Thales: Changelog Draft 25-07-14

BIG RED DISCLAIMER: make sure the first thing you do when profession selection is out is to select your favorite skill as your primary profession. If you don't, you are liable to be capped and lose your progress.

A more complete, less drafty changelog will follow (maybe), but for now feast your eyes on this:

.:: Changelog ::.

2x2 Crafting Grid is back.
You can use your personal craft grid to create a myriad of basic MC items (not all of them). This should hopefully provide easier access to items not fitting in any workbenches, as well as making the transition easier on new players.

Professions can be selected.

Crafting times reduced across the board, removed for most essential materials.
The reduce in crafting time is also made very steep, making leveling your professions worthwhile. A masterful craftsman will craft items five times as fast as an inexperienced one.

Racial Bonuses added, from the document posted before, with the following amendments:
  • Mountain Dwarf and Cave Dwarf had their subracial traits switched.
  • High Elves exchanged woodworking for stonemason
  • Humans upgraded their Companionship buff to Troop Morale buff. The compensation is that their 'universal' profession now no longer raises the cap on an Inept-capped skill.

Chef, Leatherworker, Woodworker, Stonemason and Tinker can now be levelled.
- Each profession has additional craftables not visible at the lowest tiers.

Alchemy and Enchanting workbenches are available, but do not yet have unique recipes. Currently being worked on.
Alchemy: Ever
Enchanting: Kowaman

Armor slow changed: Less base slow + less slow from better blacksmiths.

XP Rates changed:
- Mining XP boosted
- Breeding cooldown reduced
- Farming XP reduced

Fishing:
- Revamped treasure drop tables
- Chance of multiple fish when baiting
- More generous rewards for net fishing

Doing /sk <skill name here> select <main/second/bonus> ?

EG:

/sk fisher select main

Can the negative skill values be set back to 0 now? It will be a pain to bring skills up from the negative 1000's.

We'll be looking into perhaps doing this - for now it doesn't negatively impact you unless you want to train the negative skills up.

Sporadic put it a bit vaguely, but you can craft simple things such as wood planks/workbenches in your crafting using vanilla mechanics now.

I kinda liked it before but people demanded this.

Why not implement a locked profession so players will have to go to X profession guild to learn it?
