Can the lore team please put in their say on this and end it.

Aparently since I am just causing drama and stirring crap, I want this ended. It was just /my/ opinion on whether people who are clerics should be allowed to kill. And quite frankly, I am entitled to an opinion.

Tah, as I was told, is of purity and the extreme side of good.

Why would a diety who is represented as GOOD be okay with clerics killing?

The other reason is, we at no point wish to control your characters. Your characters join the order, but you still by all means have free will. Can you be chaotic evil, sure. Will you be connected for a long time if you're chaotic evil within the order? Probably not.

The decisions are yours to make, as are the consequences you meet because of them. A genocidal cleric will have a very short lived career among those within the order, and hypothetical statements like this, everyone, never make for strong arguments.

There's no point in making a cleric a sitting duck for those with evil intentions, and neutral origins. Self defense is not a sin, simply put.

But there is still the problem. As Wardog has kindly put, Clerics can kill. They can be chaotic evil if they want. And still be clerics, so long as they dont kill with their magic.

This is the exact thing I want gone. Clerics are there to heal, not kill.

Now I have to agree with Jade on this one. It's not fair that clerics can kill who they please and practically get away with it while priest healers can't even use void magic to defend themselves from bandits.

Clerics shouldn't be allowed to kill, why?  Because for example Megazero murdered a woman out of cold blood and didn't loose his power.

Other clerics do the same thing.  Yet they claim they can do that without any concequences unlike what I've been told they are allowed to do.

Clerics are op, keep their opness to a minimal.

Whom did I kill? I've only killed one person on Lenia and that was under orders from an Itharel. Wasn't female, either, nor cold blood.

So...What's the argument exactly? Creator clerics can kill through mortal means just as much as a tah healer/war cleric can. I fail to see the issue which is spurring on more drama over something already resolved.

Creator clerics used the magic to kill, that was the issue. War clerics don't, because we'll be stripped of our powers. That's the balance, though to say we can't kill at all is just silly. War clerics just can't use divine powers to kill non-tainted beings.

Example, my character doesn't kill everyone he wants. He is a neutral good character who will do what he can to benefit himself, and others. If he is attacked by a bandit or sees a bandit threatening someone's life? Well it makes sense to put down the "sickness" which plagues the world to protect those who need protecting.

Now can we cut the nigh constant threads about the nonexistent unfairness here? Because it's getting old and at this point seems to be just an intent to spur on flame wars as opposed to really getting anything meaningful done. All I am honestly seeing is posts made out of spite towards wardog, who you have consistently proclaimed discontent and malice towards. So how about instead of trying to gimp a magic type which doesn't need it? We look at actual problems and try to resolve those.

TL;DR War clerics and clerics don't use magic to kill people, creator clerics did. Creator clerics can still kill with non magic means. Stop starting huge unnecessary debates.

Pretty much as wardog says, Clerics can't kill with their clerical powers and as their only magic is clerical magic, they can't kill with magic. They can kill with a metal stick. As for if that would cause them to lose their powers, not sure. I was always under the impression that if they did willfully murder a non-dark being that did cause them to lose their powers (something about powers being "ripped from the soul") but I'm not certain.

The main argument for all Clerics being Order Clerics is it allows this sort of thing to be regulated IC rather than OOC.

My point still stands whether i am concidered a whiny brat or a drama lama.

Clerics (Tah or Creator) should not kill. That is what I dislike. Idgaf if you are a creator cleric. I didnt condone the killing. I couldnt do anything against Creator Clerics due to my situation with oren and my own personal situation.

Ask Ski_King. I was 100% for TEACHER locking creator cleric. Why? then I could keep track of it and fix it.

However, since I cant, I am stuck trying to fix the problem for BOTH sides. Not just Creator or Tah.

Clerics should /not/ be killing. Period.

"MR CLERIC OF RIGHTEOUSNESS HELP! HELP PLEASE! A PSYCHOPATHIC SLAVER HAS TAKEN MY GIRLFRIEND PRISONER!!!"

"Is it a tainted psycho slaver?"

"No..."

"oh, k, no can do, kiddo."

That pretty much sums it up actually...

It's ridiculous you can even weaponize or even use weapons with this magic while simultaneously being able to heal. The capacity to heal all ailments with the power of a token Aengul is ridiculously powerful as-is, so I think the inability to kill without losing the magic would make a nice balance.

Jade, I said I didn't know if it made them lose their powers or not. That kind of leaves a question unanswered.

It only sums it up if you're incapable of thinking of any solution to said RP situation other than extinguishing their life. The Cleric can still righteously beat the crap out of them, they just can't commit the greatest sin a mortal can commit against another mortal against them using the demigod-given powers they have been given for the explicit purpose of helping and healing their fellow man.

Also, why would you get a healer to rescue your kidnapped daughter in the first place?
