Supremacy 3361 Popular Post Share Posted June 26, 2014 Hello chaps and chapettes, A few simple suggested alterations, some of which I've suggested before, to make raids less about OOCly antagonising a group and more about RP. If you deny the all allies and standard rules pillage war claim of a group, you can not raid them more than once a week. If you do, this counts as acceptance of the war claim. If a party wins a war claim against you, you can't raid them for 2 weeks. This first rule is simple: It prevents people from hiding behind the ability to deny a war claim OOC and then raid people until they're sick of logging in. If you bring an armed group to the gates of a city and try to get in, this counts as a raid— Even if you do not manage to get in the city. You are subject to any bans/warns and also accept a standard pillage war claim. Edit: Once you leave sight range for more than 5 minutes, the raid is over. This rule is more complex in its rationale: This stops people from camping the gates of a city and shouting trolly insults to try to damage the RP going on inside. If you're going to raid: Get it over with quickly and be done with it. If you raid, you may not stay more than 15 minutes longer than when the last defender was killed or captured (you can't keep people and kill them every 15 minutes to extend this). If you do not kill or capture (as in physically restrain, not just let them sit in their house) and still linger after this time period this counts as a break in raid rules. You are subject to any bans/warns and also accept a standard war claim. This one is simple. This stops people form occupying cities and blocking RP. More than once I've seen the tree in Lin'ame camped on for an hour and a half, denying people the ability to RP in their city. Do the raiders achieve anything? No, they just damage RP. IC point made, you raided. So leave. I hope these are reasonable suggestions, folks!
Minniefox 16 Share Posted June 26, 2014 This seems very beneficial to a few and less for others.

Lago 2572 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Your rules don't account for people breaking them save for the very first. I would go as far to include conquest warclaims: A warclaim has a 24 hour grace period after it goes up: after that, any raid by the warclaimed faction against the warclaiming faction counts as acceptance of the warclaim as written. Jistuma 1996 Share Posted June 26, 2014 On the first rule, what is a raid by the town/nation? Players sometimes just raid because of raiding and would probably damage the town/nation without even being part of it or not going on their commands. DrakeHaze. 2524 Share Posted June 26, 2014 City occupation is RP, deal with it in RP instead of putting up OOC barriers to combat it. Why would a group stop raiding constantly if you won't meet their demands? Fight back.

Why would a rapist stop raping constantly if you don't satisfy his needs? Just kill the rapist IC!" We block some things because they create an undesirable server environment. Destroying RP in cities for hours at a time creates an undesirable server environment. Same logic.
Praetor 1550 Share Posted June 26, 2014 No. Give reasons instead of trying to act cool by posting one word answers. PS: I support this one though Jistuma does have a point, some clarification required I suppose.

It's two emotes followed by a pvp counter for anyone unlucky enough to log in for the duration.
CosmicWhaleShark 2488 Share Posted June 26, 2014 City occupation is RP, deal with it in RP instead of putting up OOC barriers to combat it. Why would a group stop raiding constantly if you won't meet their demands? Fight back. What demands, out of curiosity? The last time you raided Lin'ame, you shouted a single command to fire. There were never any demands. We've literally received no demands ever in the course of this 'war' to my knowledge. You guys just show up to PvP, as far as I can tell.
Samler 1565 Share Posted June 26, 2014 The last rule can easily be walked around by not killing said last defender, reviving just before the guy dies and kill him again and again and again to extend their time. A little fiddling with it would be suggested.
