Edict of Reformation:

As of the 4th of The Amber Cold, 1463, a number of long needed reformations will be put into place in the Adunian Realm of Ryme’Dul by the Council of Thanes. These reformations are as follows:

Removal of the Elendil Monarchy and Empowerment of the Council of Thanes-

-After more than a millennium of following set traditions, the position of Adunian Lord may now be taken up by any man from the recognized Adunian clans deemed worthy of leading the Adunian people through a unanimous vote taken by the Council of Thanes. The Adunian Lord keeps his position until death or such a time when the Council deems him unfit to rule, when he may be dethroned via a unanimous vote.

-The Council of Thanes may now override the decisions of the Adunian Lord if the majority (defined as 50% or more) of it’s members agree to do so.

-The Adunian Lord no longer appoints positions on the Council of Thanes. The Council members are nominated by citizens of the Realm (they may not nominate themselves) and then the entire Council must agree on appointing one of these nominees to the position in question. Members of the Council of Thanes may not take place in nominating citizens for the positions.

-The positions on the reformed Council of Thanes will be as follows:

High Thane (leader of the Council)

High Steward (in charge of managing the settlements and citizens of the Realm)

High Constable (charged with keeping law and order in the Adunian Realm)

Lorekeeper (provides the Adunian people with knowledge pertaining their history)

High Chaplain (represents the Church of the Reformed Communion in Ryme’Dul)

Establishing The Church of The Reformed Communion and Removing The Old Faith-

-Following over a century of being poisoned by the lies of the so called ‘Old Faith’, the Adunian people of Ryme’Dul shall convert back to the religion righteously chosen for them by Artorus Elendil; Creatorism.

-The Church of The Reformed Communion will be accepted as the one and only Church of the Realm, being given a place for a representative on the Council of Thanes (High Chaplain) in the place of the former Archfather, and land for a place of worship to be erected.

-All citizens of the Realm will be required to convert to follow the Church of The Reformed Communion. Citizens who refuse will be banished from Adunian lands and executed if they defy their punishment and return (unless of course they are returning in order to convert themselves and rejoin Adunian society).

-All standing monuments to the Old Faith or other religions are to be dismantled and places of worship destroyed. Relics of the Old Faith are to be relinquished to the Lorekeeper so that they may be either destroyed or stored away as pieces of Adunian history.

Eldaril wonders what real power Thorenir has to actually enact something along these lines without the consent of the Lord, whom /is/ Eldaril after his father conceded the position to him.

Arnorian wonder what real power Thorenir has to enact something along these lines without consent of anyone including the lord and the people, and where the hell he was the last like 20 years.

Deep in a cave in the swamps of the Fringe, Kayrin Elendil studies the edict under candlelight. Beside him on an iron stand sits a deep blue ball he has clearly been studying. He scoffs quietly to himself, "Hm, well, doesn't this seem familiar. Oh wait, it was one of the reasons I dismissed the idea of a council of thanes. My poor cousin. I wonder if he'll grow sick of the rebellions as well." He then folds the edict, tucking it into the drawer of the desk and returning to his study of the ball.

Silly adunians, we almost converted Adunia to the True Faith back when Phil was Thane or something.

The ghost of Quinlan Campbell thinks that with all due respect to Rymeul and Rydel, let another family other than the ******* Elendils lead Adunia because apart from those two that entire bloodline is an inbred incompetent group of simpletons who were dropped when they were young.

Atlas feels offended for a moment but then he remembers how even more inbred and incompetent the Campbells were. Other than that he agrees that other clans should be given to opportunity to lead.
