The original post is usually okay. Well written, descriptive, mood music, graphics (that actually are appropriate to illustrate RP). It's all the responses they invite. Meme pictures, name calling, OOC insults with a thin sheen of RP that just barely makes it passable, and pointless repetition of catch phrases. I'd love for them to end.

So should we ban anything that causes a reaction then?

As the Cyber King, I speak for both myself and all the cyberers on this server when I say: make remove of these minor victory threads. If a thread has no purpose beyond declaring a minor victory over a single inconsequential raid, and is likely to provoke breaking RP, abrasive remarks and increased tension between groups, I see no need to keep them coming. Reserve these posts for battles and important raids (capturing a member of Royalty, destroying [like actually destroying] a settlement or important building, stealing something significantly valuable). At the very least, lock the threads quickly when they get posted if it's clear they'll insight less than ideal responses and hide the aforementioned responses, although this takes away the indicators suggesting these threads are causing issues.

How about we actually just act like this is a fun game :D

If it were that simple we wouldn't have to put up with two years of drama that we get from nation wars.

Rules are rules. Let the mods handle the INDIVIDUALS posting the inappropriate threads. Don't create more rules for the whole.

Minnie's summed it up pretty nicely actually.

Just lock them. Let the people have their fun and declare their victories, it's RP, and good for history. It's the comments that case any issues, so just lock the treads.

This is Lord of the Craft we are talking about. I have been telling people they need to get over themselves for two years now and they still cannot manage it. The problem this server deals with stems from a deep addiction players have to this game. For a huge number of people this game is in fact their life, they do nothing outside of it, they have little to no socialization outside of the game world, and they forget how they are supposed to deal with actual human beings.

People on this game are addicts, they are unhealthily absorbed in the game, and I honestly think the best way to deal with that would be to stop this server from being 24/7, and instead give it some down time for people to cool off. I know that will not happen of course.

The forums have also become a cesspit. As much as I enjoyed the Carrion roleplay I had when I came back a few months ago,  the style of forum roleplay that was employed during that time was an absolute travesty and it continues to this day. The fact that single sentence in character quotations that serve only as thinly veiled out of character attacks are not only the norm, but are expected is simply disgusting. If I were to make a suggestion, no roleplay response should be less than 500 characters long, anything less than that is a pathetic excuse of writing and should be removed and the poster given a warning if it serves only to inflame others.

This past year has revealed an amazing drop in quality of the forums. They used to be bad because of people complaining out of character, but now even in character responses are becoming absolute garbage. The sense of community in this place is gone, and it is because caustic baiting and biting roleplay posts with no thought behind them are allowed prevalence and acceptance.

Make me a Forum Moderator and I'll start cleaning up this cesspit of a forum

I'm only toxic to people who are toxic to me. Redbaron, get down off your intellectual high horse and realize I didn't start the hate on this thread. I mean damn, I've said maybe two words to you and it's suddenly "evil watyll he is the cancer eating lotc!!1"

Watyll, we had a talk a year and a half ago about the White Rose because you were angry at the quality of their roleplay and how you perceived the descent of Oren into xenophobia to be illogical. If I remember you had become very angry at us and you disregarded us. If I recall you took an aggressive stance against the White Rose because you thought their hatred stemmed from being out of character.

You need to step back, relax and evaluate things before you assume people are attacking you. Remember what you said before:

"I've been rather stressed lately, and have taken it out on Oren and the White Rose."

"No it is not alright, because I've done the same thing to you as countless others have done to me."

Just because someone has done something to you does not mean it is right to do the same thing unto them, just as you said. Remember bro, it is just a game and if you are stressed, then you are not playing the game right and you should do something else.

I agree with niccum in the sense that watyll should shut up and the victory posts themselves aren't the problem. They're usually pretty well thought out and well written. It's the fact it always devolves into shitstorms in the comments below.

Come on now guys, half the time, Watyll is just responding to the **** talking posted from the other side. If you truly want him to relax about this, you should have just asked him calmly, not pointed insults towards him.

As for the victory posts over these raids, I agree to be honest. 90% of them usually give a huge distortion of the facts and are mostly just based on propaganda. The majority of dwarves agreed we should save them for the real battles but when we see a victory post made for the other side, it pushes us to want to make our own. I don't even understand where people find the time to make this many huge threads day in, day out though to be honest.

It'd be nice to see some more friendly, joking propaganda that gives this war a lighter tone OOCly.

Perhaps just have an FM lock it as soon as it's posted or tell people any 'trolling posts' will be given warnings? I also think victory posts should also be for more 'major' events, though we used to go on about every single victory (even making up the numbers we killed for propaganda, it shouldn't be the case here.)
