The Effects of Disconnection

"The soul was never designed for Aenguldaemonic interaction.”

Aedmar Russell.

The soul, the soul is the ethereal heart which encompesses the average being, without it, you are non-existent, you cease to live and you fall to your eternal deathbed - excluding those which can function without - To manipulate the soul even by Aenguldaemonic standards takes time, decades even as it is the ebb and flow of each mortal figure which tends to be the death of the individual before the final blueprint can be imprinted into the soul; the Kharajyr for example, Metztli required a plethora of test subjects before she had managed to create her race. The Itharel which were made at the hands of Tahariae, however, were made with the careful analysis of the complexity of the soul and designing a set of prints which could function alongside the soul -- plucking the soul from their person and building their body anew which the same can be said for the Keepers of Xan.

Upon being connected the Aenguldaemon(s) in question preserve the soul as theirs, vanguarding it with a veil of ethereal magic which by no normal means can it be broken unless one is versed in the disconnection ritual or a figure which equals the power, or higher, than the Aenguldaemon that had bound the soul in the first place. This veil acts as a shield from outside intrusions, a Tahariaen Cleric cannot become a Shade for Tahariaes’ Purity would deny the blight attempting to afflict the soul as a Paladin cannot be forced into the binding runes of the Dread Knight for Xan’s light preserves the soul. A bridge is formed between the Aenguldaemon and soul to which the character funnels the power, and draws from.

Disconnection, however, is a task sought by little -- a punishment rarely given unless the tenants of the Divine have been broken. The person, reaching out with a vice tight grip toward the ethereal bridge, tearing it from their soul which, in turn, damages the ethereal heart encompassing the body, leaving it damaged, cracked almost. A forced disconnection damages the soul and depending upon the Aenguldaemon they take a piece of their mind with it such as the druids lose their heartwarming melodies. The after effects of a forced disconnection are permanent.

A willing disconnection, however, is more common -- the wielder can no longer adequately fight beneath the Aenguldaemon or they’ve decided to leave all together. This, however, does unfortunately leave a fracture on the soul albeit different from the forced, the effects of the disconnection are temporary instead of permanent. However, this isn’t always the case such as the druids are subjected to the loss of their melodies which can often enough, depending upon their time with the Aspects, lead to mental instability.

This being said, the soul will only ever be able to withstand two fractures at any given time, beyond that, another bridge forming between the soul and Aenguldaemon will cause significant damage to the characters mental stability, and the conclusion of such would lead to their brain, dying, and their bodies crippled -- ultimately braindead; preventing what we would know as ‘Aengul hopping.’

Important notes:

This lore will restrain people from disconnecting from one Aengul to the other, and repeat; the player will only be capable of being bound to two Aenguldaemons. For example, a Paladin is disconnected from Xan so they seek the clerics to serve under Tahariae, upon disconnection for a second time the soul has been fractured twice; they can no longer be bound to another Aenguldaemon and must accept the consequences of their actions.

This lore is to define what happens to the soul upon disconnection, naught else -- the majority of this was already fact albeit wasn’t official.

It is the teachers OOC responsibility to alert their guild of the affliction disconnection causes -- Ascended, Paladins, Clerics, and Druids.

Special thanks to Delmodan for aiding me in the development of this lore; discussing and tossing about ideas.

Sounds about right art from one thing!

The soul can be mended via a higher authority (aenguldaemon) albeit very unlikely to transpire.

I'd suggest to remove this thing as with "unlikely to transpire" I do assume this could mean a few favored individuals getting this done for them.

Amma agree with this. Also, there's nothing here about the mental effects of disconnection, other than "a piece of their mind being taken away". Perhaps provide some examples of how the mind can warp (hallucinations, extreme depression, et cetera)?
