharp, inquisitorial tone; an inquery shot toward the so-called 'Justicar'--

"Why, pray-tell, do you continuously deem the High-Prince as 'High-King'? There has been no 'High-King' since the days of Malin, and there will be no 'High-King' until he returns. Word of any 'High-King' declaration have not fallen upon my ears, which do well at hearing many things.

Are you a fool who bears a habit of plastering propaganda everywhere alongside your non-Mali comrades, or do you actually bear proof of Eleron's kingship?"

*Airwalk ,a human, is walking past the spectacle and asks out* "What will your 'new' government be like? How is it structured?"

Zogrocka looks at Airwalk, chuckling "Id am da albai wi flatted!" He shouts, a group of Orcs behind him pointing their fat fingers and laughing.

A small dark elven woman speaks up.

"Will Darkhaven be affected by this?"

"No, Darkhaven will follow suit of Lenniel. I seek not to harm the Mali I wish to protect."

The hooded individual clears his throat, obviously expectant of an answer to his question.

Kalameet turns to the figure, his eyes scanning him carefully.

"Because High Prince Eleron deems himself worthy to ignore regulations, and protocal. Ignoring legalities to do as he pleases are signs of himself seeking a dictatorship, and thus seeking such a title. Not to mention the 'High King' and Prince Ebs had discussed treaties with the Scourge, and the Dwarves; whilst breaking the treaty with Oren.

The Council know they're at fault! They're trying to cover it up, Titania stepped down, Darius was suspended. Eleron is going for a power-grab so he and Ebs can control the votes unopposed!"

Kalameets face contorts.

"Liars and cheats; all of them disgrace Malins name. They /will/ be brought to justice."

Beneath his dark hood, the figure's features twist into an expression of disgust; having been both unsatisfied by the response and offended by it's sheer inanity.

"Nay. His rule has been adequate; there had been no oppression upon the people, and the council had been working with him, not for him. Where, exactly, is your proof of his ignorance of these 'regulations and protocols'? Where is evidence of the crimes he had committed that caused Malinor's populace to disperse from the capital in droves to your own city? You declare a war without reason - bearing only one goal behind it. You seek power, I see this well.

I remember you quite clearly, 'Justicar'. I remember when you were cast out of the city for your several crimes within Malinor - murder and destruction of the Mages' Guild property. You are a violent creature and when you were allowed back into the capital for the sake of service, I caught the scent of betrayal miles away in the forests, and months before it transpired.

Malin's children do not abandon eachother in such a manner, and then stomp on the weakest link once it had been left behind for flawed goals."

The hooded figure spits at Kalameet in a show of spite, muttering bitterly and shaking his head in disapproval.

The clandestine figure listens ever so carefully to the conversations surrounding him, his ears twitching as a new voice directs it's attention to the gathered Mali. Bearing no caution, he lifts his hood up and over his head to allow his silver hair to descend to his shoulders, releasing a sigh most sour. The stygian prince remains away from the crowd, continuing to watch. To listen. To study.

Over the course of time that the elves had been gathered, a lone elf sat somewhat aside from the group, arranging flowers beneath a tree. He'd been there prior to the impromptu gathering, and there he had remained. However, after the most recent statements, he decided it was time for him to speak. Thus, Feanor rose from his seat, opting to allow his voice be heard.

"To those of you who do not know me, I am Feanor Aldaren. It is likely that most do not know me well, for it is only in the past three elven years which I have returned to Malinor from a near century of travels. With several other members of my family and other individuals, we sailed to exotic lands dissimilar to the likes of Aegis, Asulon and Anthos. While I formed many friendships over my travels, and experienced many amazing events over such a short time away from the realm of my kin, I frequently yearned for the Malinor I had left behind. For this reason, I returned to the Princedom without my family, seeking to return to the nation of peace, wisdom and reverence which I had left, led by a Council of servants to the people. I returned to no such place.

Elves of Malinor, Lenniel, Darkhaven, the Conclave... all of Malin's kin, I must tell you that Malinor has withered so greatly over a mere century, it is nearly indescribable. Once a state of peace within our walls, we are now a realm riddled with the users of dark magic, no longer vilified by many an elf. Once a state which was largely unimpeded by the other races, we are now thought inferior by all races, and largely disrespected. Once a state focused upon promoting our own longevity, we now do little to promote it. All elves branch from the tree that is Malinor, yet we are leaves hanging off of a tree which has withered. It has changed, and with the absence of our great ancestor Malin, the only others to blame are the High Council.

I will not list the claims of Eleron's corruption myself. While I have heard countless claims of corruption and undue violence from countless reliable sources - many of whom are not members of the Conclave - I have not seen such action directly. As such, I will not press the claims when more reliable witnesses can more accurately do so.

However, Eleron has proved very rapidly that he is not a suitable candidate for leadership of the descendants of Malin. He does not think of government positions as a service to one's nation, but rather as a position of power. When I expressed interest in increasing my role within the government of Malinor and informed him I would be willing to serve as a Prince of Malinor in the future if I was found to be adequate, I was met with a look of disdain and disappointment.

For this, I was baffled. I questioned why one, the High Prince no less, would be disappointed by one wishing to serve Malinor? I was then informed that one does not request a position upon the Council; instead, one proves themselves worthy and is appointed. Not only does our High Prince discourage interest in the responsibilities that come with government positions, ones which have traditionally been considered selfless acts of devotion to one's race. Our High Prince further implied that each member of the High Council consistently proves themselves suitable to sit upon the Council. If this is the case, then I must ask why the likes of Kaun, Ebs and Urasept are seldom if ever seen upon the streets of New Malinor? They are unaccounted for, and provide no visible assistance to our nation. Either they yield no work, and merely retain their positions due to friendship among the other members of the Council, or the High Council lacks the transparency which ought to be inherent. Regardless, it highlights flaws within our government which Eleron has made no effort to solve.

During this conversation, I was also informed that I was an unsuitable candidate because I was... unaligned. Or rather, I did not fall under the bloodlines of the wood elves, high elves or dark elves. I was informed that despite my service, the color of my skin, hair and eyes made me an unlikely candidate for the position. I understand the importance of holding each major group of elves represented within the government of Malinor in some fashion, yet the fact that this necessity wholly overwhelms the importance of merit when considering candidates for government is terrifying. A balance must be met, and it has not.

With these facts being said, I am certain some of you will see me as an elf merely disgruntled or perhaps enraged by the fact that I was not selected for a High Council position, and therefore fighting out of anger. However, this is not true. The proper descriptor of my attitude to what happened was not rage; I have spent the greater part of a millennium separate from government. If unsuitable for government, I will not insist on serving. It was the reasoning the High Prince himself provided, not the fact that I was essentially rejected that made myself so worried by our current High Prince.

Nay, I could elaborate upon many other issues with the High Prince; his failure to conform to the Mali'lumi Ethic, his inability to lead the elves in battle against the dwarves and their Harbinger allies, his open disdain for some of the most productive public servants such as Kalameet and Prince Darius well before any signs of disloyalty from Kalameet, the delegation of work he is responsible for to others below him who hold no such responsibility, his general absence from the streets of Malinor, and various other inadequacies.

Were these all of Eleron's faults, and Kalameet called for the violence he calls for, I would not ever agree to such a call. However, upon hearing of the Conclave's formation in a peaceful manner upon land which Malinor held no claim to, the High Council responded with threats of violence. Whether this was Eleron's intent or not, it matters not; he heads the Council, and therefore must take responsibility for its members. The threats made by the High Council are inexcusable. Threatening other elves for a peaceful attempt at forming an alternative nation to Malinor is an unforgivable act which neglects our longevity as a race absolutely.

It is for this reason that the current High Council must be deposed, even if it must occur through violent means, for it is apparent that violent means would have happened either way. It is my hope that the war shall be brief, and most elves of Malinor will remain unharmed, although it cannot be certain what the High Council shall attempt. However, I can promise to each of you one thing. Malinor's tree has withered over the past century, such that the flourishing state under the likes of Native is to many a distant memory. Yet the Conclave sees this, and the Concalve seeks to fix this. It shall pluck the leaves which have withered from the tree and nurture it once more, allowing it to grow and heal until it resembles the great tree which it once was. This is the promise of myself, Feanor, and the promise of the Conclave."

With his conclusion, a look of mild surprise appears upon his face. He had not set out to speak for so long, and yet he had. The expression disappears after another moment, and Feanor smiles, notably walking not back to where he had sat before, but instead to a place beside the retinue of the Conclave. He waited to see if any others would speak.

((Also, imagine I posted this before Art told everyone to stop bickering :P))
