MamaBearJade 2090 Share Posted April 20, 2014 Okay, one of the biggest thing people threw at me as a creator cleric is we have "killer clerics". Clerics that are allowed to kill and yet still keep their magic. Recently, I have seen and heard that there are other clerics that kill.Whether in self defense, I have hated the idea of HEALERS (especially CLERICAL HEALERS) being able to kill.I want to know your opinions to. War Clerics are bound by a different code, but Priest Clerics, healers, people sworn to save lives.I think anyone who kills as a cleric should start losing their magic unless reconnected to Tah by one of the higher clerics. The Templar 195 Share Posted April 20, 2014 No. I serve as the Master Cleric in charge of the clerical healers, and I will say that being incapable of killing is an unbelievably bad idea, simply because we are a favored target of the heretic hunters, however dubious our heretical status may be. Lago 2572 Share Posted April 20, 2014 It's in the rules that clerics cannot kill good or neutral beings. Even War Clerics can only use their powers on creatures of darkness. Hell, I rather shoot someone in the leg, crippling them than kill them. Why? Cause then i /wont/ lose my magic. Just cause you want to be able to kill people doesnt mean its right.I have seen clerics attempt to KILL children. Why? Booklight12 481 Share Posted April 20, 2014 You are a priest. You shouldn't be killing even if you are attacked. You say it is hard to protect yourselves when you are being attacked. But Killing really is a last resort thing. You don't /need/ to kill someone to save yourself. You can badly injure them, or knock them out. Because they thought it was "okay" This here is something most people I think probably have confused OOCly. They think that if their CHARACTER thinks it's okay, that the person supplying them their power will as well...there is a set of strict rules with this sort of thing that can't be changed by your character. Tahariae clerics swear their fealty to the patron, and he doesn't quite care if we kill the guy who tried to kill us. Please PM me the names of the clerics attempting to kill children, and I will get to the bottom of this and have them disconnected ((Which, according to lore, is permanent)) if this has occurred. They'd still be judged guilty of murder for human emotions? I can see your thoughts. Does seem a bit odd to me why a healer would want to murder but perhaps there could be a healer's code. 'Do no harm' and the like? Still I half doubt Tahariae would be like: "You killed an evil cultist you damned healer! YOU HAD ONE JOB! ONE FLIPPING JOB!" Why is that such a hard thing to do?You kill accidently, fine.But I think either way, you should lose your connection until you are reconnected by a higher healer such as Hosper.
