Konrad sat upon his dark horse, the Rovin keep behind him. He had called the remaining members of the Order of Saint Lucien together, one final quest. As they arrived, the hour was late. Wind howled and stormclouds boomed with dark thunder.

Voron, Quinlan, Rick, Jack, Faiz, Saeros, Raigeki, Liam McLeod, Ludovic, Ehrick Elderson, Marcus Constantine, and as the night went on the rest arrived. The remaning Order of Saint Lucien all gathered in one place, wearing new tabards and armor, some still holding Lorraine crosses, or a red cross on an armband, a testament to what they once were, now all but forgotten but by themselves.

Jack, an elderly man rode forward, squinting, the armor of the Caerngard visible "Konrad... Good t' see ya. Now wot 'n th' Nethah 'ave ye called us all 'ere for?

Konrad nodded, removing his helmet, his hair down to his shoulders, and his face unshaven. He looked Orenian now, but the savage look in those blue eyes of his remained. That thirst for ending those who opposed him. Heretics, infidels, traitors, and monsters. His voice was a low pitch, not loud or quiet, just low as he spoke "One last quest, Grandmaster. One final hurrah for the Order of Saint Lucien. I have found a cave, i is massive inside and filled with evil. Only we have the knowledge to purge such a place. This may be the end for many of us, should you choose to go, but it would be a death for God. He commands us to go and make this last, final purge. For His glory, Grandmaster."

Jack nodded quietly, thinking.

Voron, now an Imperial Decurian in the Imperial Army rode forward "I'm with you."

Raigeki next, his katana on his back "Hai. I will follow you this day."

Liam next "Aye, oim with ye. Fer Clan McLeod."

Faiz appeared from the shadow, wearing his Keffiyeh, giving a nod.

The rest all nodded, shouts of "Aye" "Deus Magnus!" "For the Creator!" all sounded.

Jack gave an old smile, and nodded. "One last quest, Brother-Cleric."

Konrad nodded, and dismounted, drawing his sword, the rest did the same, and kneeled as he did, bowing their heads in prayer.

"God, almight in the Seven Skies, grant us Your favor here. Guide our blades this one last time as we did once, as brothers in arms and Holy Warriors. We fight this day for You, in Your name, for Your glory and land. We may have put away our tabards, let them gather dust, but today we draw our swords. We raise our shields. We don our armor, and we go to remove a stain from Your land. This last time, we are brothers united in the name of God. Deus Magnus, Deus Vult!"

The gathered stood and raised their sword repeating "DEUS MAGNUS, DEUS VULT!"

They repeated it until their lungs were empty and voices hoarse, the nearby town of Atgard looked over their walls, frightened, they put out their torches and ended their heresy for the night for fear of Holy Retribution.

The Order of Saint Lucien mounted their horses, and rode behind Konrad, the word of God inspiring them, as the sky broke in the early morning behind them, and daylight shone upon them.

The men of the Order of Saint Lucien rode hard and fast, all morning and afternoon, stopping only to slay a band of Dwarves and water their horses with taking a drink and praying. It was late afternoon when they arrived, a small horde of brigands, undead, and monsters lay before them, they halted and observed, their form peaking over the hill as silhouettes.

Konrad raised his sword, and looked at those behind him "Fod God and the Imperium! Deus Magnus, Deus Vult! CHAAAARGE!

A rallying cry was sounded off, and the crowd of minions below was stunned, and a screaming phalanx of heavy knights charged down the hill, battle cries on their lips and God's love and retribution filling their souls.

The melee quickly ensued, and the knights were forced to dismount, finding a battle brother to aid them, they carved their way through the horde of heretics and renegades.

xFI8LOm.jpg

After what seemed an eternity of mindless combat, slash, hack, block, stab, parry, uppercut, overhand swing, block, slash slash slash, block stab, the knights all were in a circle.

Konrad wasted no time, the men took breaths, sweating and dirty, they moved forward, into the mouth of the cave.

The tunnel was big enough for the group to march together, not being forced singlefile or into a double line. They continued down the dimly lit corridor, taking torches with them, slaughtering any resistance they encountered. Witches, brigands, monsters, all laid to waste by the Crusaders.

Finally, they made it to the bottom. It must have been a mile deep down, and it opened to a massive glittering chamber. Gems, wealth, gold, and relics all piled up. This would have tempted any but these pious men. They marched to the middle, where a twelve foot beast stood, its bones visible beneath taught brownish black skin, its face was a blank mask of bone, with eyes all over, no mouth visible, and horns from the top of its head.

Konrad marched forward, and held out in his off hand a Lorraine cross, shouting down the demon "You are a blight on His world, demon! Surrender and let us smite thee, in the name of God! Resist and be slain by the blades of these pious men!"

The monster turned, it held a blade wreathed in black, murky clouds, its hand one of clawed bones. It held out its own hand, in a mocking fashion of Konrad, whispering from its nonexistant mouth words in a foul language.

The air turned greasy, and suddenly, the cavern started to rumble, but Konrad stood firm. Around the battle brothers hands clawed at them, and corpses rose. Some fresh, other centuries old and sporting gear of all eras and fashions, setting in upon the brave warriors.

Konrad let out a shout to his brothers "For the Creator, and the Imperium! Deus Magnus! Deus Vult!"

The soldiers echoed his call and set in on the horde of monsters. However, as one fell, two rose to take its place. But Konrad pushed on, he charged the beast, hacking at its knees with his Zweihander, and implanting it within the chest of the beast, he drew his Kaedrini longsword, and scaled the monster, he gave a prayer to the Creator, and felt the power of God course through his blade.

Konrad shouted and thrust his sword into the head of the beast, and an ear piercing shriek let loose in the cavern. The Lucienist men clutched their ears, and the horde seemed to freeze and seize up, shaking and falling, defeated and crumbling to dust.

8RPZ879.jpg

Konrad continued his melee with the dying beast, it leaked fire from its wounds and dark energy, he turned to his brothers and shouted after them "Go! Get out of here! Your job is done!"

Jack nodded, Voron saluted swiftly. Raigeki screamed and dropped his blade, running to grab Konrad, having to be pulled back by his comrades, the Lucienist men gave prayers and ran out of the cavern, up the tunnel.

Konrad forced the beast to the ground, pulling out a chained copy of the Holy Scrolls bound to his belt, he began to recite passages from the Book of Navitates. The beast shrieked and crumbled, turning black as the skin peeled off, the body shriveled up, and the spirit was dispelled, the exit collapsed and Konrad looked back, the beast thrust its' blade into Konrad, he collapsed, his face one of shock, he turned to the beast, which shrieked and collapsed inwards as it was dispelled.

((End other music now))

Konrad, the Brother-Cleric of the Order of Saint Lucien collapsed to his knees, looking up, a single beam of light peaked through a crack in the ceiling. His time was done, he was ready.

No1zOVM.jpg

He felt the warmth of the Creator, his fallen comrades, even as life leaked from his body. moving backwards onto a rock, he rested, taking off his helm, he gripped his sword. An old Heinzreich-Rovin tradition. If you didn't hold your weapon as you died, there was less honor in the death.

ayqENw1.jpg

Konrad held up his hand, seeing what wasn't there, his face formed a smile, a true one as tears leaked from his eyes, he weeped because he was going home. Konrad saw his family, his friends, comrades, they were welcoming him home. Konrad let out his final breath, a quiet exhale and shut his eyes. He woke up in a green pasture for endless miles, and smiled, he was home.

uTrz7VT.jpg

Meanwhile as the knights rode fast away to tell their tale and spread the name of Konrad, they all grieved. Voron shed a single tear, and comforted his comrades. Raigeki shed open tears, forever remembering his friend. Jack spoke of his former uncle with great praise. The rest would tell stories, weep, drink to his name, or honor him in their own way. As they rode home, a light broke the clouds behind them.

mHXN93t.jpg

And so ended Konrad Loken. Son of a poor man. Adunian, knight, crusader, and Cleric in the Order of Saint Lucien. Known as "Uncle Konrad" to his friends, he was always smiling and comforting his brothers. He was a beacon of hope and light. But he had not fallen here, no, this was not the end. Death is but another path we all must take. Past the far green country, to live an abundant life with those we once lost. So they carried his name, Konrad, friend and comrade.

OOC Shout-out

I wanna give a shout out to everyone I can recall that made Konrad such a full experience. I can finally put him to rest knowing his story was done.

Niccum: You helped keep the Heinzreich alive with the Rovin, and made one badass RP hub for us all in the OSL. It was the best RP I've ever had.

CCCP_Zhulik: I remember coming back and seeing all these bearded blonde men shouting "UNCLE KONRAD" and I laughed with Yopp because you were all weirdos. I'm glad to have RP'd with you.

Leowarrior: I used to think you were a whiny b**** but then we actually RP'd and now I can say you're one of my favorite guys here. Come back to Oren when you're done supporting the Wood Elves alright?

Jackster: Tooten timez! Let's play some Civ V soon, I owe you for RPing with me in the TO!

Galandeeeeer (Or whatever): Miss our RP. Let's hook it up mate!

Mdhegs: You taught Konrad how to Cleric. :')

Yoppl: You actually managed to keep one character for a long time. Derrik was my favorite nephew.

Will/Kais: #BestBodyguard

Knox213: Konrad scouted the North on Heinrik's request, and helped make him one cold mutha f*****

Sarkly: OSL4LYFE

Duckd8: Mallard

Crowley/Weetos: Nordic Brethren! Never fear!

Charles_Grimlie: ROSENCRAAAANTZ

Griff: Rick Felder... Best OSL.

Shady: You are actually super cool. I'm glad you're my current XO in the Imperial Army, keep dem metal shavings comin'! MMM!

TaylorStriffe: I adopted your kid in RP because you abandoned her. We also had a secret homosexual affair between Abner and Konrad because of his beard. <3

SortedJarhead: Honestly, Eoghan was the best Adunian. He was hearty, bad*ss, and a rebel. A true Adunian besides the fact he was Scottish. Let's keep working on LotC: The Game though, we gotta finish it and not suffer delays.

OSL: You guys were honestly the best roleplay I've ever had. I was crushed we had to disband, but I am glad I met you all. You all represent the best in LotC I feel. Cool OOCly, able to roleplay, and actually helpful. I can't count the times we stopped to help new players who were lost get directions and set up. You guys are the best.

Those I forgot: I didn't forget you! Just your name :). You all helped shape the character I have had the most fun with. Every encounter, conversation, everything all helped give me the best time I've ever had on LotC. I don't think I'll ever have a character quite like Konrad again, but I hope to have the same level of fun on a new one.

Ensign Kato stares into a mirror in his quarters, adjusting the collar of his new officer's uniform. His mind drofts during the downtime, thinking back to his days as a chef and where he had gotten now. Along the nostalgic trip, he remembers those that have been lost such as Heinrik Carrion, Rydel, Rymeul, Alphonz, Quinlan and recent comrades such as Decurion Maurice of the former third company. He even thinks back to beloved Koneneme whom he feels may be gone forever.

For a moment, deep down, he became envious of some of the other races for their long lives and certain niches that allow them to survive. Raigeki knew mankind was made up of risk takers, which lead to many fallen. How he wished to fight alongside his fellow brothers in arms forever without worrying of when the next one of them would die.

The easterner's day dream flashes back to the most recent of cases, Uncle Konrad. He had already shed tears for the man who was indeed like an uncle to him much as he viewed Jack a father and Voron a brother. Anymore, especially infront of his men, might sew the idea that Raigeki was not strong enough to help lead Hammertruppen.

He exhales loudly, leaving his room. The former Lucien Knight gives a firm nod to fellow comrades Marcus Constantine and Alistair before saluting fellow Ensign Dion Light and his decurion Arthal Lowedge. With a smile. And he prayed this moment would not change.

A middle-aged Adunian would sit in the corner of an unnamed tavern, crowded by other Adunians and the sort. The Adunian would carry a large burn scar on his left face, though many of his comrades would say it was from the clinically approved 'cancer'. He had a tattered Lucienist tabard on, although appearing worn, a man would clearly recognize what it was. On his head would be something shiny, and those with keen eyes would see it to be the Circlet of Horen, although no one knew if it was the real deal or just some fake. On his back would be the large sword of Durendal, the runes of the sword glowing in the darkness of the tavern. He would be talking to an unnamed Adunian across from him, when a young boy would whisper something in the scarred Adunian's ear. He would lean back, sighing deeply, before going back to his business: planing, predicting, scheming.

Abner makes his way silently into his room, having just been delivered the news of his fallen friend. Shutting the door behind himself, he slumps down against the wall, letting out a shaky sigh. Rubbing his face with both hands, he whispers: "I'm gonna miss yah, ol' friend..."

Voron sat quitely in the corner of his barracks, a pile of wood beside him. For hours he could be seen carving the oak with his old Lucienist officer dagger in complete silence as he crafts a myriad of wooden lorraine crosses.

With a knot here and there Spivey finally emerges from his cage...
"Aye cap! did you get the news? Mah best customer is dead!"

azU7718.png
Voron merely stares at Spivey, remembering the days of the dangling chicken den within Brom'Kah, it was a prison yet it was the meathod of escape for the Rovin family all thanks to Konrad's funds via business.

9Em6XLq.jpg

"We was mer' than just a customer, Spivey, he let us break our chains frem' Lachlan's evil creed."

Spivey seemed to giggle, his crude brown teeth glistening in the torch light. "Cap, are ye' a pooseh? Ye' seem softah' than an average Kharadeen daughter- oh how they take the risk of showin' their eyes... what danger it resides in my heart; I love a lass who takes risks!" Spivey seems to spasm a bit following his statement.
FU8F0o7.png

Voron shakes his head solemnly, chucking his mighty dagger at Spivey, thus causing him to flee back into his cage. Voron rises with an armful of crosses, heading towards the entrance to the cave. Using his mighty warhammer he slams the crosses into the sod outside of it, leaving them as a symbol for Konrad's pride.

Konrad will always be a beacon of pride and a symbol of determination implanted within the Rovin family.
