Purpose of the Chapters

The Chapters were founded for an unorthodox task. In times past, Orders of Knights formed standing armies for secular or clerical reasons, examples being the Teutonic Order, White Rose, and the Order of Saint Lucien. The Red Dragon however is glue binding these newly made Chapters. Their purpose is to ensure there are Knights actively doing their duty within the various regions of the Empire.

Those who have no Chapter

Not all Knights have a Chapter, however, each belongs to the Order. These Chapterless brothers are nomadic and wander from the various regions of Oren, assisting where needed. They may travel together or alone, sometimes assisting the local Chapter. It rests within these Brothers to monitor themselves, and recognize when they have been found wanting.

Some choose this path, while others do not fit well in the Chapters. It is a lonely duty, but an important one. These Brothers often paint black marks on their armor or wear black tabards to declare their nomadic duty.

This is most ironic. The Order of the Dragon will be apart of the Order of the Dragon! How convenient is that?

Edmond Cross muses to himself.

"To do away with an established gentry class and replace it with an Order no better than the likes of the Felsen Guard.  These men are blinded by the fairy-tales of yore, this will accomplish nothing but further degrade the title of Ser."
