Stop making stupid-arse threads about how OP orcs are. You might want to look like immature whiny *******, but some of us don't, so stop making us look as such just because you lost a fight. If someone underestimates an Orc, which I find to be rare, then politely inform them in LOOC. Don't **** yourself and make a forum rant that makes you look like a spoiled child.

The deregulation of magic had very little do with with swordsmen losing. It was the highly unpleasant culture it created on the server around magic, with teachers being harassed constantly and thus becoming jaded and highly unpleasant to anyone who wanted to learn until we ended up with an invite only magic club.

No, but seriously. It does get a bit annoying to see people complaining about how orcs should be feared/respected for their size and strength. Honestly its the flavor of the month to be xenophobic IC, orcs for a long while were a dying breed that were rarely seen. In Athera everyone and their mother is playing an orc. I don't think before now we saw this kind of thread show up because in Asulon-Anthos. a lot of (Not all) Orcs did everything by mech standard (pvpscumbags). Its hard to feel anything is overpowered when all you have to go by is a countdown and then some clickyclicky. This "rant" isn't really to address a problem, just an observation.

Most of it's about the silly "height stat". I put it like that because it's not increased size, it's literally a number used for oneuppance in RP and pretty much everyone does it because your player model doesn't get bigger: there's no incentive not to say you're 16ft tall. Orcs are worst for it but they've got a little basis, Adunians were giant with no cause whatsoever and even the elves were juggernauts for a while. Humans too (there was a, what, 8ft human in the Anthos White Rose?) until Mog started having giant humans executed for demon possession.

 

There's plenty of incentive to not say you're 16ft tall. For example: Do you want to be pvp defaulted? Because that's how you get pvp defaulted.

Magic died because everyone stopped using it for creative non-combatant purposes and instead used it as a side-arm to their daggers/katanas to blast people who just wanted to use a sword with. 

 

On something more related to this topic, if you want your orc to be feared, make your orc inspire fear. There are plenty of guides on the interwebs on how to write decent horror, I suggest you look those up :D

Though I agree with you on this, you could have made this a bit more constructive Hell. More of a Rant then anything else.

There were more than enough constructive arguments from people on other threads. Apparently those don't work though. A shouty rant from a more senior Orc will hopefully do the trick.

Not really, Orcs have drawn a lot of negative attention to themselves with these OOC threads. They need to stop.

 

Luckily, I personally have yet to experience any 'bad' RP from an Orc, most of my experiences aside from one metagaming incident have been pretty solid. The same goes for a lot of other players I imagine too.

 

People will likely go to play Orcs because they are culturally and reputably strong and tough and big, something that may be appealing to a player for one reason or another. When their RP experience does not reflect this, it can naturally be frustrating. It's an expected hazard when it comes to any RP, especially experiences like LotC's, which is normally communal and hopefully organic. Your OOC plans for your character very rarely actually occur. For instance I literally wanted the guy in my forum avatar to be a peaceful craftsman character, now he is a commander of the Elven militaries... All, like, fifteen of us.

 

Orc players, along with anyone really, need to eventually understand this. RP will improve once this becomes a broader concept across the community. It doesn't matter what you are, or what you plan for your character. No amount of backstory or OOC pre-planning down to your character's calorie intake is going to change events that you simply cannot anticipate.

You're not actually the first player to make one of those threads. Another player made one back in Thales. So, while hellfiazz post is partially addressing your thread, it's not meant to be exclusively towards you. Really, it's probably speaking to any orc player who may want to make a thread like that. It's understandable to be frustrated when someone tries to overpower an orc 1v1, or when some guy actually tries to mug one; but making a thread doesn't really help anything. Your thread may be saying "It's silly for one human to try to overpower an orc on his own," but what people will see is "Orcs should win every klomp!" and it'll just end up in people arguing about orcish skeletal physics, Mountain vs. Viper and how tactical orcs should or shouldn't be. So, to anyone who has this sort of problem in the future, just try to handle it with the individual, instead of posting a thread. It just ends up in silly arguments.

I just want to share my thoughts on this. My uruk character went and was doing things and some khas were in the urukish city. One of these khas litterally had in their persona's bio that they were scared of uruks and was scared of most things. This kha still tried to pick a fight with me when there were two other uruks in my cave working on it. This is not the only time this happens to uruks and seriously, if people can't stick with their back story for longer then three minutes, don't make one.

 

The complaints being made on both sides are from people not sticking with their persona's story that THEY created for it. And from what people were saying about trained warriors not fearing uruks, yea I get it. But when I walk up and demand a tavern worker to hand over a kha when I am in full battle armour with three uruks with me and they try to act like they don't fear anything, that isn't right. These situations are why some races are dying.

 

Just want to point out this is my opinion and view on this topic so please don't get butt hurt from this post.
