what was the pvrpose of this event?

 

I mean, props to the ET because this was profoundly well-thought-out, the builds looked really good and there was obviously a lot of planning done for the dialogue and stuff, but it all felt kinda meaningless and bland.

 

There wasn't any loot at all, like, I looked through most of the chests in the floating city and there wasn't anything in them. I spent the majority of my time in here locked in a small room listening to a bunch of people talking while similarly bored asshats chatspammed /shout with silly one-liners and things. Afterwards we were just sort of left to wander around the city, except there was nothing there and I couldn't RPly interact with any of the objects in it. 

 

What's with these new events and meticulously weeding out any chance of stealing items from them? I'd honestly like to hear why there isn't anything to get out of these shindigs, and why I should attend.

Server lag sent me to the start 6 times due to falling off that bloody parkour challenge, with one void fall death before I gave up...

 

Begin construction of a stairway/bridge to the first island at least so falling off isn't such a huge set back.

For those wondering about the odd difficulty of the challenge, that was 100% intentional. I'm hearing that "half" of the people in the event failed to get up, but I was actually expecting closer to the vast majority of people being unable to get to the end. The challenge wasn't meant to be difficult so much as it was intended to be long and repetitive, making a single mistake very drastic. This was because it was expected that 50+ people would show up to participate, and we didn't want just anyone to get to the finish line. This is also the exact reason that we added a way stone to get from the first island to the last after just one person finished the parkour, as we wanted people to see it yet knew it was unrealistic that people would be generally able to complete the route.

 

As for the blank loot and lack of anything to see, we were actually planning on putting a bunch of cool stuff in including like 15 or so lore books, so in my opinion the event began a bit prematurely. We can still add in the loot as it's not too big of a deal that it was missed the first time, but it's unfortunate that the build and event, which have both had weeks of work put into them, have been classified as "bland" due to lack of content.

 

Despite this, I hope you guys enjoyed the event, or at least the parts you were able to partake in.

Hm, did not appeal me to be blunt. Firstly I do not have a character right now who would have been interested in this (my previous one, Silus Horen would have cared though), secondly my character did not know. Nobody he met was talking about it, but I guess that is all up to perspective. Nice builds nontheless. Perhaps I should look into ET stuff, if I ever get the chance to participate in anything.
