Patch 3.9: Character Cards And Vip Perks

 Share

Some of these changes sound alright at best. I don't like anything to do with the Global Moderator requirements, though. Think about how inefficient that is! I mean it this way; when you're sitting there, as a moderator, do you want to be spending hours on end changing people's races, names, and so on? Or would you rather be changing things such as player discrepancies, two people arguing, or something productive? I'm not trying to say that the moderators aren't productive enough, I just feel as if the whole thing on changing names is a bad, and I mean bad idea.

Some of the ideas here are fairly good, it's just that you guys did not refine them to be a little closer to perfect. That's why the public is upset. I understand that this is the final product, and what really got me upset was the fact that a lot of us had very, very little to no warning at all when this happened. I don't want to have to call a moderator every time I want to change characters. That's inefficient, and boring.

What you guys need to do is remake this little system. I like the idea of donators being able to rename items. That's a sweet idea. I like the concept of donators having perks, but not in order to create new character cards, and get other things that are generally useless in roleplay. I also don't like having to call a global moderator in order to switch characters (correct me if I am wrong), because that's just boring, and maybe I like to roleplay with different characters.

This anti-aging thing that I've seen has made it so that I cannot go from my 432 year old dark elf down to my 23 year old Kha', and that's quite upsetting for me, due to the fact that it's horribly inefficient. I recommend removing that plugin, but making it so that the players cannot set their ages below... 5 at least. You guys just somewhat threw this on us without any warning.

I understand that this is not at all a finished product, but I highly recommend removing the character card requirements, and just letting players have that area to themselves, though not with age. The soulstone requirements and wipes are also getting at me, because that also highly restricts players.

A lot of your actions have taken their toll in a short amount of time, on a large amount of players. There's work to be done here, and I hope that you guys take everyones' words (including mine) into consideration, otherwise you're going to have a lot of people upset.

Pardon me, If I sound rude, but I highly disapprove of this new system. I liked when people could write long winded descriptions without shoving them into Tinyurl links, and I liked when characters could be 5 years old. Plus, with the new plugin, I cant switch back and forth between my 16 year old character and my 24 year old one because of the anti-backwards aging plugin. The fact that we have to pay for all of this is turning the server into an mmorpg!

All I want to know if this is just a test to see how it works and if they're going to change it back. If this is just a prototype or something and they're testing it, it seems reasonable and I respect that you guys are simply expirementing with plugins. However, I didn't join this server for a Minecraft mmorpg and I don't have the money to donate every time I find out I need something reserved for higher donors as perks.

But since I'm not an a-hole or a buttface I'm good for now with simply playing as my five-year old with her age listed in my description, and a Link to my archive of character links. I can just list my character's ages in the description and (at most times) I can wait a few days to change from Fae to Vriska to Dominica. I do hope for a few changes in the final product, however.

Thanks for hearing my complaint ^u^

Alright I'm sorry but this is single  worst thing to ever come to my roleplay experience. /Card was so simple, fluent and effective, so you would just toss it out the window for something choppy and frankly gross? Thanks but no thanks.

I agree with Ahri. More character card restrictions are not needed. The VIP restrictions are bad, too.

All I see is this server becoming some average MMORPG hybrid failure like Elder Scrolls Online mid-Beta.

As TapeSauce said: This is the single worst thing to ever come to my role-play experience. Not good, not rewarding; not comfortable about it.

Not only is the community unstable as it is because of the recent changes to the game's mechanics, but it really does not need these changes. People are yelling at each other over PvP, something that did not happen at all often back in Aegis, nor Asulon. What the nether is going on? Why is it so hard to figure out what's good for the server and community and what's not?

Okay. I think some of what this does is good, and some of it is bad. Fortunately, the bad can be fixed. This has a potential to be a good system, but some of the restrictions thrown on are baffling.

No characters under 10

Uh, why? This is not a written rule now, nor has it ever been as long as I have been on the server. It has never been enforced. The closest you come is that at least at one point (I'm not sure if this is still true) you couldn't make a character on your whitelist application younger than a certain age, but you were allowed to make a younger character once accepted to the server.

A rule that is unwritten and not enforced is simply not a rule. This new restriction essentially destroys child RP. 5 being the minimum age would be much more reasonable.

No Characters over 1000

This is more understandable, as a character that old starts getting questionable. However, I think the lore says that elves top out at 1200, not 1000. I suppose this is a bit of a nitpick.

Reduction in player cards

Why? There is no reason to do this. Was 2 cards for a normal user really that bad? Was 3 for a Gold VIP just something that needed to be reduced? I don't even use all of them, but having one taken away, is questionable.

It's currently possible to nest persona creation dialogs

Yes. This can happen. Which means once you create a valid persona, you're still stuck in yet another  and another until you've gotten out of all of them. You can back out of them by typing "cancel" but there is nothing said anywhere that says this is a valid option. Still, the nesting registration conversations shouldn't be a thing in the first place.

Prefix has [] around it

Make this a toggleable thing. Why? Because if the prefix holds someone's title, I find the brackets to be a bit weird. Let me use my character as an example. Which looks better?
Apple Druid Leyun Kameki

[Apple Druid] Leyun Kameki

Yeah... give us the option to toggle those brackets.

Renaming items for Bedrock

Really? $200 for the VIP rank to get that perk? I'd suggest dropping it to diamond. On that topic, do allow lore to be added, unless you're going to let GMs add that (which partially negates why this perk was made). You should be able to give a short description of an item. Let me use an example. Let's say you take a diamond and give it a custom name. "Engagement Ring" Okay, easy enough. In the description, you could go and add a short description of what the band is made of or whatnot. Key word being short.

Start playing one main character, unless they change it so normal players can have 2 and VIP 3 or more. :/

I must say I agree with what Katherine1 just said. However, I dislike (as in ungodly burningly hate) the age limitation for children. It's just stupid, pardon the word. And the card number limit? Hell, I have TWO main characters. I need both, and people need both. Why can't we have more cards? What's wrong with it? If you explained the reasons behind those changes, other than the apparently effortless "to clean things up" deal, I would find it less frustrating.

As an Iron VIP, I had three character cards before and am now reduced to one. Also, not being able to freely change my name hinders one of my characters quite a bit (she frequently alters her appearance and persona, including race, age, and name. #FrostWitch), and the description limit is a bit short. All in all it seems needlessly restricting, and because of that I don't think many people are  focusing on the actual plugin itself. Give us the same freedom we had before (people will just find ways to work around it if you don't) and return the previous limit to character cards (2 for default, 3 for Iron VIP, etc) and then I can try out the actual new tech.

Oh, and yay for knockout...

Finally people will be forced to settle down and play a character in one place instead of so many!

good changes :)

1. no more players with like 5 active characters + encourages player development

2. no more useless baby characters

3. people will actually have to work for skills instead of just writing in your backstory

1.- I have had up to 3 active characters, and been congratulated for all of them are like real people, fully fledged and well developed. This is not an excuse.

2.- My character and his wife have had adopted children. Baby characters aren't useless, they're nice, cute and provide a break from the day to day bs. We're supposed to be allowed to explore, be creative. We are being punished without any good reason.

3.- What about those who have been around since long ago? My original character has a lot of experience, skills, and wisdom he has acquired throughout his life, but without any skill system. What the hell am I supposed to do about it?

Seems kinda ridiculous with the character card restrictions... its like the annoyance with all of the restrictions and protections in Anthos this. Like the Mypet though for this addition though!
