In the bustling town of Karovia, amid the cheery business of merchants and hearty work of farmers, the usual chatter of the merry populace dies down. On the horizon, horns crying, drums beating, appeared the golden horde of Invictus, marching upon the town.

Rallying quickly, the populace turned out arms, with the levies of House Kovachev, Flag, Vanir, with a friendly clan of dwarves joining them, and more spilling out to meet the would-be invaders in the outer field of the town. Stepping forward, the Karovian emissary waved an olive branch, signifying his intent to Parlay. Reluctantly, the leader of Invictus, Aderal Steel, rode forward to meet Romanen Flag in front of the two armies.

Beneath the shade of a large oak tree the parties met, talking well into the night. Demanding more and more, the Invictus party quickly grew restless, and by their own admission, "itchy", scratching strangely at themselves in some pre-battle ritual. Finally, upon denying the peace offered by The Magnus of Flag thrice, the Invictus leader turned, storming on a heel back to his men. Rallying themselves, their calls echoed throughout the town, the eyes of the city dwellers gazing upon the two armies.

"INVICTUS! SLAY THEM ALL!"

In the middle of the two fields, the great armies met, twin tidal waves of steel and flesh slamming into each other in a great, roaring thunder, shaking the very earth.

Outnumbered, surrounded, and with the barks of the invading dogs filling their ears, the levies of Karovian rose victorious in mere moments, slaughtering the mercenary rabble in the fleeting puddles of excrement they left in the seconds they had before they turned and fled.

Victorious, without a single loss, and encumbered by even more cheap quality Invictus steel, the men marched back into their homes, cheerful shouts of the thankful citizens greeting them like a toasty bonfire on a chilly winter night, Romanen Flag Mangus held aloft on their shoulders.

Mirko Vojovic scratches his head, looking around at the innumerable Invictus bodies bleeding out on Akovian soil. "Is over already? Was only seconds ago that weird toga man said attack."

Adoros Steel asks Darius, "Weh didn't break out any of our heavily sharpened blades or heavy armor right?" Darius shakes his head. Adoros smiles, "Alright. Weh ain't using any of it on this war. Our contract against Winchesters is complete. They supposedly be no more. If we see any remains we will kill 'em. Let the Akovians have their fun."

Vasili Vanir stands a foot into the ocean-fed lake of Arkovia, his arms crossed behind his back. The incessant waves climber high up and then back down his legs, staining his trousers with the very same salt that would likely be used later in the Vanir's victory celebration. A few drops of blood still dripped from the seax hooked into his belt, falling slowly and steadily into the water, disappearing. A smirk was hidden under Vasili's beard.

"Did not even know about this war until seconds few days ago. Now I am hearing they have taken refuge in Erstavik I? Niet... will not do. Am guessing I will be having to purify the halls of our old Keep, with salt and with iron.'
