Why Can't You Play As A Child Anymore?

Title explains it all. I am not really complaining, but I am curious as to way you cannot play a character that is 9 or under anymore.

Edit: I am not really looking for opinions. I just want to know why. From someone who made the change would be nice.

In my opinion, young children have never made roleplay more interesting. They're good for kidnapping and blackmail and that's about it. A kid under 10 can't contribute to a fight, a discussion, a quest, a business... Anything. They're useless. They're little more than objects that act cute. I've met some people who did a great job roleplaying children, but almost all sound and act the same.

OK, I can understand that you in particular never got anything great from them, but why does that mean I can't RP a kid if I so feel like it and enjoy it?

Because child characters contribute nothing to RP, it's unrealistic in conflict situations where 5 year olds equip armor and pvp bandits. And with an upcoming skills plugin, it's unrealistic to have a master blacksmith/mage at age 3.

Players cannot play children correctly.

There is too many goddamn elf children. Moreso than adults sometimes.

Minimum age of 10 was exactly as it was back in asulon. Orphan children were annoying, and boring to put up with.

I honestly don't care about the minimum age, but I suggest if a player wants to play a child, require him to have a player play his parent.

I RP kids very well, as told by the people around me who know what good kid RP is. I don't know where you're getting that from.

I've seen many, many good kid RPers, and many, many bad kid RPers.  There is no reason to kill the good just to kill the bad.
