[Magic Proposal] Hypnosia

Nightmares and Magic

While sleeping, nightmares and dreams occur. These are easily manipulated by people awake who are near the sleeping subject. Hypnosia is a magic under the lines of mental magic that allows mages who have studied long and hard to manipulate dreams and nightmares. 

 

How It Works

Hypnosia is a mage (not yet decided upon but could be a mental mage) using magic to try and manipulate dreams and/or nightmares into something else. Say an evil mage wishes to cause terror or get revenge, they can drug the person then manipulate their sleep into nightmares of great terror. 

 

Example: A terrorist mage walks into a tavern and sees someone he hates. He walks up to the person and slips something into his/her drink while he is occupied. When the person falls asleep, the mage begins his work to get into the sleeping person's thoughts to make the person feel fear. The mage begins concentrating and slips into the state, sending the person into a nightmare. The person sees his family, friends, and everyone he knows set forth in chains being marched into the lands of slavery for the undead. Then the person would see Iblees rising from a dark portal. After a certain amount of time, the mage would lose concentration and just give up. The person would recover from being drugged and be fine. No side effects from the dream.

 

Ooc Guildlines:

• There are no side effects when the person wakes up other then being afraid of sleeping again.
• A person can't just automatically fall asleep from a mage attempting this magic, the person must already be asleep from natural or unnatural causes.
• A person will not die of a heart attack from the dreams/nightmares.
• This can be used to create peaceful dreams for children who suffer from nightmares.
• The person does not have to be a mental mage to do this, just very similar.

Benefits of Rp:

• Sleeping rp!
• Nightmare rp!
• Dream rp!
• A use for sleeping drugs and a new way for a player to rp a person of terror who just wants to make people have fear. 

Sidenotes:

Currently, I will not put this under just mental mages because, no offense, mental mages have better things to do then this. I know this is sort of ripping off of mental magic BUT mental magic is more commonly used on a person for different reasons. Putting this under a unlocked catagory (idk which yet) will allow people to rp this and create fun player done rp for most to enjoy. Yes, it can be powergamed which is a fear, but all magic can. I rushed to get this post done so I can get opinions before I work on it more.

Dreams can already be fiddled with by a Mental Mage. Having a seperate magic to act out the abilities of a section of a different magic type is rather redundant and just adds needless magic types.
