WRIT OF DISOWNMENT AND BASTARDISATION

As Issued by Richard Staunton upon the 12th of Snow’s Maiden, 1539

Let it be known across all corners of Oren and the world beyond, that the patriarch of the House Staunton, heir to the late yet illustrious Duke Percival Staunton, the first of his name, Duke of Courland in his own right, has seen fit to strike out the line and body herself of Cassandra Staunton for her known degenerative wiles and promiscuous, lustful ways. She is to be disowned and bastardised from that House of Staunton. All of her progeny are to be considered bastards of the Stauntonian line, though they shall not be bastards in the eyes of their father’s house.

She is to be disowned due to the behaviour of her own character and its deplorable nature. She is known for her lustful and promiscuous behaviour, shaming both her own family and her husband’s in her nature. She cavorts beyond the marital bed and openly shames her House. We find these acts to be ones that no house could tolerate, for we have tried for many a year to alter her behaviour; but now find ourselves forced to choose another alternative.

Cassandra is to be bastardised due to the lack of trust and faith that we place in the marriage between Holly and George Staunton, due to the promiscuous nature of the former partner, the nature of which has raised the question of Cassandra’s legitimacy. Following an investigative inquiry we have denounced that she is in all likelihood illegitimate, and deserves to be bastardised.

The presence of these points leaves His Grace no choice but to enforce this writ, as much as it saddens his heart. Never again shall Cassandra, nor her ilk, bear the name of Staunton.

Signed,

His Grace, Richard Staunton, the first of his name, Duke of Courland, Patriarch of the House of Staunton.
