The Fight For Ambriel

*Pamphlets and notices are sent to various Orenian outposts and settlements. Some make their way to foreign nations by chance.*

As the dust settles with our past conflict with the dwarves, some may ask why we have sent military troops to annex the town of Ambriel. In fact, to the unsuspecting eye it seems to be a harmless settlement on the frontier of the Cloudlands. It poses little to no military threat to the livelihood of Oren. So why have I decreed for our armies to march forth on its soil and blockade it from foreign intervention?

I do this in the name of Ostromir II Carrion, who was kidnapped and sentenced to death by the founders of this settlement. I do this in the name of Jack Fletcher, brutally murdered in a Silverblade uprising along with countless other Abresi Guards at the hands of Verus and Silverblade supporters. I do this in the name of every soul sent to the Seven Skies fighting for his kingdom against half-elven sedition in the Battle of Schattenburg. As a King, I cannot sit idle as seditious murderers and thieves run amuck in the hinterland of Anthos. I am not mobilizing to annex the land; it is Cloudlands which anyone can settle upon and thus is not well-suited for annexation. Rather, I seek to invade to apprehend all those associated with the Tarus and Silverblade rebellions, to put them on trial and punish them for crimes they think they can escape.

I have received letters from Huron Silverblade, leader of the Ambrielian Conclave, claiming that the town is clean from those associated with the rebellion. But it is well-known throughout the realm that Huron was a culprit in the offenses against Oren, and there is further documented proof garnered by Decterum patrols in the Cloud Temple as follows that rebel activity still exists.

While we cannot gather that Ambriel hosts these rebels, we have probable reason to believe that the fact that these notices were placed in the Cloudlands and Ambriel’s location act both in conjecture to prove that there is some seditious activity in the realm. of convicted rebels. Even if they choose not to rebel against Oren any further, they must pay for the loss of life and property damage committed against humanity. Furthermore, Huron Silverblade fails to turn himself in for his crimes against humanity and uses Ambriel as a hiding spot. Until Huron Silverblade and all other rebels associated with Oren are turned in to be trial for their crimes, I cannot lift my banishment on House Silverblade nor can I withhold the march of my armies. It would be permitting a grave injustice in my reign and denying Orenian law to my peoples.

As I publish this wartime notice, I heard rumors that Ambriel and the Dwarves may have signed a treaty which involves Ambriel seceding under the Dwarven crown. This would violate the following term of our treaty.

War may not be declared between The Holy Kingdom of Oren and The Grand Kingdom of Urguan for three elven months.

The Dwarves would have chosen to intervene in our war with a separate entity. Considering we have declared war on Ambriel, and in this time while war was declared they have diplomatically annexed Ambriel, this means they have joined Ambriel in its war, and have declared war on Oren. I am flabbergasted at the audacity to not only stand in the way of delivering justice on those who have committed crimes against Oren, but to nullify in an elven week the treaty that was so well-sought by their lords and crown; if these rumors are true.

Whatever the case may be, we will continue to march unless Huron Silverblade and all other residents of Ambriel whom are associated with the Tarus-Silverblade rebellion surrender themselves to an Oren Court of Law, and are willing to stand trial for any and all crimes they have committed in their rebellions against the Holy Kingdom of Oren. I am sure copies of this mass-printed notice shall come in the hands of both the Ambriel denizens and the dwarves; if so, I urge you to plead to your countrymen to contact me and think twice about erupting a second Great War, as justice will find its way, one way or another.

Jest Weilk!

King Heinrik the First of Name

*Dizzy hears word of one of these notices and chuckles, considering the fact that the vassalization matter has not even cleared the lords council yet*

Farren wanders how the King of Oren, knows all of this. Considering the Dwarves are holding a meeting to discuss this possibility at this very moment...

((This is completely meta. We haven't even decided to vassalize them, and currently holding a meeting about it. ))

((These are RP rumors, in nowhere in my post do I say that the dwarves have done so. It is not out of the question for the king to assume that Ambriel, a place which has many members who fought with the dwarves in the past, would hide under the dwarves and he would want to clear up the possibility of what happens if it did happen.))

Sighs

"The only rebel at the town is my self, the people of the town have nothing to do with it."

*shakes his head sadly as he walks down the road observing the fields of golden wheat slowly moving in the evening wind. He walks to the homes of his friends and knocks, telling each the same*

"Prepare for war."

A Decterum Knights speaks aloud within the streets of Abresi to those who are on patrol with him.

"This is a clear Dwarven Breach of the treaty if these rumors are indeed true. The only response is war, and if it comes to that I do not believe Oren will ever accept anything less then the complete and utter surrender of the dorf-traitors. If the rumors are true, of course."

Would stand in the middle of Abresi square,

"Here me out, King Henrik Carrion the First. I will turn me self in, I would like to cleanse me families name. My Family has done horrible things in the past, but I had to part in that.

I have I helped a rebellion against Oren. But I quickly learned what I have done, I regret I must admit. I wish for ye' to not attack the town of Ambriel, as they had nothing to do with the rebellion, it is me ye' want. The previous House leader of Silverblade has turned our name into shame, and I wish to fix this by turning me self in. I am not of one to take down Oren, as the previous House leader.

So here I am, I will step up to what my family has done."

Stands sighing, putting his hands into the air.
