Aye, we may have it so when VIP's join plots, they require less players to protect them - but there's been talk of small plots in the minecraft terrain as-well - what do you think?

Even if it's only in the non-painted areas I think vip's should be able to claim/protect a chunk, 16x16 is enough space.

It seems like new "protected" areas will open up if a nation grows by the leader requesting the admins/gms/ect. found a new town/area that is protected.  This will probably help protect the landscape as well.

It will be interesting to see what the new warclaim rules do.  Our system now helps the bigger nation too much.  This new system will probably help the smaller nation too much.  It's hard to find a balance.

What if only staff members could be top leaders who handled warfare? What if only they could rule? That way, people don't make OOC reasoned war claims, and wars don't start over arguments, items and such.

What if only Lore Masters could only be leaders, then they could make war claims that actually makes sense in accordance to lore and race tradition?

This would prevent things such as the following (which has happened): War thirsty elves, when elves (as a whole) were originally supposed to be peaceful and on good terms with other nations.

How does that sound?

Nay, you won't need to be a VIP to claim any of these predetermined plots

Thanks & surely, I'll add it to the original post

That's an interesting concept for sure.  Out in the wilds could be a nice touch for VIPs to grab a small plot or combine with others.

I guess I'm really wondering if there is any solid possibility that a VIP can own a small plot in the main RP lands that is protected regardless of heavy activity.  I'm active, but I worry about building lets say, a small druid tree, and one morning logging in to find it removed or turned into a brothel. I want a place close to the roleplay hubs to call my own. Not a giant 8 block tall wall fortress or yet another empty inn that I never end up using and taking up 100x100 blocks.  Just something simple and adds to the atmosphere.

Another worry I have is, that if I cannot log in on day one, there will be no "1 man" plots to use. They'll go fast, and those of us who didnt find one in time will be in the same rut we've been in since Aegis.  We don't have the influence or money to get a small piece of land to call our own and actually breaking into the little "cliques" that form is next to impossible.

By the second day I'm sure players will have claimed nearly anything and everything. Especially if anyone has a leg up on locations. Just an observation based on the actions that the playerbase has taken.

Howdoesthatsound?

Actually, this idea seems interesting to me... Can we seriously consider this as a legitimate option?

Rather than a no-consent, no war type of thing, can we make it so that there needs to be a valid Casus Belli for the war claim? The Casus Belli should be clear and not something minor like 'he killed our friend' or 'they raided once or twice' but something that would actually lead to war.

Dare I say it, but I think we should have some type of loose war claim system/team with a very strict/experienced team made up of members of each nation or at least not affiliated to one in particular. They can rule if it is a valid casus belli. No nation should be able to say 'well, sure we did that but we don't want to be attacked so we deny deny deny' type of thing.

Lore Masters are picked for their ability to write, not for their ability to lead. I suppose nations could ask Lore Masters for assistance in establishing a Cassus Belli (indeed I have done this several times before), but we have more important duties to follow than writing up warclaims for people.

It doesn't have to be The Lore Masters. I thought it would be fun opportunity, and open up RP for you. Could be other staff

Question. Actually more then one question. 1. Will all of these plugins come out all at once? Because if they do I'd bet that they would cause a lot of lag if they were released all at once, and the professions plugin would hold back the eventually finished magic and land plugin. 2. Will someone be able to buy someones soul land? And can the land be given to the buyer? These are just a few clarifying questions I have and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't mind answering. Thanks

Love it

But ye should not be Abe to deny a war claim for no reason, elves or newbs would abuse it, they have to learn to be a vassal or to not poke the dragon

Just wondering, has a name for 4.0 been decided on yet? And also, as others have been saying, would be possible to have more snowy terrain or perhaps even some in the style of the Fringe?

I like everything except the fact that warclaims will exist at all. They remove all RP.

A name has been chosen, however it will be released at a later date. I'll let native answer you're second question.
