General Tax Information

Dens:

Dens will be assigned to Khas who live within the village. Each den costs one tax sheet a week to keep.

Taxes will be due every Sunday at 5:00 P.M EST

Should you require a den, please fill out the information below and you will be housed. After you are housed, your taxes will be need to be paid after the following Sunday at 5:00 P.M EST.

Will anyone be living with you? If yes, Who? (MC and IC name):

Stalls

Stalls rented are paid for during the same time as taxes are due. A stall costs 20 minas a week. Contact Ri’Kaharal if you wish to rent a stall.

Collection of Taxes

All taxes are collected on each Sunday of every week from tax bins next to the door of every den and stall. Khaa may only put tax sheets and resources in the bins, but only the Aelkos of Commerce may take things out. [/spoiler

Things of Note:

As this is the first week of taxes, to allow all Kharajyr time to get adjusted, the first taxes will be collected the Sunday after this upcoming Sunday (November 22nd at 5:00 PM EST) rather than this next Sunday.

Missing Your Tax Due Date

If a Kha is unable or refuses to pay their taxes, the Kha has one week to make up the rest of their dues in taxes of the previous week in addition to the following week of taxes. If said Kha is does not pay what is required in full, they will be evicted from their dens, and may not gain another den until they pay a fine of 75 minas to prove they are able to handle paying for a Den again. If you miss your 2 weeks buffer of not paying taxes (Meaning you did not pay your taxes at all), you will be considered inactive, and you will be evicted from your den and any items within claimed.

Vacations, Medical Emergencies, and Breaks From the Server

We understand things may happen outside of the game. You may have a medical emergency, something may happen to your computer or your internet, etc. and may be unable to get into contact with myself, or any of the Kha. As such, I will be keeping a record of all things claimed under the name of the den they were reclaimed from. If/when you come back IG, and something unexpected happened, your items and den will be returned to you. Should the event occur that the Kharajyr government has used said items, or your den has been claimed by another, you will be compensated for your items in the form of minas, or your items remade (Replacing 32 iron bars with 32 iron bars), and placed in a new den, or a new den being made just for you! If you have a family emergency, are going on vacation, or anything else that requires you to leave for a short period of time, contact me through Skype, forums, or IG. If you are unable to reach me, PM any of the other Aelkoses, the Tla’, or literally any other Kharajyr and ask them to inform me (Or any other Aelkos/The Tla’) that you are away, and for how long you believe you will be gone. You will be exempt from tax collection for the amount of time you are gone, along with one additional week to get yourself adjusted at home and to begin collecting for next week’s taxes. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE BREAKS FROM THE SERVER! If you are taking a break from the server for an extended period of time, that is more than fine. However, we cannot have empty rooms filling up the village. As such, your den will be reclaimed, and your items taken. That said, you will always be welcome back with open arms.

Tax Concerns Involving Kittens and Cubs

Kittens and Cubs are not considered independent, and thus are exempt from paying any taxes, as well as parents not needing to pay taxes for their kittens or cubs.  This changes once the cub comes of age and passes their trials.

Tax Concerns Involving Kha Criminals, Ape Kha, and Apes

Should a Kha be found guilty of a most heinous crime (Slandering Metztli, mating with a non-kha, etc etc.), found to have become an Apekha, or has left the Kharajyr (meaning you still play a Kha but are not within their culture/religion/village), their dens will be claimed, and all items within taken. Should the Kha wish to rejoin Kharajyr society, and the Tla’ has pardoned them of their crimes, they may again gain a den, but their items may not be reclaimed.

In the very rare event that a non-Kha is housed within our village, they will be counted as part of our village, and as such, must abide by the rules of taxes and rent.  It should be noted that apes MAY NOT purchase dens without given the consent of the Tla’ or an Aelkos. They are required to live with another Kha, as to not take up dens that rightfully belong to the Kharajyr.

You'll be evicted. But the money is very easy to get. You can get more than enough by redeeming 10 or 20 keys through voting.
