It's funny how you say this after dwarves make their very first victory post. The mentality here seems to be "No! Only we're allowed to do that!"

Watyll, I'll happily sit with you in Teamspeak 3 and explain a few things to you if you'd come to LotC Teamspeak. Before then, I'd like to note that "things that seem such" may not actually be such. You are complicit in breeding spite between your own and those you oppose. I'm guilty of it even, which I ask forgiveness, so we can wipe our hands clean in the river to pray, studying about that good ol way...

I honestly think that the two sides should "vote" on their best fiction writer and let them write mature posts. I wrote a mature victory post and moderated it fairly. I kept my guys in check to ensure no "Hahah ****** lol wow we won!!!" were thrown up.

Well, victory posts for actual battles (WC battles) should still be allowed.

Come on now guys, half the time, Watyll is just responding to the **** talking posted from the other side. If you truly want him to relax about this, you should have just asked him calmly, not pointed insults towards him.

As for the victory posts over these raids, I agree to be honest. 90% of them usually give a huge distortion of the facts and are mostly just based on propaganda. The majority of dwarves agreed we should save them for the real battles but when we see a victory post made for the other side, it pushes us to want to make our own. I don't even understand where people find the time to make this many huge threads day in, day out though to be honest.

It'd be nice to see some more friendly, joking propaganda that gives this war a lighter tone OOCly.

I sorta agree withe Zezimus, the posts should just document things that happen IG and take a less "Get red you ******* c**t" and more of the "We won but good fight chum"

This turned into a big deal pretty fast but I'm gonna' ignore the flame war and give my actual two cents on the subject at hand.

I'm pretty sure we don't need to eliminate any kind of RP on the server ever under any circumstances? For whatever reason really. If everyone on the threads could just avoid flaming I think victory threads can be nice celebrations to reward RP characters for doing good jobs RPly. I really don't think it needs to escalate to anything other than several posts by involved characters of their friends about "woot we did that high fives yeah ace detectives".

While I agree they are kinda' redundant so are most posts and if they're fun for a little while, great! I just think everyone should keep to their side of the conflict. We can have "lose" threads too if that makes things neater.

Really. 'S just RP. We don't need flame wars or nothin'. Sorry if I sound outta' place here, just thought I'd give the thread some direction and stuff to talk about.

It seems I've been ganked while asleep, but I'll respond to each of you.

@Zebanamana: Thank you again for having that chat with me. I still use that pm convo for info on human racism. Thank you also for trying to defuse the situation, but I'm not "perceiving" any insults. I have been insulted, and I'm not just going to take it.

@Niccum: You should honestly feel bad about yourself for judging me without ever having talked to me one on one. I don't know why you hate me so much, as I've never said anything negative about you or the Lucienists when they were still around. Hell, I tried to get them involved in an event quest line I was running the one time, which Zhulik told me you refused because "it might be a cleric plot". Calm down.

@Zezimus: Thank you.

@Gaius: Yeah, I know I made an assumption. It was a mistake, which I've since apologized for to Kowaman on page 2. This has now turned into a way to get peoples hate towards me out of their system so:

Anyway, if you have a problem with me take it to PMs. This is supposed to be a thread of rational discussion.

I agree with Wilette. Don't remove an element of server role play simply because it causes friction between opposing factions. The mods tried to do that at the beginning of the war and look how that turned out. Role play is a loud activity that shouldn't be muted.

Before I get to it, I'm going to request that no FM remove this post, it is not trolling and its my point of view of victory posts. So let me begin

In my eyes the people who post victory posts remind me of this specific scene in a movie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28snhq40C8o

The problem is the attitude of some of the people, sometimes I think all these victory posts are just to get an OOC reaction as some people just keep posting them. I sometimes see two or three victory posts of the supposed same battle (Often one being one side the other being the other side) I feel as if people in TS are just laughing about it hoping to get the other side to rage or make their own post. People need to grow up in general as some of the really good victory posts, the really well written ones get bogged down in things like

"It didn't happen like this" says man

its bloody disgraceful and we ought to OOC'ly appeciate when we've been beaten but for some reason we're unable to, we just need to suck it up and go "GG otherside you beat us this time" and not write out a victory thread claiming victory if you have infact lost. I'm kinda rambling I may not know what the hell I'm talking about sometimes but this is what I've seen so far in my point of view. If you disagree with me please calmly respond and no passive aggressiveness please. For now just Do The La La La La

As pretty much everyone else is saying, it's OOC attitudes, not victory posts. As of late we're starting to see that attitude going away and the war becoming less OOC-motivated and much more light-hearted and actually fun. I really hate the divide the war caused, and it's due to perpetrators on both sides that either take things far too seriously or make things far too trolly, but removing victory posts won't do much to help that.

Also, locking victory posts as soon as they're made just makes the losing side more bitter, as they feel that they're basically being prevented from speaking out against some hyperbole about how the winning side annihilated when in reality they're usually well-matched fights.

As it stands, the disposition of War posts are well known, I will not pretend I know the solution or that I represent any portion of the community, but that I have an idea.

This post has identified itself as a set atmosphere, and would desire you to comply with its tones. Any out of character problems should be brought to the author of the post via PMS. Details

To be totally honest. I love this. Do this, and whatever they say would officially be considered trolling - which is a bannable offense. Please do.

Don't remove victory posts, instead try to fix the attitude of the players. Nation leaders should keep their members from trolling on them.

How about delete any trolling posts, and if they post again, give them a forum warning? Or lock the thread when it is posted? It provides roleplay information of current events, so they aren't all bad.
