Dizzy771 900 Share Posted August 9, 2015 High on the snow capped peaks of Vailor, amidst a crimson tide of blood, lay the still corpse of many beasts. Once cruel, vicious, and vile creatures now still of breath and lifeless. Their eyes glazed over like those of a porcelain doll. Some short paces away Dizzy stands, axe at his feet and clutching his side. Picking up the axe he limps to the mouth of the beasts lair, beads of sweat falling from his forhead. Grunting in pain he lowers himself to the ground. Releasing his hand from his side he brings it before his eyes. Blood. His blood. Raising his head he gazes out across the frozen landscape before him. A faint smile stretches across his visage as his eyes close. -~=+=~- A small Golem arrives at Kal'Akash, carrying nothing more then a letter. The letters bears the distinct seal of Dizzy Irongrinder ~=~ Greetings, Kinsmen. I hope this letter has found you all in good health. Sadly, that it has found you at all means that I am not. Its been quite the adventure, hasn't it? I've done a great many things throughout my life... I started out as simple dwarf, barely scrapping by with farming I joined the legion and rose through the ranks I became a great smith of renown, gaining knowledge of the arts of runesmithing and golemancy I was a warrior, fighting for my people against the darkness A great scholar, recovering lost knowledge of our ancestors An explorer, braving dungeons deep and mountains high An engineer, building great machines capable of astounding things A king, one who tried his best not for the crown... but for his people Bust most of all... a friend I ask not for pity or vengeance... but only to be remembered as a friend. Zahrer You were a brother to me, Zahrer. Whenever I was in need you always had my back. Your loyalty and support knew no bounds, and I couldn't have asked for a better friend. Dagor You may have been picked on, you may have been made a laughing stock, hell you may have even had something wrong in your head... but you were alright. You seemed confused a lot of the time, but your heart always found its way to be in the right place in the end. Dared I don't know where you've gone to, old friend, but where ever it is... I hope the arms treating you well. Aengoth People might question your methods.... but you've taught a few fine dwarves. Myself included, though to a lesser degree and without the famous beatings. Don't ever change, and I know future beardlings will have at least one person to knock sense into em. Lori You may have fallen out with the kingdom, but you had a scholarly heart like no other. I can respect that greatly, and wish you luck. Skippy We may not know each other well, but we've shared a crown. I can't give advice, I can only say good luck and hope for a long and prosperous reign. Hogarth Never have I seen someone always willing to help a dwarf out. No matter who it was. You've got a big heart, Hogarth, don't let it change. Fili You may have some serious issues at times... but I'm going to miss you a lot. You never failed to bring a smile to my face... (and maybe a few pulled hairs from my head, but thats besides the point) Fimlin You're a strong lad. No matter what happens you just keep on going it seems. Spread the love beyond the grandaxes every once and a while though, you could make some new friends. Everyone else I write this letter with heavy heart... and I'm afraid I've forgotten far to many of you.... but I wish you all the best of luck Narvak Oz Urguan Yankar

CaptainSheepy 317 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Ceruberr's emerald eyes glance out over the waters surrounding Haelun'or. He clasps his pale hands behind his back before releasing a lengthy sigh. "A truly unique character he was. May the stars guide your soul to a peaceful place of rest, friend. Van'ayla, Dizzy. Fellow Aengul-slayer." He'd smirk as a gentle ocean breeze brushes against his angular features. A few strands of ivory hair dance in the wind.

Knighty 18 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Kailon raised his pipe to the name of the legendary dwarf, before inhaling a large cloud of smoke. As he exhaled, and let the veil of herbal smoke coat the floor, he shook his head in remorse. "First weh lose maneh kin in dis frivolous war, now weh lose wun of the finest dwed 'oo ever graced dese 'alls?" The troubled Grandaxe parted the pipe to the edge of his mouth, and puffed out a few whisps of smoke, before murmuring to himself. "At least the Sea Dwed 'n dat giant golem 'ave nae bothered us again. Nae sure we could cope with it right now".
Josh3738 3137 Share Posted August 11, 2015 It was interesting to look at... A single wet drop on the crisp parchment the note was written on. Zahrer blinked as it was joined by a second and then quickly by a third. He watched slowly as the tears cascading along the length of his beard. Almost without feeling he sank to his knees as the little golem departed his home to deliver the remainder of the messages. He lay on the ground, unaware as to his surroundings as the sobs shook his body and the tears began to stream unceasingly from his eyes. Through gasps and moans of pain he spoke allowed, almost as if to the Halls of Khaz'a'Dentrumm. "Dizzy... My friend... My kin... My brother..." He pauses, crawling along the ground to rest with his back to the wall by the door. The note remains clutched in his hand as he tried to bring words to mind. Something to say. Something too hard to think about. Something unbearable to think about. "My friend. You were the first of my kin outside of Tog that we found. I still remember the day I found your poster then your name in my old record book. I nearly cracked my head open on the mantel piece as I jumped up from my desk. What a sight for sore eyes... Our wonderful adventures... Our glorious battles.... For so long we fought side by side and only now do I look to my side, unguarded... You were a true brother to me Dizzy. As true as any of brothers could be. I will always remember our times together. They best bid high on your soul... There won't be another like it any time soon..." Another series of sobs racks his body sending him slumping to the side pounding his fist against the floor in rage and sorrow. "I wasn't there! I could've helped! I- I could've fought with you! I should- I should have been there! I should have been there..." As the city gradually became aware of the loss, Zahrer's laments echoed out of his window. It was here he would be found hours later, silent as the tears still stream from his eyes. I'm going to miss Zahrer's oldest friend. They had a great run though didn't they. I can honestly say that I've had the most fun on this server with you as Dizzy the dwarf, one of the first Irongrinders, and I truly believe that you're one of the few people that really made the server for me by simply playing a character. It's too sad to see him go.
Lark 2227 Share Posted August 11, 2015 Dain stands atop Maric's Lance in the Vimmark Mountain range of Saltstone, he takes a deep breath as word of Dizzy's death had reached him. A gentle snow falls around him as he stands on a cleared patch of stone, his bare feet resting on the frosted stone. He holds a solid stance atop the mountain, moving his arms slowly and with restrained as he breathes in and out. He does not cry over Dizzy's death, crying is seen as weak. Dain breathes as he weeps, for weeping over the death of the friend, for weeping is not simply crying over a sad occurrence, it is expressing sadness over truly tragic event. A few tears run down his face as he continues his breathing training before sighing and finishing the exercise, taking one more deep breath before mumbling to himself. "At last he's finally found peace."
Rhewen 361 Share Posted August 24, 2015 Rhewen clears his throat and lets out a deep resounding note, his son Rhovin, sat upon a stool, his bagpipes blaring a soft meaningful tune. Rhewen sings at a soft dynamic a soothing song known by every dwarf "May this night bring forth A single bright star May yer name be honored across the mountains afar An' may our ancestors of history past may they guide yer spirit T'peace at long last So bless yer friends and yer kin in these old lands may the titans guide yer battle-ready hand And bless our home and our thane King o' these lands May our mountain home stand strong by our hands And may yer honor and yer heart shine bright like the forge ye'll be remembered as always brother o' the dwarves So bless yer friends and yer kin in these old lands may the titans guide yer battle-ready hand and may yer honor and yer heart shine bright like the forge ye'll be remembered as always Brother O' the dwarves" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYVXPmyee_c Rhewen Then stares into the forge where he sang and throws in his first bear pelt, so that the spirit of the bear may guide dizzy in the halls of waiting and accompany him to the auction of the dead, he then sighs and plays his bagpipes for many more hours with his son. "Dungrimm goid yeh Dizzeh, tell me brot'ers Ah said 'lo"
