When is 4.0 coming out?

A new map won't help us. A new attitude will.

I say we listen to Temp here. Raids have been out of control.

If TNT was brought back as a battle-only utility, like in Asulon, underground murderhalls and superforts would not be a problem.

Don't be the man in this article, place a cooldown for the sake of those who can't manage their time due to lack of parental figures and/or other issues. Chill it with the constant bum-fuckery raids that earn ****-nothing.

That was the article used my English exam. I found it questionable that they mentioned him 'feeling ill after 18 hours of playing the game.' WELL DOING ANYTHING FOR 18 HOURS STRAIGHT WOULD MESS YOU UP!

--------

Still on the more serious note of replying to the feed, I wholeheartedly agree. Why do war-claims that often if you can just take people my surprise in the raids?

Better yet!

"Any chunk of land you cannot keep the enemy off of by the time the battle is concluded is hereby ceded to the enemy at the end of the battle."

So if they hide in an underground bunker to avoid dying and your forces dominate the surface above it, if they are not capable of driving you away without hiding in their hole, the land above goes to you and the hole remains in enemy control.

Very much this. It's easy to say 'our fortress is underground,' but you still need the land above to grow crops and the like. If you can't keep the enemy from holding the above ground area, then they should have every right to claim it themselves. And once that's their's, there's really not much you can do but leave or starve.

This sounds like a lot of fun, and a lot of chaos.  Maybe make it really expensive, like a money sink.

Maybe, instead of chunk-based control, have a way to determine a fortification's 'region of influence'. Realistically, a giant castle with high walls could defend for a good radius around it, just from archers harassing people below, but a hole in the ground could... defend about the radius of the hole.

A chunk based system would negate traps a bit too much - They have a place in war. Larger, above-ground castles would be heavily favored for 'influence', and those types of constructs tend to be more fair.

Just bring back No-PVP zones so item hungry pvpers can stay out.

it's unfair to say everyone who PVP's is item hungry.. Most people PVP because the RP is getting stale and it's a temp map, most nations already have plenty of iron.

I didn't say all PVPers are item hungry. I said item hungry PVPers as just that, the annoying players who are out for items and PVP and not to provide fun role-play for the victim.

I still suggest the return of safe zones so people who want a pure role playing experience can have a sanctuary for that.

Declaring someone item hungry suggests an obsessive attachment to one's items, which would make them item hungry the same. It's a horribly flawed argument..

And yeah, we're fighting because the Temp Map holds no gravity or value at this time. It's why neither side is really willing to conduct serious diplomacy.

As a dwarf from the other side of the conflict, I would also like to say I would prefer a larger cooldown.

Essentially, we know we are outnumbered, so we all turn up to PVP because we know we will never be able to size up against our opposition. But this very much getting boring, because I would like to RP and frankly its not possible.

A increased time limit between raids would be very nice.

In a side note, I think I saw someone mention we are the ones initiating raids. Hardly the case, we rarely do. You guys do however have so many people you may struggle to keep track of them, relatively speaking. We usually get raided, or vice versa, someone scares them away because it will be a small group usually of bored people who show up and we chase off. It then just escalates of chasing them and forth till someone doesn't come back with increasing re-enforcements and only very few activators of the actual aggressive actions.

Tl;dr
Its literally just snowballing PVP every day, its getting /really/ repetitive and I would prefer a higher raid cool down.

If this is truely the case, and the pvp is getting boring, then why do people keep coming back?  If everyone just started saying "no" I don't want to go I'd rather rp the situation would calm itself down.  That, however, is not the case.  People keep coming back.

We never initiate the raids. We are always on the defensive. It isn't until you raid do we preform a counter-raid.

Both sides could say this at various points in the day/week.

It is hard to raid when no one shows up to defend.  Ghost towns are not fun >=D

See, this is my point. We all blame each other and we are always blamed for initial raids.

I raise this point, we are both at fault at separate occasions. We both, on each side have people initiating the engagements at different times, and neither of us are truly keeping track of people. Oren has a one hundred strong military with its allies together, and we are nearly always engaged by one faction of them.

Similarly, the Khrughanistan pact is comprised of Alrasians, Dwarves, Sariants, Uruks and Snelves and comes to a significant number speaking of many different squads, clans, and factions.

And it only takes one small group of buddies to say, on either side "Hey I am bored lets go PVP" before the conflict escalates to the full deployment of both sides.

The current raids allow too much OOC bullcrap, we need to increase the time caps. I am struggling to find time to RP when I am summoned to a fight we are permanently outnumbered in, and permanently engaged in and forced to commit to.
