4.0 Update #2

I like the idea of having to maintain an active playerbase in certain locations to keep them protected. Conditional regioning! Woo! Why didn't anyone think of this sooner? (or maybe they did? I dunno!) :D

I personally think its a great idea. Those bases that stay active will be protected from random thefts and greifing when there isn't enough players online to defend it actively, and those that fall abandoned and forgotten into the mysts of time may be destroyed by people who wish to instead claim that land if need be.

A couple of issues may arise I think.

  • People going on holidays and come back to find that because they were a couple people under their place has been taken over by another faction and they weren't there to prevent it.
  • People complaining that certain areas require too many people and their smaller faction/group wishes to protect it but find that they cannot (fixed through communication with GMs or Admins I would assume would make it pretty easy as long as the region-member-requirement areas are easy to modify without having to restart server or something)
  • Buildings being partially greifed and looking weird once abandoned

Probably some more issues which I am unable to think of, (people are notoriously good at finding issues ya' see!) but these are the main things. To be fair though, I think these issues are pretty minor. Aside from the complaining of region-member-requirements being too damn high which could be negotiable or explainable by the staff as to why the requirement is so high the other two may be solved through either GM negotiation or mod-reqs.

So a pretty solid system all round is my vote! :D

1 Thing: Don't make ores TOO abundant. Please, make a stable economy by fixing mining before the map release.

I've never liked the Mesa biome thingie up north, it simply looks out of place. I'd much rather have a grassy area, for a smooth transition between the wilds and main land..

Sandy island - Next antag base.

4.0 antag should be a giant pirate crew.

I like but I think the southern part should be blocked off and expanded later with an event or something. Just so it isn't so big at start since we would have the top part.

By the way, will there be a transitional island along the way to 4.0?

So this means that it won't take like, 2 minutes to walk from Uruk to Dwarven turf right?

Doesn't seem like an exciting quest if it takes the time of a brisk stroll, tbh

Also, can a brother get more caves? Caves are rad. Everything that is currently rad, could be made radder if it where in a cave.

E.g, spiders, floods, churches, mushrooms, bonfires, campsites, marshmallows, etc

Well, simply the nations are too crowded and makes no sense to have a 1 min jump-sprit to get to the next culture. Much dislike. Nations apart, more event areas in between, an ogre cave, an underwater treasure, whatever just..there needs to be more "random" areas to explore. This combines with perhaps a random loot chest plugin and etc 4.0 will be the best map ever. #Endrant

Terrible idea. Nations need to be relatively close together with more explorable areas in between and beyond the nations, or new players struggle to find RP at all. And too much RP is better than too little. Asulon and Anthos were split apart and they relatively sucked.

Seyz you.

However, a point /does/ stand. Travel was impossible in the HOE in Asulon without fast travel carts, there were no roads, raging mobs, Vaq's plugin, and little food.

How about Aliens that pop up from the void?
