Having taken a look into this a bit more, I retract some of my previous statements on this matter. The applications (at least for magic) aren't that severe, however my point still stands as far as that this could've been handled better with a simpler system and the backpedaling on promises made not that long ago. (*Cough*) I apologize for my outburst.

Guys don't complain about VAs they really improve the RP experience on the #1 Minecraft Fantasy Roleplaying server. Now whenever a villain does something 'bad' they can be SURE to be greeted with a quick "Do you have a VA? Link it?" followed by a 5 minutes break in RP while the victim reads it. It really adds to the immersion! They are also great because once you have it it doesn't matter! 

 

How to make a VA:

1 Make up backstory

2 Make up weaknesses based on what you feel has the most chance of being accepted

3 Write up application based on nothing about your character but what you feel will be accepted

4 Dont follow any of the **** you wrote above because once you have the app it doesn't matter

5 ????

6 Profit

Well, its obvious the majority really doesn't want VA's and MA's back. But, choice is choice. I do believe that staff should've discussed this with the player base more before implementing this, but I think we should be thinking of solutions instead of complaining about it. 

Heres a few ideas:

1. Just remove VAs and MAs again.

 

2. Meet in the middle- return MA's but remove VA's perhaps. Adding VA's back seems to be the biggest problem.

 

3.  Make the applications simpler and not harshly judged. You could keep both VAs and MAs, if maybe the application process took players less time. No one wants to write a formal paragraph during their free time. Keep it simple, answering to 5 scenarios is very time consuming.

 

4. Hold a fair staff and player meeting to discuss this. Both being on equal terms, no one in a seat of higher power. A poll could be cast, to lessen the amounts of people just complaining within the meeting, and try to get more ideas of solutions again, with both sides. 

 

5. Have staff make at least an explanation for re-implementing something that was highly requested for removal. Give us a understanding, and maybe some more improving feedback and more positive feedback could come back. But also some heat on the players for being so hateful and judgmental so quickly. Give some time for solutions to be made before getting angry. If nothing changes, then you can a bit.

Also theres some negativity to the leader of the VAT's. I don't really know the guy, but he doesn't seem to have many fans. 

  Although in my personal opinion, the idea of VA's aren't a bad idea. It requires the player to really think of the backstory and details of their character, so they can RP that character better. Its simple, the better you know your character, the better you RP them. But making us go through such a long process that we requested to not have is a little cruel. Maybe think of something that still does what a VA does, but doesn't take so long.
