Sister Sequoia 438 Share Posted November 24, 2014 A tall, shapely elven woman in flowing robes the colors of tree and leaf walks through an underground library, her thoughts distant and curious as she trails her fingers across dozens upon dozens of unique works from across all the lands the Descendants have travelled. Tomes and books and scrolls ranging from ancient Aegis, to the expansive lands of Asulon, more yet from the turmoil-covered lands of Anthos, and a large number from here on Athera.'Knowledge and books, two things that never fade from interest, never left in the past.' the Archdruid thinks to herself, tilting her head as her good eye takes in the tones of the room, her false eye providing a red tint to her sight as the tinkered creation whirs to focus on the still-empty shelves around the room. 'I wonder what makes them all love the world in their own ways...' she suddenly thinks, smiling gently and heading up the spiraling root stairs of her grove, grasping her ferrum-engraved staff and leaving her grove, heading to the north. After a few hours, she arrives at the Father Grove and enters her office there, starting to pen several identical messages, addressing them to the leaders and important figures of each nation, some with specific names, others simply with titles such as 'Emporer' or 'Rex'. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peoples of Athera, honorable descendants! I, Archdruid Lillith Winterleaf, have decided to hold a contest of literature. I want to know what makes this world beautiful to you, no matter your answer. I think we all share a love of the beauty and mystery this land has to offer us, and we overlook this beauty far too often. So, I am making a contest to entice everyone, from our greatest authors and scholars to the simplest, humblest farmer, to express their love of this world in writing, be it poem, short story, or a long epic text. Please use the first page of your book to indicate if it is a Poem, Short Story, or Epic Tale. A Short Story is under 30 pages, an Epic Tale is 30 or more pages. From the moment you read this message, the contest has begun! In one Elven Month, I will take the entries I have recieved and read through them to determine the TEN best entries taken from three different styles of writing: Four Poems, Two Epic Tales, and Four Short Stories. You can submit your entries to the contest at the booth I have set up beside the Druid roadside shop, Nature's Bounty, along the main road between the Cloud Temple and Petrus, in front of the Father Grove. Simply deposit your books into the chute and they will be deposited into a collection box. Be sure to include your full names and where you live if you intend to accept any prizes from this competition. Sister Sequoia 438 Author Share Posted November 24, 2014 [[Could a link be put in a book to a document that contains the contest entry? One does not simply write properly formatted poems in MC books.]] ((part of Lillith's intent with this is to fill her shelves with the "heart of the descendants", what makes them love, what drives them. Entries must be made in-game. If you want to include a link at the end of the book to a fully formatted entry, feel free.))

Aedan The Bard 350 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Aedan would've sat at a table, with a quill, paper and a bottle of ink. He'd have spent a long time just sitting there, holding the tip of the quill just above the piece of paper, unable to write. Then, he remembers: There is nothing for him to admire from this land. He finds himself unable to feel anything towards it; love? this land isn't even where he was born at. There is nothing familiar, not even the breeze, not even the sky. No one belongs here. It's all cold, strange. Aedan would've signed the sheet of paper with his name on the very bottom, leaving it blank. Empty and lifeless as it is, the almost completely blank piece of paper is sent to the Archdruid.

Aeran frowns, sensing that somewhere, somehow, someone has invented abstract, avant garde, minimialistic, art in Athera.

hellfiazz 879 Share Posted November 24, 2014 'Mage!' said I, 'thing of fire - Mage still, you earn my ire! By those Seven Skies far above us - by the great one we call Creator - Tell this soul that does often ponder if, in the land of which I'm fonder, It shall burn the loyal Knight whom fights strong and with vigor - Burn a just and chivalrous Knight, whom fights strong and with vigor?'
