Maybe ask a dev or Tythus for a current dynamap? I went through and circled in red what has changed (I missed a lot, may be wrong on a few)

It would be hard to make a map when so much of the given map is outdated. I also circled a few things in white that may be fun to add as landmarks.

Abandoned Goblin Town - I think it's a cool place (bias I made it) and will soon have a event chain there. Also it's been the there since map launch.

Oakhearth (Bias I live there) - But it's a pretty easy to find village that is new player friendly

Quarry 1 & 2 and any others /Mines - Great for letting new players know where they can travel to gather materials.

Here is the map I marked up:

I recommend all Cartographers visit nation capitals- Because I can see from even the 'updated' map that it has a very very old version of where Cerulin now lies.

Aswell doesn't have the location of the new Druids Grove/ include the corrupted grove

I asked an admin about a dynmap and they said it's no longer available. Likewise, I asked two devs if they knew of any good way to get a good map image and they said no, so I went with what I have. However, what's more important is the general geography.

Also, if you're looking for inspiration, here is Shiftnative's competition thread from Asulon. I've linked the winner's post, but there are a number of entries there.

The whole world itself is a good 250 megabytes, (I would know, I have it.) So it can be tough to extract the world file even from a developers stand point, to be mapped, but I just used cartographer, i'll run around and update the major areas othe map and send it over later; I guess.

Is anyone else participating in this, or has this been largely neglected? I only have two entries thus far, which is fine if that's all. If there are other interested folk, let me know though, even if the timeline might be an issue.

*As the entries are slowly sent his way, Feanor receives several additional letters requesting an extension on his deadline. He shakes his head, chuckling as he mutters about the importance of timeliness, before adding an additional post*

All entries have an extra elven week to submit their maps. No more time will be given after that!

((Maps are due by the 26th now, as a few folks have asked for extensions. Please have them ready and submitted by next Sunday!))

Yay! Thank you for the extension. Was panicking today trying to get it done but then saw this post. :D

We're in the process of judging, it may take a few days due to timezones and whatnot. Be patient, winners will be announced soon.

So...is there a winner?
