4.0 Update #3

With the removal of non censenual war you said hire bandits to raid. This infers raid rules removed? The point of removing forced war claims was for more cooperation but people claiming raid rules are not being cooperative. Also you simply can't raid a nation as little as it is set up and have any effect. Also, trade does not work in MC. Anyone can do anything. Why trade for it ?

Put soul requirements on racial nations as well. Just because they're traditional doesn't mean they should receive special treatment. If a racial nation lacks the amount of necessary souls they should face the consequences like the rest of us - not be protected out of nostalgia for the "original 4".

Yeah, we want to do this to some extent - but need to wait and see how many players they have at the start before determining the requirement - so you're on point

How will you combat soulstone abuse? Since there is this barrier for conflict, how will growing nations expand if there is a a need for it?

^^^ This. If there's to be any military roleplay at all on 4.0 (which there should be, considering the majority of all non-elven players focus on military RP), raid rules need to be significantly loosened to account for the imposition of consensual war.

Perhaps, as suggested by a member of our privy, loosen raid rules on a nation by several factors if a nation declines a warclaim.

When I say snowy plains and stuff like that, this is the kind of thing I mean, just for reference;

Asulonian Hanseti was a great example. Running through the icy plains was great back in those days.

I agree. I remember how beautiful Hanseti was, and how much fun I had exploring it. (Until that weird smog thing happened. D:)

It'll be awesome to have something similar during 4.0! ;o

Rather than a no-consent, no war type of thing, can we make it so that there needs to be a valid Casus Belli for the war claim? The Casus Belli should be clear and not something minor like 'he killed our friend' or 'they raided once or twice' but something that would actually lead to war.

Dare I say it, but I think we should have some type of loose war claim system/team with a very strict/experienced team made up of members of each nation or at least not affiliated to one in particular. They can rule if it is a valid casus belli. No nation should be able to say 'well, sure we did that but we don't want to be attacked so we deny deny deny' type of thing.

Please keep the consent to war. We don't want people war claiming people for items and OOC reasons. This community cannot be trusted with such things and no one cares about the enjoyment of the opposing sides.

It will be great if it actually works.

Why would a nation warclaim for items? Nation treasuries are usually very full. Even military orders have stacks of iron. Individual bandits could be item-hungry, but a nation going to all the trouble to start a war so that the national treasuries can be even richer? That makes no sense, especially since they could lose more iron in supplying troops than they'd earn in the war, as the troops would keep the loot to themselves.

More reasons than just items. OOC reasons. You could be minding your own business and you get a warclaim without any idea what happened. People warclaim for the sake of warclaim and we need methods to weed that out.
