Glad this finally happened, sent a long message to Shiftnative a month ago about a lot of these things and nothing has been done since now so I guess..... woot, woot.

To be fair I haven't played in 3.0 hardly at all, I would be ill-equipped in writing and consolidating these rules - They've been talking about updated rules in the GM skype for quite awhile and I'm glad to see it's been made.. and well too!

Sorry I hadn't returned a message to you, I'll PM you why I hadn't.

I would suggest putting in an OOC declaration of being a combatant, in PvP circumstances. It is a tad frustrating whenever other players decide to jump in, without your apparent knowledge.

If a player has not participated in the RP and jumps in when it turns into PVP that constitutes a no-rp kill, does it not?

Can't hurt to make that more apparent in the rules.

It's clear as day that not rping before killing someone is killing someone without RP.

So swimming up wayerfalls or swimming in full iron armor is allowed even if it's not realistically possible?

It was never against the rules technically, although if you did it in RP it'd be powergaming. However you can't really remove vanilla mc mechanics so that takes precedent over RP sense.

Back when Vaq was around, the server had a plugin where armor would weigh you down when trying to swim. Perhaps adding another mechanic (plugin) like that would fix that :)

Oh, and just so everyone is clear (I had to read it a couple times myself) Anything that you cannot do in regular MC, you can't do in RP I think. So if you can't climb the wall with MC mechanics, then no RPing climbing a rope up that wall. Am I right with this?

One thing to add though. "If you start an RP fight, it should stay RP" or something like that... *pouts*

Should be: Proper rolep-play is needed before the type of combat is chosen ((If the RP goes to combat)) IE. The villainous monologue before Kronk pulls the lever. After an appropriate amount of roleplay has been completed the form of combat may be chosen if a consensus can not be found PVP will be the form taken. "Mina's or die" is not an appropriate amount of roleplay. One liners may result in a disciplinary action from a GM or Admin

To clearify *Readys weapon* ((PVP or RP?)) RP! alright lets RP - After a decision has been made on which form of combat you use It must remain that form. NOT change to PVP after you have agreed.

Can there be a rule for people who get PvP defaulted to walk away if the RP beforehand is considered bad?

I.E:

Jerry: Halt!

Berry: Eh?

Jerry: Gimme all your items and minas!

Berry: Erm... No...

Jerry: Fine! *takes out sword* ((PvP default, count down))

I feel there should be some rule against crap like this, as I have noticed this kind of bandit RP on the rise lately, and it peeves me off :| I feel it would be fair if the bandit does what Jerry does, that being providing minimul, **** RP, then the person being PvP defaulted should be allowed to say OOC "No, either provide better RP before hand or void that this happened"

If said bandit refuses to provide sufficient RP or refuses to void the horrid RP, logs should be taken, and a GM should be brought in to deem whether RP beforehand was sufficient RP to start PvP or not.

Good RP example:

Jerry: *walks out of the bushes, wearing leather armor and an iron dagger in hand. He looks at Berry with an evil grin. "Hold it right there laddy!"

Berry: "What?"

Jerry: "You seem to have an excess ammount of goods on you... Allow me to be kind and... Relieve you of them. All of them, in fact."

Berry: *looks at the bandit warrily*

Jerry: "Hand them over, boyo. I want your minas, not your life."

I realize this is a bit of a hassle, but for those of us who actually want to RP default, or who want actual RP before PvP default, it would be nice to have a fallback if someone runs out and screams "MINAS OR DIE", and not be screwed over because PvP is default.

Side note: It'd also be nice if people who want to PvP default would be kind about asking to PvP default, rather than saying "You want to RP fight? Tough ****, PvP default get over it", or be willing to say "Well, I would rather PvP, but we can RP if you want" Not a rule, it'd just be nice to treat those who don't want to do PvP default with kindness rather than "Tough ****, scrub"

Bad RP is very subjective. Your example is definitely bad, but it's never as black and white as that. If they added a rule like that, people could just go, "lol rp wasnt good enuf m8" and walk off so they could keep their items, even if the RP was good.
