Zhulik 3559 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Question is why was I banned the first time. I'm pretty sure I was talking and joking with you Zhulik, and they kept dragging me down, playing sex noises. I would leave they would repeat, they banned me for a second, I came back and continued to talk to you. You told me to pay them no mind. Really Tau, calling me a whale, again? From what I remember you were in my section of the TS whilst I was having a separate convo with Snoop as I was RPing with him. That being said, I was busy and told you to ignore them. However, you did not ask me for my recommendation in the first place towards the situation. IF I WAS GETTING THE FULL JIST of what was going on, I'd have suggested you to leave. And when they continued to pull you back after rejoining... Could you not have seen the pattern?
Epidemiix 35 Share Posted July 27, 2014 The question isn't why you were banned deary. Rocket clearly states the topic in the beginning about why they were banned. If they were harassing you and you knew they would continue you should have put two and two together and stayed a distance away from them to keep yourself 'safe'. lιoɴ 248 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication of our forum moderators who are doing their damn best to keep this clean? You know, they say Work sets you free. The drama with how she got banned, why, and things that do not concern this topic shall stop please n' thank you. The fact that she got banned is relevant in that they did not want her in their TS3. As it is a TS3 not beholden to LotC's rules and "jurisdiction", they can bar any whom they desire. Lago 2572 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Same thing applies vice versa, surely? Assuming you mean LotC can bar whoever they desire, yes in the case of Tythus and Tythus only, as he's the server owner. That's only an ability too, if admins frequently banned for dislike without even the pretence of cause then we'd run out of players and have a dead server very, very quickly. GMs do not own the server, they have a mandate from the admins to moderate and ban those who breach the server rules and those who breach the server rules only. If a GM were to go around banning those they don't like for, in the view of the admins, no valid reason, then they wouldn't be a GM for long. Unless LotC has a clause that states in lamest terms "We can just bar you from the server for f*ck all". LotC's a private server that isn't legally obliged to allow anyone onto it. So in theory you can be barred from the server for **** all. Same with any Minecraft server. The admins don't because they're not twits but they can. Neri 3590 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Unless LotC has a clause that states in lamest terms "We can just bar you from the server for f*ck all". If I remember correctly in the ToS it states... Rights If, acting reasonably, we consider that our Terms and Conditions have or may have been breached, or that there has been fraudulent, unlawful or abusive activity, or that it is necessary in order to prevent or stop any harm or damage to us, to any LOTC service, to other players or the general public, we may Stop (as defined above) any or all accounts of LOTC services which we think are connected with the offender subject to such right of appeal as is specified on our website and/or restrict access to or delete virtual currency or anything acquired by means of virtual currency. Such actions may result in loss of membership credit and/or loss of real money paid as part of any item / account trading or other prohibited transaction. ... that crossing the line between jokes and abuse can get you banned. It's on a case by case basis that the Admins (or just the Owner, unsure) can decide on.
Tentoa 3160 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Same thing applies vice versa, surely? They're running a small group of like-minded friends. Not the largest(And best as the server likes to claim) minecraft roleplay server. There is a difference, the server is being given money from people from donation. It's on a case by case basis that the Admins (or just the Owner, unsure) can decide on. In this case, you walk right back into the issue of jurisdiction. LotC doesn't have jurisdiction over Rymora.net TS, Mogroka [or another] has said jurisdiction. Likewise, we walk into the lawyerly business of trying to figure out what abusive activity actually indicates and stop any harm. Verbal abuse typically does not harm anyone. Yet I won't touch on it due to subjectivity. Likewise we are once again ignoring the fact that the moderators of Rymora.net initially barred her from their TS3.
