In Regards To Recent Events...

Now, I'm going to risk a ban for this, but it is worth it to bring this topic into the light. Many of you by now must have seen this thread and read it. Some of you may agree with it, others not.

 

However, this ban is illegitimate. In regards the the server rules (found here), they did absolutely nothing wrong. This all happened in a non-LotC affiliated medium, meaning that due to it not being endorsed, policed or affiliated with or by LotC, any and all interactions are null and void in the general scheme of the server. The fact that the reporter was already removed, and even banned should have been a clear warning; or, the reporter simply should have grown thicker skin. Returning to such, willingly putting yourself in that situation, in an unmoderated medium, even after being banned and/or kicked, shows that they willingly put themselves into a situation as such.

 

To ban someone for such, a group of people is simply nonsensical, and a breach of the rights that moderators have. Were I to punch a member of this community in real life, I highly doubt that I could be banned for this. Were I to call another member of this community names or derogatory terms in something such as an online game, I highly doubt I would be banned. So, why should these few individuals have to suffer from a complete breach of authoritative rights, and an illegitimate ban?

 

This whole debacle is simply stupid, idiotic and demoralising. If they are not to be unbanned, then should not the supposed quote-unquote victim be banned for just as long for willingly (and repeatedly) putting themselves in the situation?

Going back to what I said earlier-

I would just like to state that most places /do/ have legislation, more-so put out to children but also slightly effective for adults, against cyber-bullying or stalking. For this reason I can see why the incident was handled, even though another medium was used, for the same issues that C.y.b.e.r.i.n.g is bannable.

The ban is invalid. The GM that was involved held a personal friendship relation with the victim. It was entirely once sided and those reported were not even given a chance to defend themselves. I can actually prove this as when I was in TS you entered and began to DEMAND that I tell you what happen instead of asking me in a more neutral and calm stance. You also used your GM powers ingame to smite me with lightning after I stole Teerz's sword and she told you I wouldn't give it back. If she can get you to do that, you two must be EXTREMELY close. The report should be deemed invalid and Teerz should just avoid the Oren TS entirely. And honestly if she doesn't like Oren she can RP as an elf or a halflings and RP in peace.

 

I also wish to add on I was entirely chill with Teerz and Cray until today. I find it disgusting, all of this. I'm not trying to insult them but rather open their eyes to see how foolish this entire thing is.

So remember kids, its best to not speak at all. Because mediums outside LoTC are not evidence unless the staff want them to be at that particular time. So its best to just keep your mouth shut and say nothing to anyone ever.

Indeed so, and personally I'm against that, basically insta-ban, without further review of the situation that has been occurring for a long while and believe it could have been handled better. I was just giving a possible reasoning.
