A Letter to the Lord’s Council

On the same morning of the recent declaration of a new Grand King of Urguan, a letter is delivered to the royal keep of Kal’Arkon. It bears the seal of the Kirkja Dverga and reads as follows.

“To the Lord’s Council of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan,

It has come to our attention that with the recent election of a Grand King of Urguan, numerous questions have been raised as to the manner in which voting has been conducted. Having viewed the voting process from a distance, we too have noticed a number of very specific deviations from past elections. To the best of our knowledge, these appear to be as follows:

  • Past elections have held that at least three elders must count the ballots. In this case, there appears to have been only one.

  • In past elections, the Lord who nominated a candidate would not have been allowed to take part in counting. Again, in this election, this was not the case.

  • In past elections, all votes have been made public. In the recent election however, the Lord Regent has permitted 'secret voting' and has refused anyone but himself access to view the ballot papers.

While we do not mean to suggest that the election has been rigged in any way, this merely strikes us as being rather unusual. Therefore, for the sake of fairness and clarity, the Kirkja Dverga wishes to request that the ballots of those who voted in the election are revealed to the clergy, so that we may confirm the final result before a coronation is held. We hope that such measures will lay to rest any of the more extreme allegations of corruption within the Lord's Council of Urguan. Until then, we pray the Brathmordakin will guide your judgement.

Fimlin would also like proof, he'd seen Jorik grow in Secret votes everyday, with little explain action considering most dwarves vote's were known whether they were secret or not, support was obvious.

Wulfgar looks towards Dizzy as he responds in person, offering a slight nod of his head.

"Mah t'anks fer yer cooperation Laurd Regent. Ah wud request t'at t'e full ballot beh shuwn, suh t'at weh may confirm t'e lad's identiteh n' choice ov candidate."
