A madman’s venture, a gamble of science and magic conjoined in an effort of curiosity and desperation. This was an unnatural act that group had gathered to commit in the caverns this night. The sleek icy walls of the vast cave reflected small lines of dim light. In attendance were those necessary for the creation of this beast of grandeur: the alchemists whose notes conceived the idea for the beast: Kardel and Malineer: and the two mages who would assist in this venture, Adorellan and Vinzakara. The group gathered around the large vat that held Kardel’s mixture, a mix of alchemical symbols and aqua vitae that would breathe life into the beast when given enough energy. Malineer looked across to his colleagues and began to speak.

“Right then, we’ve very little time once we begin to get this in order, so Adorellan I need you at the top of the tank readying lightning to shock the waters and spark the reaction.” The necromancer mumbled "Very well.." in response to Malineer and sluggishly made his way over toward the tank whilst giving a light tip of his head to Vinzakara in passing.

Malineer continued his explanation with Vinzakara, turning his attention to him. “Now, Vinzakara. This is pretty much self explanatory. You need to piece it together as fast as possible, under four minutes if you can manage. I’m sure you’re more than capable.  Vinzakara gave no response and instead raised it’s gauntlets and began to prepare a thick black mist in preparation for it’s task. With everyone in place Malineer nodded to Kardel, and headed over to the side of the crane nearby to operate it. It was with Malineer’s word that each began their tasks. Kardel first released the lever, sending the guillotine down upon the creature’s head, severing it instantly as Malineer cranked the crane’s lever back, lifting the detached head toward the body of the large abomination nearby that was prepared for the task. As the head was aligned with the headless body the Gravelord released a billowing wave of the dark mist toward the creature, the unnatural substance creeping across the ground in a short wave and climbing across the severed head, sinew and bone twisting, sickly popping and squelching heard as the fleshed fused together. During this Malineer would be seen sprinting across the towards the larger crane on the opposite side of the cavern a Adorellan stands upon the scaffolding near the tank, lightning arcing between his fingers as he stared intently to the tank, awaiting his cue. The mist would dissipate as Vinzakara completes it’s task and nods its head simply, Malineer taking the cue to operate the crane, lifting the massive body of the beast upwards and to the tank, letting it slip into the waters with a hefty splash and screaming to Adorellan. “Now!”

Adorellan followed the command without hesitation, a bolt of energy momentarily illuminating the caverns in a bright blue glow as he struck the water. It was as if nature itself was angered by the unspeakable act that had just taken place, the red tinted mixture within the vat emitted a bright glow as it was struck with the lightning, an abominable roar sounding from the tank following the blinding light. The abomination within seemed to change. It’s skin softened and tinted pink, veins visibly pumped with blood under it’s fetal skin. The odd creature’s chest seemed to rise and fall in breath, the gills upon the Kraken’s head flexing in unison with the movements. In the stunned silence of the group it was heard, the final sign they needed, a rhythmic thumping that resembled a heartbeat emanating from the tank, their creation was alive. It was breathing, it’s heart was pumping. Kardel and Malineer started with stunned expression, each of them mouthing something akin to: “It worked”
before descending from their positions in a frantic run to the tank to view the creation within, victorious grins spreading across their lips, almost in unison. The reason why this had worked was unknown to Malineer, his previous creature shared none of it’s predecessor’s failures. This was however due to the fact Kardel has slipped an extra ingredient into the vat, an endangered and due to this experiment; now extinct herb known as “Iblees heart” that triggered the reaction upon being met with the excess aura of the lightning. But it didn’t matter to either whether or not the experiment could be repeated again, their task was done. The chimera was alive.

Many moons passed since that night, it was the day of the dwarven feast and Malineer had just ushered off the guests he invited to view the beast’s progress, and was at a desk in the house upstairs taking down notes on the chimera’s development, the growth of skin, the regression of it’s gills, and the considerable size that the creature had grown too, it was just when he dipped his quill into the ink that the house began to rumble, an ear piercing roar and a crash echoed from the caverns. Malineer quickly tossed himself from the chair to delve into the caverns to check the beast’s progress, however this was quickly interrupted by a scaly green fist slamming upwards through the floor and knocking Malineer through one of the windows. As he laid stunned in the snow all that could be heard from the house was a great crash, a being fifty feet (15.5m) in height bursted forth from the side of the house, shaking the ground around it with its footsteps as it emerged. It scanned its snow-coated surroundings intently before setting it’s gaze upon Malineer and hunc
hing over to better view him.

Stunned was the alchemist, the creature looked over him in intrigue, an almost fond look in it’s eyes as it pulled the rest of it’s form from the shattered ruins of Kardel’s home, looking down upon the platinum haired elf below with a patient stance. It took Malineer some time to compose himself and calm down, and even longer to draw the courage to sit up before the beast and speak.

“...This...This went better than expected..” he murmured lightly, as Malineer sat up the beast mimicked him, setting itself upon the snowy plain behind it in wait. “...No, no..Up up..” he pointed upwards toward the sky, the creature briefly flicking it’s gaze in that direction before it planted it’s hands into the snow and used them for support to stand again, straightening it’s back to full height.

A grin akin to that of a maddened jester worked it’s way across Malineer’s lips and he moved to stand, ushering the beast downward with it’s palm. “Set your hand down here.” he commanded to test the creatures intelligence, and sure enough it followed the command almost immediately, upturning it’s palm and lowering it in front of Malineer. Malineer stepped upon it and pointed upwards again. “Carry me.” He barely had enough time to make the command before tripping back into the malformed chimera’s palm as it lifted him into the air. Rolling over to his stomach, Malineer pointed off into the distance toward Uraguan. “That way.” following its creator’s order, the beast set off in the direction of the dwarven capital....

Lisbeth sits upon a chair within the home, eyes flitting across the pages of her book. A loud rumbling is heard as she turns the page, moments later the house itself seems to erupt in an explosion of wood, stone, and various household objects. She glances upwards as Shubmosha crawls forth from the earth, the ground shaking with every movement. "Oh." she states simply, lowering her gaze back towards the book and continuing with her studies.

((I thought you guys were just trolling in skype...))

Dread Knight Vuln suddenly stops as the ground around him begins to vibrate. The motions increase in power until it feels as if the land itself is being torn asunder. The crimson warrior's large metallic helmet grinds skyward as he stares helplessly at Shubmosha. His deep and raspy voice drifts slowly from his helm, "That is most... unacceptable." Vuln flexes his over-sized gauntlets as he wars with himself. Blind rage begins to build in his body as he attempts to withstand the urge to attack the abomination. As he fights the dark crusade in his mind the beast passes him by without even glancing towards the usually monstrous Dread Knight.
