The real question is, what can't clerics heal?

Clerics can not heal anything that was there before or simply does not exist. For example, we can not treat mental conditions that were present at birth or give people more blood.

This is why I didn't want clerical healing to be unlocked or be free to all, it leads to a lot of powergaming. To regrow limbs or eyes, you require full knowledge of how they work and all that junk and it takes a lot of energy and the magic didn't ruin the rp, it's just smarter to go to a person who can heal efficiently compared to normal methods.

I don't fault cleric roleplayers, I never said that!!!

I'm faulting the lore behind clericism for making this unclear and easy to powergame, and asking for it to be nerfed so that it's not such.

There should really be no clerics around healing entire limbs unless it is rather fresh and the owner of said limb has it in their possession. Of course a finger, toe or the outside of the ear are possible but not legs, arms or even hands. If this is happening it is not part of the cleric lore that needs to be reported. Feel free to contact one of the members of the LT or Itharel if you see this happening as it is lore breaking and should not be occurring.

As for it making medical rp "pointless" , it is a magical realm with gods that intervene in the world. Medieval style medical practices would not likely compete with such a power. Yet there are still many people who do conventional medicine for the roleplay and at the end of the day it is because those players enjoy it. If one can't enjoy roleplay because there is someone out there who can potentially preform the skill better I would suggest looking into a different branch of roleplay.

Lastly on the topic of the players returning at later times with their limbs attached. I feel like this is more that reasonable. One player should not be able to completely alter another players character from a single RP session. If the player wants to continue their character with the disability it should be there choice. Should the player be open to evolving their character through the roleplay? Yes most likely but if they feel there is a lower quality of rp for them after this I see so issue with them going to the monks so they may continue to play the character they have been working on.

I don't believe that nerf is the correct word that you are looking for then. I think that you wish for it to be rewritten so that the limits of clericism are more clearly defined.

I don't agree with nerfing clerics, but I see what he means with it killing medical RP. Half the time I'm going to heal someone, a cleric pushes me out of the way and heals the wounds rather quickly, even when someone is on the brink of death. Its been hard with the Clerics and Paladins running around but I don't think nerfing them is the right thing to do.

They kill all other doctor RP and make injury basically meaningless. You can sever someone's limbs our put out their eyes, and that player can come back 30 minutes later and say "yeah cleric healed!!!" and regain full function.

This sorta thing is silly and it ruins LoTC's credibility (Injuries that would realistically be permanent, life-changing and deforming are now just a single trip to the doc). Nerf clerics at least to the point where it's not possible to regrow limbs or massive injuries within a single (RL) day.

Clerics cannot regenerate limbs. Perhaps re-attach a finger but they can't produce flesh and bone with their magic.

Shush you, stop making sense, this is a place for shouting and snarky comments! On a serious note, yes the limb is required for us to put it back on.They want their arm back but have no arm to give us? Tough luck, go to the Monks or start shovin' all the bread in your face.

your lack of chill

No one can heal that.

Hosper, take all my +1's. But yes over a while it should be decently reasoanble for a player to have thier eyes or limbs grow back. Back in Aegis I had forced limb or eye eating -GLARING AT YOU VARDAK WORSE GUARDCAPTAIN NA- (Jk pls no eat my eyes again) just roll with it for a few days then have Monks or someone with the equivalent skil bring them back. Which now days idk who that is if there is any. If any cleric is regrowing limbs from nothing, contact Hosper, Daniel, or myself. That level of healing is not possible unless the cleric in question is a older and well seasoned one. A new cleric doing such is suicide, even more to be able to reattach a limb is risky healing as it weakens the cleric big time, and sometimes even knocks 'em cold for the veterans too.
