Hail Lord of the Craft'ians!

Usually the introduction forum is at the top of the forums I have joined before and it took me a moment of scrolling to find this, I use it mainly to say hello and get a feel of the people involved though I've never joined a non-enjin Minecraft server before. I'll introduce myself then, my name is Jay and I would love to play a silver haired high elf, maybe a priestess if that's possible because magic always interested me. I was on Gildorym for a bit, still am now and then but was told about this by some of the people and have wanted to try it out, now that I am on break it seems like the best time! There I played a Drow priestess, cleric, which was interesting but I don't know what I can do here.

Any advice?

Hello once more and I hope we can meet in character once I have been accepted, after applying of course!

If you want to play a high elf learn to hate everyone except your own species. That's kinda all you need.

High Elves are the silver haired ones, do I have to hate everyone except my own? I played a Drow before, so I understand but I prefer not to do that honestly.

Well, your character's personality is completely up to you, though usually high elf society tends to be really racist from my understanding. They're also traditionally non-religious, so being a priestess would likely involve going outside of high elven culture. You could rp as a religious, non-racist high elf if you wanted, of course. Not sure if they'd let your character live in their capital, but lots of people prefer playing counter-cultural characters. Honestly, there are definitely better people on this server to give advice on high elves, but I thought I'd chime in with what I know.

If you want to play a nation affiliated high elf you kind of have to be extremely arrogant and xenophobic.

Thank you for the offer, I have decided to make my character an Elf, just unsure which sub-race.

You can always be a High Elf and not be with the High Elf nation. A lot of people do it because the High Elf nation restricts RP to that group. If you want to be something along the lines of a Priestess you'd probably want to join the Clerical Order which I know for a fact have had silver haired, High Elven priestesses before. You can also throw in some attitude like traditional High Elves have of being less friendly and more judgemental by nature. It's really whatever you want to do.

I may go ahead and do just that, though I was told that I should join the place called Lauralin, or something like that. I am on the server now in WS channel asking questions, though Sythan who helped me is no where to be seen right now and no one is helping by answering the questions. All I want to know now is, where could I get a skin and what would be a good age to start off as?

My Favorite Sub-race of Elf is Wood Elf, They're actually pretty fun to play, and they're probably more of what you're going for, they're very accepting, unless they deem you edgy! If you wanna know about Humans or Orcs you can PM me!

Hoho.

I play a high elf priest-cleric. Highly recommend. The high-elf superiority complex translates beautifully into a holy-than-thou attitude. It does, however, require you to stay away from the high elf nation, on pain of death.

If you want more chill roleplay, I'd recommend a wood elf. I haven't roleplayed much with dark elves, unfortunately, so I can't say much about them. They have an ancestor-worshipping religion and don't have racial superiority, per se, but a certain pride in their race.

Basically, if you want an aloof, mildly-superior character, I'd recommend high elf. If you want a more down-to-earth character, I'd recommend wood elf. If you want neither of those things, and want to instead suffer from racial persecution, go dark elf. If there are any dark elf players who can give feedback on their experiences, that'd be dope. They're more than edgy persecuted folk, I promise!

In terms of how high elves behave in culture you totes don't have to be some supreme racist. They are xenophobic for sure but you don't have to outwardly express it. Many high elves believe the other races have their benefits and should be treated with respect depending on a couple of factors (intelligence, manners, or some master mage).

My character. who is the cultural leader of the helves (aka like a modernized emperor or pope) has never actually killed anyone, especially not due to race. He usually will treat them with non-violence and have they kicked out of the city but that is only because they usually break in. Non-helven guests regulate our city and we take great pleasure studying other races.

Religion is strange in the high elves and I almost wish it existed (because it basically does there just isn't any clerical boon. We idolize and follow a high elf named Larihei, the Mother) but we look down on those who do the same to "Aenguls" and call their purity into question because why would you worship someone that is not a high elf? :P Though on most cases clerics and paladins are seen as useful so you may be welcomed (though you couldn't live there) into the citadel.

We don't have any healing magics but if you are looking to play a high elf holy being of any sorts there is a new magic type that is beeing built up in our new settlement, Fi'ceru. It's an antimagic and the users of which are basically holy knights that fight the unliving! For purity! :D Feel free to PM me if you need advice  while you develop your character!
